 ATTENTION ALL AUSTRALIANS!!!!

Are you all jealous of the fact that all the Americans write to this here
mailing list and send nasty little rub ins like "hey we heard Ben Folds Five
on .... [insert any random music program or show that we dont get]"? Well no
more! We have our own little claim to fame right here in our pathetic little
 country!

Last night on Witness (yes the Jana Wendt programme) they played 'Boxing'
(instrumental version) in the background to the segment on Leunig's play. So
there! Sucked in all you poor Americans for missing out.

 yours
 callantha

Just a quick note to say that anyone who is interested can find a bootleg
discography (if that is the right word..) on Looks, Brains and Everything,
 at:

 http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/5430/bff.html

I also tried the same sort of thing that Ruprecht suggests above, but it
didn't quite work out (Too many wanting, too few having....). Anyway, I
hope it works out this time. Bootlegs don't just appear. Make yourself
 know, bootleg traders!

In that case, Physics lectures are a pure fountain of ideas...

Well, exCUUUSSE ME!. Since when have Europeans been nasty to you? Or maybe
you're excluding the UK from that.... In which case... FORGET EUROPE! PLAY
 SOME MORE SHOWS HERE!

I'm just wondering how many of us hold dual memberships here and in
Bedside Manor (Barenaked Ladies mailing list). Seems like quite a few.
And, is it just a coincidence that Barenaked Ladies are neither
barenaked (at least not in public), nor are they ladies, while Ben Folds
Five has three members, not five?

And, Frank, the BFF's manager isn't the only one thankful for you doing
such a super job with this mailing list.

I have a BFF show at Maxwell's in Hoboken, NJ that I'd be willing to
give for a blank and postage if anyone wants it. Also if anyone would
like to trade that be cool. It's a great setlist.

Fear not. BFF's backing vocals in concert are as airtight as the other
bands I've seen who do this great live. (i.e. Extreme, James Taylor's
vocal cadre, Huey Lewis + the News)

I was talking about boxing with this one guy I know, and he
seemed to think that this song was about boxing the holiday... for those
of you americans that don't know what it is, I think, (I'm not exactly
sure) it's just a day where everyone gives gifts to everyone else..
(someone who knows correct me if I'm wrong) anyways.. this song takes on
such a delightful new meaning when you interpret it this way. Ben seems
to be saying that he's gotten a lot of gifts, but he feels guilty because
he didn't get gifts for others... he also throws in some great puns
dealing with the sport.. all in all, if this is intended, it is PURE
GENIUS! just thought I would share this. Maybe I'm wrong, sure hope I'm
 not though.

Well, now with the Official Website coming (www.bffweb.com) one
must wonder about certain things. One of these is BFF or BF5. Either
work and both express the same idea, but maybe we should stick to one?
Well, time to ignore this message ;)...

Does that mean all you can listen to on the radio is Silverchair and
Midnight Oil (with an occasional set by Men At Work)? Oy...I hope not for
 your sake.

If it makes you feel any better, I really enjoyed what I heard of the album
on the college rock station here, then the "modern rock" (somebody shoot the
person who created this term) station here started playing "Underground" out
the booty...and they probably played "Julianne" 3 times...since then, none
of the rest of the album has been played. I don't find any copies of the
import singles, either...but I did pick up some nifty Rocket From The Crypt
 singles yesterday! I'll stop rambling.

 Sincerely,
 Greg

 Subject: Another BFF web site.

I've been working for the last few weeks on another Ben Folds Five
web site... it is not quite finished yet (I still have to do a bit more
keying-in of interviews, and the 'Tour Dates' section will soon be
replaced by an 'Images' section as soon as I take the time to scan)...

It has a web-discography (with inline graphics of the album covers
[though I still am waiting to receive the two UK 'Underground' singles in
the mail so I can scan them]), interviews, links, and a preliminary
version of a Ben Folds Five FAQ (information page). The FAQ is not yet
completed, but if you wish to help write any of it (or think you have
anything to add, or find errors, etc), please leave me e-mail.

      The URL: http://www.globaldialog.com/~echo/bff.html

Check it out, if you are so inclined to do so, and please let me
know what you think, and offer and suggestions for improvements.

      Thanks!
