Hello everyone,

Once again, it's Joel from Oshkosh. Well I thought my idea for
"daily questions" was a pretty neat and harmless suggestion. Sorry if
I've upset some people out there. To Steve, I understand your points.
Some people are looking for specific information while some are just
browsing. I was in no way trying to change anything. I was just adding
something. Thanks to you people who played along.(I didn't think the
Cheers song was that bad of an idea.) But that's what makes this
Armchair fun. So many different opinions. Democracy! Democracy!

	Alright the next question:

"If it was up to you, Who would you want to open for BF5?"

I would have to say a Bare-naked Ladies/Ben Folds Five concert
would be pretty beautiful. But how about Ben opening up for some band
like,hmmm.... say GWAR!

Bye for now,

Hi all,

For those interested, some of us from at least 5 states are hoping to meet
for the Music Midtown Show in Atlanta. I called 99-X (one of the stations
sponsoring) and asked for a landmark near the 99-X/Miller Lite stage. They
suggested "The Cotton Club", which will be very nearby. All we need now is
the time to meet. The show is 5:45 and I want to be as close as possible.
May I suggest noon? I will make a sign that says, "Magical Armchair Loves
BF5", or something to that effect. So far, I'm the closest (about 60 miles
away) of those I've been in contact with. If anyone has a better suggestion
please let me know. I'm looking forward to meeting my fellow Armchair
friends.

Stefanie Schumacher (No witty line, just a damn BIG fan of BF5!)

Here's something amusing I found on the They Might Be Giants e-mail
discussion group:

<<Ben Folds Five: Okay, yes they're good, but P L E A S E -- isn't there a
BFF
mailing list??!? You'd think this *was* the BFF mailing list, yeesh!>>

BFF just can't be stopped.....

I always thought that Ben would do a rippin' rendition of Antonio Carlos
Jobim's "Desafinado"...hmm...

anyways not enough people have been talking about this song on the new album
- -has anyone heard of it?- it's called "Brick"? Wow, I'd sure like to see
everyone and their mother overpsychoneofreudoanaylze it until every time I
listen to the song, instead of appreciating how beautiful and striking the
melody is, I can't stop listening to every syllable in every lyric!!!

Oh, and as for the West Palm dates I was searching for on the Armchair awhile
back; that was a mute point...they're not coming. They're in Minnesota in
June. See, I heard from a local fanzine that they were playing the Carefree
Theater June 4th, and excitedly asked for confirmation. Ten minutes later I
realized I had seen them at the Carefree Theater on June 4th...1996. Ah
well, they can't avoid this hot-ass weather forever -and ever amen (sorry I'm
LAME)

A-ight, I'm audi `for everyone reading into Brick decides to kick my booty...
PEACE OUT-

Subject: A sad, sad story from Chicago.

So... I'm bowling with two of my roommates.
We actually bowl really well.
We walk outside.
We head over to the car, and realize....

Some heartless bastard has shattered the passenger-side window and
stolen my stereo!!! And my roommate's credit cards and Discman!!! And
some other stuff!!! ARGH!!!!

Why am I mentioning this in the Armchair, you ask?

Because my prized copy of the WNEW radio show (on which can be found the
only known near-studio-quality recordings of BFF performing Video Killed
the Radio Star and Crosstown Traffic) had been in the tape deck!!!
DOUBLE ARGH!!!

So here's my plea.

If anyone who is going to be at the show at the Metro in Chicago this
thursday has a copy of the show, I will LOVE YOU FOREVER if you'll make
me a copy. If you would like to trade, I have some Barenaked Ladies
bootlegs (a tape of rarities, a compilation of concert outtakes, and
Steve and Ed's first demo tape), as well as a copy of the BFF show at
Maxwell's in New Jersey on 1-18-96 (a great tape) and about 75 minutes
of BFF demo tapes including a bunch of unreleased stuff... otherwise I
can just bring a blank 90-minute tape. Any takers? please???

Regardless; if any other armchairites just want to meet up at the show,
I'll be walkin' around in a KNAC Pure Rock 105.5 t-shirt. Guaranteed to
be the only one in the place. :) Thanks, all... I love you dearly. :)

Hello again folks,

A couple of people showed some interest in my Magical Armchair
t-shirts that I had posted a couple of days ago. If there are enough people
interested in them I might consider looking into it a little more seriously.
Let me know by email if you are interested. Or I'll be at the Detroit show
on Friday. I'll be the guy wearing pants and a shirt.
