Hellos to all!
I was wondering how well recorded are the additional live tracks
on the "Where's Summer B?" CD single? Is there an audience or is there a
LOT of audience? Is everything pretty clear vocal-wise? I'll definitely
have it, but I'm just curious for now.
Also BF5 did an interview last year at our local station and, in
the middle, Ben changed the subject and started a 5 minute discussion
about how all his life he's had "tornado dreams" and his personal therapy
has been to buy lots of tornado videos. (This was a bit after "Twister"
came out) And he goes on about how the best tornado videos are at
Walmart. Well, it's getting pretty obvious that Ben has a big
lying-to-the-media problem and I want to start a case study. So...
Anyone with humorous stories of BF5 just making crap up, let's
hear em'!

Steve, who'll someday take the time to dictate the entire enterview for
the fivers/folders/armchair magicicans.

From Tokyo:

Yes, they came back to Tokyo ,again.

First, Ben Folds played Bass at the stage of September 67
as the opening act. I don't know the name of the song
(I heard the word :Cake . Cake song cover?),the end of
the stage.
Ben looked embarrassed by our attention to him much than
to the members of September 67. He was a good bass player,
of course.

Second, "Pretty People" , Robert composed, was played tonight.
It's a instrumemtal music. One of their staff told us that.
(We don't know his name ,but thank you ,Sir)

I think Chiori (who can speak English well) posts about
this show. She gives you more details.

It was another fun night!
I'm not writing much but a few.

They played an instrumental tune which was quite cute.
The set says it's (For all the?) Pretty People. I asked the guy
at the machine who wrote it. He said Robert did. WOW!!!
And he said it's on the b-side of some single. Anyone know which one?

On the set, there was Jelly on half way of the gig, but they didn't
play it... I really hope they will on Tuesday!!!

I saw Mrs.Folds too, and yup, I managed to talk to Mr.Goodman, the
tour manager. He had posted an answer to my post, and I said it was
so nice of him. Thanks Doug!!

Well that's all from me. Azusa will post the whole set i guess...

Just wanted to have my say. I've been a BFF fan for just a couple of months.
I can honestly say this band is quite different than anything I've ever
heard. I've been around a while too. I'm one of those older fans who
refuses to ever grow up. Anyway, I can't stop listening to them. Their
music makes life a little easier to live. My advice to everyone is just
enjoy the band. It's gonna be over soon enough. Things change, including
bands. I loved Bruce Springsteen until "Born To Run", Billy Joel's early
stuff was great. These guys and other bands change too quickly. Who cares
about names, instruments, and meaningless bullshit? It's here today and gone
tomorrow. Grab it before it gets away. To steal a line from "The Man", Van
Morrison: "These are the days, the time is now". Thanks for listening.

 MAD> The Philosophers.

I vote for "The people who don't know how to call themselves and have
long meaningless discussions about songs they shouldn't write about
but listen to"

Hey! It just music! Ok.. it's good music but nothing more than that.
I'm going to unsubscribe from the list and LISTEN to the music and
enjoy it.

The city of Houston seems to be sold out of Whatever and Ever. I never
get to listen to it anymore because there is a constant line of friends
lined up to borrow it, seeing as how it can't actually be purchased
anywhere. This is good...right?

A question: Could someone please refer me to a site where i could get
HORDE tour dates/venues? Any Texas shows....please?

Loves,
josh

Subject: VOTE FOR A BF5 COVER! - UPDATE

Thanks to everyone who has voted so far, especially those who voted
correctly. :-)

A couple of changes: First, I'm going to extending the voting period.
Rather than having a fixed deadline, I'll keep the election open until I
get 100 votes. So far, I've received 46.

Second, some of you have complained that you don't know how to copy &
paste the ballot, or that you're using WebTV which doesn't support
copying & pasting. So I've put up a web page ballot, where you can just
click on the songs you want to vote for. Since the ballot is now on the
web, I'm no longer going to waste valuable Armchair space by repeating
the entire ballot here. For those of you who haven't voted yet, the web
page ballot is at:

   http://members.aol.com/nakedvegan

If you've already voted, please don't vote again! (I *am* checking for
duplicate votes, and ballot-stuffing just wastes my time.)

If you prefer to vote via email, the ballot was published in issue #296
and #302.

- -- Michael Bluejay (Austin, TX)

P.S. While I was working on the web page, KROX (101-X) here in Austin
played Battle of Who Could Care Less *and* Underground within an hour or
two of each other! For Battle, the DJ mentioned that it was by request.
After her shift ended, a second DJ played Underground, but didn't make
any comment.

Hey.. yea, don't worry bout it.. bands with no airplay tour all the time..
That's usually their way to GET airplay. Plus, check out the HORDE tour.. BFF
is supposed to be playing it.. they're not by the time they get here to
Florida, but they might be there for you..

No No No! Has it been confirmed that BF5 is not playing on the Florida
dates? I can't take this anymore! We got skipped over when they played
Lollapalooza last year and now their not playing the Florida dates
again???!!! Damn I really wanted to see BF5 and the Squirrel Nut Zippers
play the same show. Ben don't you like us? We're just as loyal as the rest
of the country.... Ok so if their not playing here then when are they
coming? Frank- somebody please iron this out for me !
