Was just watching A Fish Called Wanda while flipping to MTV every so
often to see what's on, when I switched ovear and heard...
"I was never cool...in school."
etc.
Just gotta say to the boys
HA!
Damn funny, and just plain silly. Everything I'd expect out of BFF.

Hey Frank, and others...
you mentioned something about BF5 in concert on fri. night on ABC...it
isn't even listed in my area...does that mean it isn't on, or that it is a
typo?
Please let me know....i really don't want to miss the opportunity to have
them on videotape! I'm in Boston area, if that helps at all!
Thanks!

Well! At last, a BFF web page. Great! I saw a sneak preview of "The
Truth About Cats and Dogs" tonight, and the soundtrack contained a new song
by Ben Folds Five--"courtesy of 550 Records," ran the credit, so I guess the
bidding war is over and Sony got 'em. There WILL be a soundtrack album
available, and there's some other worthwhile stuff on it too. The movie, by
the way, was great.
A friend who works at a record store has heard talk of an upcoming
EP...know anything about that? If "Song For the Dumped" is on it, it'll save
me the trouble of buying the "Mr. Wrong" soundtrack.
Thanks for putting this page up. The BFF album was my favorite release of
'95, and I'm glad the word is spreading. Sign me up for that mailing list,
willya?
Cheers,
Darren Snow

- He's clearly the virtuoso.
... um, I think that the understated performance of the rhythm section
shows more proficiency than inability. Besides, it's rare to find a
bassist who will play a guitar solo on his bass and sound like a guitarist
and not like a bassist who wishes he were playing the guitar. As for
influences, how about Joe Jackson with a happy face?

Just wondering if anyone on the list got to see the Omaha show this past
sunday. I had been looking forward to going all week and had convinced a
lot of friends to go with me and then it got changed to a 21 and over
show only. I saw them last year here and was very happy to be able to
see them again so I was pretty dissapointed. Are most of their shows
21+? Maybe I will see them on their next trip here, whenever that will be.

Hello BFF fans!
Just a quick question -- I'm really curious to know what everyone's
favorite Ben Folds Five song is. Granted, the entire album is
incredible, but there's got to be a song or two in particular that stands
out for some of you. My favorites are "Philosophy" and "Best Imitation
of Myself," and my friend Lisa likes "Jackson Cannery" the best.
What do you guys think?

Actually, nina, they've been to Houston 3 times. They opened for better
than Ezra @ Numbers a while back, they opened for Heather Nova @Urban Art
Bar about 6-8 months ago, and they were in Houston headling at Urban Art Bar
in February. They'll be coming back agin. After this leg of the tour
they're going to be working on the new album. When I talked to him here in
Austin in Feb., Ben said that he had the songs in his head and he just need
to realize them. So... the new album should be out by the beginning of
next year, if not earlier.

Hey Mike! This is Mark's friend Nikki! We spoke on the phone. I missed
the SXSW show because I am SO poor. I had $4 to my name the night of the
show and before that, I had NONE. :( Now I have none, too, funny, huh? :(
I was so upset that I couldn't afford $10 to see them. :( There's always
next time though. Glad to hear the show was great. (was there ever any
doubt it would be?) All of the Austin Fans on the list (and maybe even the
houston fans :)) should get together some night.

Hi all!
My husband was listening to Todd Rundgren's "The Differerence" this past
Sunday and heard something cool. Todd said next week Ben Folds Five will
be on to discuss their "Philosophy." If your area gets this radio show, be
sure to check it out!
Also, about the "ABC in Concert" with Ben Folds Five--be sure to check local
listings because here in L.A. the time often changes--once it was on at 1:00
AM, the next time 3:30 AM and last week 3:05 AM. BTW, if they use footage
from the Feb. 19th show at The Troubadour in L.A. there's a good chance my
husband, our friends and I will be seen!

Three's an interview in a local St. Louis indie mag w/ BF5, who realte
the funny following bit:
"...so we picked 'Video Killed TRS', and we've been doing that one live
since," says Folds. He continued, "The Presidents of the United States
are doing it, too. They put it on the b-side of their new single. We're
not scared." [To Jessee] "I saw them fightin' the ninjas and shit on
the video, and I think we could probably take 'em. I think that was
camera tricks, I don't really think they were fighting like that. So
anytime they want a piece of us, BRING iT ON [laughing] They'll get
their cranium cracked."
Jessee: "Step right up."
Folds: "I drop bombs just like Hiroshima."
Jessee: "Fuckin' up the West Coast just like Luther Vandross."
Man, I was laughing my arse off. Great musicians AND funny! Unlike me
who's just funny and good lookin'!
enjoy your day

"Video Killed the Radio Star", by The Buggles - the first video ever
shown on MTV.

am I still on the list? I haven't received the digest for a couple of
days now.
I'm one of the few Canadians on the list - I am resigned to the idea that
I may never see BFF come to my fair city of Halifax. Bought the disc
last fall and still can't get enough of it. It's a rare day that goes by
without me listening to at least "Best Imitation of Myself." Ben has
inspired me to start practising the piano again - even though it's hard
to find time now that we're soon getting into exams here at school. Aargh!
How many people on the list now? I am still astonished at the growth of
it. I think when I joined, there were thirty, maybe forty people on it.
