Good evening bff people,
I was real fortunate to stumble on to this band, and am looking forward
to stumbling on to many others. Are there any bands out there that veteran
fans coulrd reccomend? My reccomendations are Barenaked Ladies, Dave
Mattews Band (not so secret anymore), Bela Fleck and Phish.
Celebrate,

I'm pretty sure it's all worked out so that there isn't anyone performing at
exactly the same time, with time in between bands even so that in theory
people could record the whole event if they wanted.

Becca,
There's a FL-based mail order import company on the web called
CdEurope. And yes, it's at www.cdeurope.com of course. Their prices at
least beat CDnow by a small margin. I've yet to order anything from them
so I'm not totally sure evrything that's listed on the site will be in
stock, but you can try. I think the singles are around $12 and they have
an interesting offer for those who want to send them track listings of
imports. I've never seen anything other than the albums in the stores
though...Good luck.
And about this not coming to FL policy...I don't know how to deal
with this right now! Ridiculous! Absurd! I thought I'd NEVER see the
Cardigans, but THEY freaking came! It's bad to say this, I know, but
popularity has, in a way, already taken them from us. It's selfish to put
my wants above the wants of the rest of the world to see their awesome
show, but hey...I have the right ONCE in awhile. Okay, I'm through
venting now. You really should've skipped reading it.

(just a quick question...) I was just recently informed of the summerstage
show on June 25th and I'm not sure who is handling the ticket sales. i've
check (the obvious) Ticketmaster, yet no such show is listed. Please help if
possible.
Hopefully this won't become a problem as I am already seeing Ben Harper on
the 25th. (This is gonna be tough...)

Eeks!! It's sooo late here, and I have to get up in like an hour to be
art work in two hours so I have to go to bed like now so forgive me if
this message doesn't make any senseor anyhting whatsoever because I've
been up for something like 56 hours straight. Anyways, I just read your
post to the Armchair, and I wanted to tell you that both BFF and Toad
are right up there on my favourites list too (although BFF are in the
top 3, and Toad are in the top 20). Also, Barenaked Ladies are HUGE fans
of BFF. In fact, BFF has been asked on multiple times to tour with BNL.

OK... I've seen all this voting for various things going on lately, and
I just thought that it'd be a spiffy idea to ask what bands you'd like
to see BFF tour with. So, here's how we'll do it...
You email me suggestions for bands you'd like to see BFF with. Then, in
about 1 - 2 weeks (date will be given in future issue) I'll compile
those bands into a list from which you will pick your top 3 or 4 or
maybe even 5 (I don't have it all worked out yet *l*). Send your bands
to: punkerboy@webtv.net
RULES:
1> Do not post the bands on the Armchair, email them to me privately.
There's no sense in wasting valueable Armchair space, and besides, I
won't count them if you do, even if you sent them to me also.
2> Please limit your suggestions to 2. Any suggestions after 2 will be
discarded.

No two bands will be playing at the same time, so everyone will get a
chance to see every band. Someone mentioned that Toad might be
playing at the same time as BFF. Well, that won't happen. And don't forget
to bring your video cameras and photo cameras. They are allowed at

Howdy all!
Especially a big Hello to all the new members we have! The Good News is
obviously spreading.
We tend to get a little narky sometimes but just ignore as when we are
pissed off - we generally a fun-loving bunch of people!
Thanks to eveyone that e-mailled me about the petition to get BFF to
Australia. I am in the process of getting back to you (our computer
crashed last week and it has taken a while to get everything back to
normal). But for all those new members and those who may have missed my
last message, I shall repeat my request. ANYONE intersted in joining a
petition to get BFF to tour Australia AND New Zealand (lets not forget our
neighbours) please e-mail me at the above address. I am also considering
some sort of Australian/New Zealand BFF Fan Clubs so e-mail me if you are
interested. Any suggestions would also be appreciated.
Finally, please don't knock silverchair. While making it in the States in
the norm for American bands, its pretty down-right amazing for an Aussie
band to do so, especially when you're are 17! I can appreciate where you
are coming from with the "little" fan point-of-view (Anyone who was up the
front at the final Crowded House concert in Sydney last year will remember
how the little girls screaming for Powerdfinger ruined it for all the die
hard "Crowdies") but maybe some a few of these little people will become
BFF fans from seeing those gigs. I am not a silverchair fan - I can't
stand them actually, but I am still pretty god-damn proud of them.
Thanks. I'll be expected my e-mail box to be bursting with message from
eager AUS/NZ fans!
Cheers all,
Janelle

From Tokyo,again.
I want to tell you about one thing tonight(May 19th)
In encore, Darren had a guitar and Ben sat at the Drums set ,
and Darren began to sing. Calm song. I didn't know the song.
So I and my friend asked Scott . He told us it's "Mitchel
Lane" which was written by Darren. This is the first time
to play (at least ,in Japan).

Subject: Ben's last night in town (tokyo)
It was the last night of BF5 Japan tour....it's over...wanna cry.
Anyway, it must be said as the best, funniest show that I ever saw
this time. (I saw 3 tokyo shows altogether)
(sorry, those of you who wasn't there....! please don't cry ;( )
The opening act September 67 played very well as the last days.
Ben played the bass on the last song of theirs, and he seemed to
be enjoying it. (he was smiling as if to younger sisters ;)
It was different from the beginning.
A radio personality came on to the stage, (it was Samantha Vega,
if interested) and she told us that they broadcast the show live!
(Is there anyone who lives around Tokyo and was lucky enough
to tape the radio broadcasting???? it wasn't even on the newspaper!!
It was on 76.1 Inter FM around 18:00, 5/20. PLEEEAAAAASE let me know!!!)
Anyway, they started with Best Imitation, without the piano.
Okay, here's the set.
Best
Dwarf (after some big guy came on to the stage and shouted something...)
Kate
Selfless
Emaline (by someone's request..Azusa's? never thought they'd do it here,
Philosophy so it was nice!)
Brick (2nd verse 'I'm feeling more alone than I never have before'..
Steven recognize the difference?)
Smoke (Ben played piano with left hand, melodica with right hand)
Pretty People
Jackson
Fair (on the last 'papa-pa,papa-pa'phrase, 'Roberto,x2,anata baka..!)
Sports
Dr Pyser
Battle (after chatting with Scott, the mixer. He pointed if Battle was played)
Underground ('show me the mo----sh potatoes')
Dumped (kane o kaese) (chorus by audience, conducted by Ben)
Encore:
Mitchell Lane (by Darren. played with September 67..Ben on piano,
Darren on vocal and bass?, Robert on contrabass,
Shanon on guitar, and Kristine on drums)
Cowboy song?('a cowboy needs a horse, a cowboy needs a hat, a rope...
Julianne maybe an ad-lib song)
I think they talked alot with the audience tonight. There were some funny
conversations actually. Someone asked Ben how Kate was,(i think he said
'USA!' but Ben heard that way..) and Ben said 'Thanks very well. How'ya
doing, Kate? she's back there...', then we heard her saying 'Hi'.
That was a little cute conversation.
Another girl asked something like 'do you know how to use japanese toilets',
and later he said '..that was Darren Jessee on the drums, he knows how to
use japanese toilets'...it was fun.
On some song while Robert was playing solo part(?), Ben climbed up to the
piano and danced a funny dance.
After the light came on, I hung around a while. Then the guys showed up
again and came down from the stage (between the fence and the stage).
Everyone ran toward the stage, and Darren, Ben, and Robert came shaking
hands with the fanatics there. I myself managed to do with all 3 of them!!
Kate was at the lighting machine, and Azusa and I talked to her.
She was very nice to give me the setlist. I asked if there was any one left,
but there wasn't. She first wanted it as it was the last one, (of course
i said she should keep it) but she gave it to me!!!
On the back of the list, there's notes about what color(light) be on
what parts of songs etc.. it must be very precious... Thanks Kate!!
Well that's about it. They are very talented and so nice people!!
Thanks a billion! ...sorry for a huge post.

Big Up to all da people in da house!!
OK mon, I tell it like it 'tis, Whats the coo tah with all da people sending
songs for Mr Folds and his best little buddies to cover? I mean it's a
cheeky idea, but swear to God, get my blacked out windows done on ma Sri and
big bore exhaust hyped up, it's not going to happen is it! Ruuuuuude and nuff
respect to all da massive crew. So rather than spend huge amounts of the
clock "Oh what a night, late December back in 53" thinking of songs for them
to never cover, just chill with da homies and guan wid me fresh toons.
Wicked, nice one sorted. AND Where is Terry Christian these days?
"There may be trouble ahead........................let's face the music and
dance" Reet ya know that song, old type of toon and stuff, but cheeky thing
happened when DJ played it other night at taxi Club. OK, give handshakes to
Raj and Gupta over Jacksons Cannery (who incidentally make those robust tin
like cylindrical objects for the Presidents of USA to put their orange
colored fruits in)- Understand where I'm coming from, ya know it, coming on
strong like the strength of a hurricane. Anyway as I was lyricising, Raj and
Gupta putting money in flashing lights to get change for fare home on a
night, and cheeky toon came on, so in respect to all the worldwide massive
they put banghra vibe over top and mixed in Uncle Walter, now how rude is
that? Big time cheeky mon in'it. All due respect to DJ Sangam, cos his mix
tapes definately are a masterpiece. Stuff and nonsense.
I'm outta here.
