 Hey Mark.
I told you just a month ago that Ben said that they were releasing a video
 for Uncle Walter.
I just don't think they want to do anymore videos until they're big enough
that they don't get bullied into a video they don't like.

 To Shebass/Eileen:

I'm not really sure that we have the disagreement you seem to think we have.
It seems to me that we agree more than we disagree. All I said was that the
band seems to be centered around Ben, since it's named after him, he writes
the songs, and he sings the songs. I think you agreed with that.

And when you say that "Ben isn't the only one in the band," I never ever
said otherwise! Indeed, it matters to me that I got Darren's autograph on my
pre-release cassette, and I wrote a haiku about Robert.

So, since we agree, let's stop fighting. :-)

 Hey,

I'm a newbie but an oldbie....I just saw them at the Babyhead, Providence, RI
show and now I'm hooked. I loved them on CD but live just blew me away! So
 here I am...
Yes, the wait was grueling but the crowd was so friendly <unlike some
 bands->we all have are war stories : ) > They opened with a song I don't
think most of the crowd knew and I was pleasantly surprised. They played, Liz
Phair's "Chopsticks". And from then on I was on top of the world, dancing up
a storm. And when they ever ended with "Video Kills The Radio Star"....I
heard about the cover but hearing it....wow!
Anyway, I also got to meet Ben after the concert <I wish I met the rest of
the band too> It's really great to be able to met a member of a band and not
be pushed aside. They waited til everyone left the club before they
 left....you've gotta smile : )
We LOVE them in Providence......sold out show!

Also I just obtained two boot concerts->
 7th Entry, Minneapolis 10/26/95 &
 Maxwells, Hoboken, NJ 1/18/96
Interested in trading, please e-mail me.........

This is definately a nice place to be.....

The song on the other side of the jackson cannery 7inch is called "This Is

I think the BFF segment of ABC In Concert was taped at The Troubadour in LA.
I heard that The Customers were also on and they've been opening shows for
BFF, at least on the west coast. I guess they caught both bands in LA.
Well, even if the sound wasn't great, at least most of you had the
opportunity to see the show. We weren't as fortunate here in South Florida,
as we got a paid advertisement for phone cards.

 Ben Folds at Washington DC-
Well, first I'd like to say that I made out like a bandit at this show. I
got the set lists from both bands (BFF and Customers), two guitar picks,
and the entire group of BFF signed my CD cover and a poster that I got of
them. Also, the guy from Customers, who I happened to think were pretty
good even if the lead singer was strung out on the latest drug, gave me a
number where I can get free cd's from his manager or someone like that. I
just have to mention his name. Neeto
Well, about the show. Ben opened with "Chopsticks". Very rousing. =-)
Then went into "Uncle Walter". Nice, very nice. He makes the most
interesting faces. An dI love it when he does those Beavis and Butthead
"rock on" type poses with his right hand up in the air, his pinky, first
finger, and thumb extened. Ben has the greatest sense of humour. Although
there were only less than 50 people there. Oh well. I was lucky enough to
stand right at the fron of the stage, to the side of ben and in front of
Darren. Next was the "Last Polka", one of my favorites. Then, as a
surprize, they played "Summer B." Me and the guy that I went with had
heard that they dont play that song anymore. So, coolness reigned. Then a
song called "Dwarf". Whatever. It must have been good. I was too caught
up in the show to notice. Then a song about a short man named "Stephen".
After that some wierd song that I cant read but it looks like "Emaline".
Hmmm... All during these songs Ben Darren and Robert kept conversing and
making us laugh. it was good. =) REAL GOOD. Then "julianne". Then
"jackson cannery". then "video" which, by the way, was the best i have
ever heard that song. Then the cutest version ever of "Underground" where
Darren steps to the front of the stage and starts it off. Then "sports
and wine". Then Darren's "Song for the Dumped". Then "Philosophy". Not
listed is a conglomerate of songs that ben said would be the most cover
songs that they have ever played at a live show. It included Sweet Home
Alabama. Neet! The encore included "Video Killed the Radio Star" and
"Boxing". Also, there was another covre song in there, but I forgot what
 it was.
I talked to them after the show, and ben assured me that there would be a
video for "Uncle Walter" real soon and that they were shooting it in like
ten days or something. Also, he said that they will go back in the studio
at the end of this tour, record a new album, and go back on tour right
after that. That should take like three months. NICE! So, the only thing
that I have to say was that this was indeed one of the most memorable
nights of my life. I love and respect Ben Folds FIve and will continue to
promote them over my radio station and show. And... Roger is the FINEST
bass player I have ever seen. YUMMY!

In response to the girl who replied to my statement about "boogging with
 Ben":
Granted, anyone of the three band members would be a blast to dance
with. If only we could be so lucky. . . ! At the Cleveland show March 19th
(and from what Ive heard all others too!), they all proved to be extremely
entertaining!!! I've said it once and I'll say it again: never before have I
been cracked up by such a hilarious band! Together they work great! And my
claim to fame. . . ? After the show he (Ben) shook my hand! I didn't get to
carry on a conversation like a lot of you, but hope to at future Cleveland
shows and anywhere else I can see him play!
Hey, does anyone have any info about Chuck Folds band? I'd like to
check them out. Oh, and just out of curiosity, how old are the BFF members
 anyway?
"Now if it's all the same, I've people to entertain."

My friend Dave checked them out at the D.C. show and said they were
completely incredible. And you want to know how great they were? Well, I've
been sick for the past couple days and they lightened my spirits by
addressing a poster to me with signatures and all to me (I just thought that
 was pretty damn decent.)

Nevertheless, I caught the IN CONCERT thing Friday night. They seemed
energetic enough, but I don't think it was a fair representation of what
 they're capable of doing.

BY THe WAY, does anyone know when they're coming back to the NYC area?

 -Thanks a lot DAVE-

It kinda seems that Ben is always sick on tour. Everyone I talked to about
concerts in other cities said that Ben looked tired and had a tendency to
rush the tempo of some of the songs.(I mean it was still cool but ya know)
Then I checked out the concert schedule and MAN! These guys play like every
night. I also heard(Chuck if you read this let me know) that the band like
has no money? That there tour bus was a U-Haul or something? Oh well just
 blabbin on, see ya round.
