i was informed today by a fellow badger that indeed, the concert hall
where bf5 played has burned down. i guess that it was still smoldering
from the bf5 concert a few weeks before and caught aflame. say, is there
another version of song for the dumped anywhere but mr wrong? i didn't
quite understand that indie rock mag thing posted after my thing. the one
with the mixup. i like the original lyrics *much* better. anyway, enjoy
 each other.

 Wow,
I have to say I'm sort of surprised. I can't believe how quickly the
band's music has spread,...all over the country. A while back, my
friends Bendte, Mitch Bennett and Lee Richards convinced me to catch BF5
at the Cat's Cradle and I too was amazed. Lee was one of the first
people to ever write an article on the band and you can read his
comments on the BF5 page @ http://www.caroline.com and in Rolling Stone
magazine. This is one of the best places in the country to be to see
great music. I also reccomend you all to check out Zen Frisbee and
Mitch and Lee's band, AnnA to the Infinite Power
(http://www.unc.edu/~pinworm). For those of you that have seen BF5 many
a time...don't you think it would be cool if they would add a little
something new to their live performances? Not that they don't totally
rock, but, they play their songs exactly the same way every time. Just
 MHO, ...take care all!

Ok, this is what you can do to get the band out of that piece of crap
ryder truck and into the luxurious tourbus they deserve. Remember, if you
don't like BF5, it is probably because you haven't heard the music yet. Ok,
if everybody on the list does this, BF5 will get the attention they deserve.
It will only take 5 minutes.

Email requests for the "Underground" video to these addresses:
 Minutes120@aol.com
 MTV Slave@aol.com

Simply email a request for the video and they should have no choice but to
show it a few more times. Let's sell that great CD.
Oh, by the way, hello everyone! Nice to meet ya'll from Texas.

Finally, they've decided to hit our neck of the woods. And exactly one
week earlier Barenaked Ladies hits the exact same place. Is this heaven,
or are we just being really lucky?
Quick question for you D.C. fans:
How exactly does one get to the New 9:30 Club? I'm from Baltimore and
have never been there before? Is it accessible by the Metro or should I
 probably drive?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.
  Thanks.

Well, I don't want to over do it on the superlatives. Let's just say
this was one of the best shows I have seen.... well... ever!!

I heard Ben was ill a few days earlier so I was worried about a cancellation.
I drove 8 hours total (to and from my home) through a snow storm, and
three rain storms and I haven't slept for... 32 hours and counting.
But it was worth it, I have a day off work tomorrow so crash time.
 anyways, onto the show highlights...

Club was very small, like 250 capacity, if that and It was not packed to
the rafters... Good crowd though, all ages and types... dreadlocks to
the left of me, 14 year olds making out to the right. Everyone up front
with me was really into it.

Played almost all of self-titled PLUS>>>
Song for the Dumped (funny story later)
One Angry Dwarf and Two Hundred Solemn Faces
 Steven's Last Night in Town.

crowd sing along to "Beth" by KISS
Some Built to Spill song I didn't recall.. sounded way cool though.
Video Killed the Radio Star (14 year olds were dumb-founded... am I that
 old???!!!)

body slammed the piano, did nasty dances and devil hand signs.
 Sounded really good all around.

And, during Song for the Dumped, I was singing along and at the part
where he sings "well Fuck you too"
he sang "Well...." and stopped, but I kept going and into the deafening
 silence went my "FUCK!"
Ben stopped and said it was like something from the Gong Show. I don't
know why he said that, but he got a good laugh so I don't feel too bad.

and that is my capsule review.

the crowd did not recognize anything that wasn't on the album, but were
 very receptive nonetheless.

Oh, and I thought 3 lb Thrill were pretty good, good vocals...

hey! i'm new to this list so just thought i'd write a short note. glad to
see so many people as enthusiastic about this band as i am. it seems that
i've been waiting a long time for this kind of band. i think i've listened
to this album more than any other...maybe with the exception of some beatle
 albums.

anyway, good to be here. does anyone know of any canadian tour dates? i'm
dying to see these guys live.

 thanks,
