Well, school is over for now and that means no more E-mail. I hate to
leave the list but there is no way I can read it from this address. I,
like all of you, love Ben Folds Five, and am looking forward to when
they come to St. Louis. I will rejoin next year when school starts up
but until then, so long. A few closing opinions, I love Video, I can't
believe someone would think that is the weakest song on the album. To
each his own I guess. As for a name, I like Sports and Wine because we
all know that's all we really care about. My second choice would be
The Fold and the Beautiful, but I haven't heard anyone else mention
that. Oh well, see ya in the pit. (that's how I think we should end all
 post. It's pretty cool, huh.)
 Love, bryan
P.S. I got the chance to play so music in the quad of my college and I
played some Ben Folds Five. Anyway, this hippie came up to me and
asked what it was. He really dug it. Just wanted to let you all know
that th BFF is getting in good with the hippies. But then agian, what
 don't they love.

Well, all I know about the shows in London is that there are two shows and
one of them is sold out! Looks like there's some recognition over there :)

cause it sounds better than ben folds three.
ya know, when i first saw them, i had no idea that ben folds was the piano
player--i thought it was a poker reference. imagine the smirk on ben's face
when he asked me my name and i asked him his in return--we got a good laugh out
 of that :)

[That's it - the official explanation is that five sounds better than
three. At first, I thought I had it figured out as a slang term used by
pianists meaning to play fast arpeggios - to "fold five". That makes
sense, doesn't it? Five fingers, folding up and down the keyboard? Hey,
maybe we coined some new slang! -fjm]

 To all,

We can't be happy underground. You took the words right out of my mouth.
It's nice to know some artists aren't afraid to mature, and point out what
should be the obvious. This band gets it. Talented and intelligent; I'm
 buying.

Make the list name easy and simple. BF5Alive or BF5backTU Dive4BF5 ...
something cheesy and with a tint of bumper sticker lingo. Who knows? zzz106

(Ok, so maybe I spelled Lollapoloza wrong...)

I just heard on MTV that Ben and the boys will be performing on the
second stage for the first half of the Lollapoloza tour..

I'm not sure what venues that includes, though...

What's "Retarded"? Is this another concert song that's not on a CD? (Except
under "Bad Idea") Why did they change the name?

 Sara

["Retarded" is the old title of the song. That's how it was written
down on the setlist, anyway. Perhaps "Retarded" wasn't politically
correct, so it was changed. -fjm]

I just heard some great news this morning! Ben Folds Five will be on the
Lollapalooza tour. (apologies, I don't know how to spell that) It's not
official yet, but the touring people have booked Longview Lake for the show.
I don't know the date yet, but it's either late June or late July. Just
thought I'd let you guys know.

I worked the second stage for palooza and HORDE at walnut creek amphi. and
most of the bands were alloted 45 minutes sets.

Just a bizarre aside... I Attended the Midtown Music Festival in
Atlanta this past weekend, and I proudly wore my BFF shirt in the
sweltering heat. Anyway, Howard Jones was selling a cd that he produced
himself which is only available at his shows and through mail order through
his fan club, and I bought it at one of the vender booths. It's label
number is Dtox CD 1... interesting coincidence...

Just wanted to let you know that the video for "Unlce Walter" was accepted
by MTV and will air this Sunday during the first hour of "120 Minutes"!
Julie Hermalin deserves big props - she did an amazing job!.

We're supposed to get Lollapalooza dates any minutes now. I know it starts
in Kansas City in late June.

The first show in England was a huge success - I haven't heard yet how the
two shows in Germany were. They play The Splash Club in London on the
10th, which is almost sold out.

I'll let you know more, when I know more-
 Thanks!
