I'm just wondering why is the piano player smashing a guitar?

On another note has anyone noticed how "The Last Polka" isn't exactly a Polka
since it involves none of the traditional polka-type instruments... It does
seem to be within some other specific category, but I can't put my finger on
 it...

okay one more... has anyone noticed how they're called "Post-punk"... I'm not
exactly sure this fits since punk often implies a no-talent band with a
guitar player who only knows three chords... of which Ben Folds Five is (has)
 neither...
 oh nevermind...

 a spooky man named me

 Frank (or anybody who knows),

I was surfing through CD Europe (http://www.cdeurope.com), and I came
across some wierd stuff for our buddies BF5. There's two entries for the
album + extra track, and I have forgotten what that track is, so if you
could remind me, I'd be pleased as punch. But there's also a listing for an
"Underground" CD Single. Anybody know what tracks are on this little thing?
I don't want to spend $11.95 if it's not going to have anything new on it.

         thanks

[I think the extra track on the album is Tom & Mary - that's what it
is on the Japanese edition. -fjm]

Hi! I just joined the list today, and though I should be studying I
couldn't resist putting up an introductory post. I first heard BFF
when they played a Christmas show here in LA last year. I went to
see Barenaked Ladies, but fell in love with BFF! I know they won
over a lot of Barenaked Ladies fans that night, including the Ladies
themselves---they've been playing the Ben Folds Five CD between the
opening act and thier own set at most stops on their current tour!

Anyway, I've heard that they are going to be a part of Lollapollooza
(sp?) but does anyone know if they will be doing any of their own
 shows in the near future?

Finally, I gather that there is some talk about naming the digest. How
about "Uncle Walter's Magical Armchair"? Its long, but "UWMA" would be
 a good shorthand!

 That does it for introductions,
 Carolyn

I was just crusing around the BF5 pages while suffering from a major sunburn
and somehow came upon this weird page (if I knew what it was I'd tell ya!!).
Anyway, it was kinda this list of top albums and songs in Germany. Ben and
the Gang were all over it. Some of the top songs were "Alice Childress",
"Philosophy", and of course "Underground". Now are BF5 really that big and
getting that much air play over there? If so, why the hell not in the
 States?!?!?!

It's getting late where you are,
 Bethany

A good name for this would be "the Kindest Truths," because we prais the band
here, but the majority of it (if not all of it) will never be read by them.
It's just a thought. If there's an address to order shirts, pleeze post it
someone, I'm gonna silk screen one tomarow, but I want a real one.
