Well, if you want a band that kinda sounds like BFF, check out Five for
Fighting. They only have one album out. However, they do have guitar. But,
why do you want to buy music that all sounds the same anyway? I'm a huge
PearlJam fan, but I don't strive to find cds that are reminicsent of
PearlJam. But, if BFF is the only kind of music you like, ok. later

Hey.. well, i was looking at a promo-postcard from Spongebath records, and
one of the bands had a little caption that said "You want moody piano pop?
We've got moody piano pop!". So, of course that could mean it's like Billy
Joel, which then you'd have to run for your lives, but it could be like BFF
also! Have yet to check them out.. but the name is:

Fluid Ounces: "Big Notebook For Easy Piano"

It's distributed by Caroline for 10 bucks and i guess Spongebath as well, so
if anyone knows of the band or checks them out, please tell me! Thanks.. see
ya.

Hi, Fivers.
I haven't seen my review yet (if it was too long, Frank, let me know)
and at the moment have no access to my archive on disk to see what the hell
I said, but just in case, I meant to say Bruce *McCulloch* was at the Lee's
show (I may have had the wrong last name). I knew that, but now you see
what the experience of my 1st BFF gig has done to my heeead! Sorry - and
if this was the first you've heard of me, this is going to look really
dorky. Oh, well.

Ditzily yours,
Valerie

The one and only top ten album list

1.The Ben Folds mailing list is not worth reading - the album "Kill the sheep"
2.Fags from the BFF Mailing list- first album
3.all of you are idiots- all three albums
4.If you want to write top ten lists- the album "don't"
5.BFF rock- the album "the mailing list sucks"
6.Why do I complain?- the albums "cause i get ten mails in my mailbox
consisting of top ten lists","I don't care about your top ten lists", and
"No one else does either"
7.I hate fags who write their top ten- the albums "beat 'um, beat 'um, beat
'um", "baseball bats and heads flyin'", and "get a life, oh nevermind your
dead from my beatings"
8.the Ben Folds Digest: Ben Folds related stuff?- the album "where I don't
see any"
9.Jump on the band wagon- the albums "I'm gay and I write my top ten," "Oh
I only know the song BOWCCL"
10.Send your hate mail to me at rsnead@awod.com, you losers.

because of you all I no longer read the once lovely Mailing list. It gets
auto delete, and the only reason I keep getting it is because Ben, Darren,
and Robert are the best all around musicians in the industry today, and I
will stay loyal. top tens should be kept to yourself, I have my favs, but
I'm not going to list them cause that's stupid. Whoever started this
stupidity, email your address to me and I shall personally come to your
house and give you beatings. Thats right ten free beatings all for you,
and tell you my top ten as I beat and beat and beat...

The mailing list sucks

Bryan Snead

*O.K I'll I have to say is that if you don't like it, then fucking
unsubscribe you pussy no one wants to hear your idiotic rantings. I dont
think Ben would approve of your post Either

| but thanks for
| the tape it rocks the world.

I second that emotion. As soon as I got that tape back from Gina it went
into
my normal listening cycle. I LOVE live stuff. Nothing quite like the image
of all the fans and the band playing and everybody dancing...

**Wow can't tell what you what a warm fuzzy feeling that brings!**

On that note I will open up the offer again to those who may have missed it
the first couple of times or weren't yet on the mailing list. Since I enjoy
helping others out- if anyone is interested in a copy of a compilation of
Bf5 which includes an Aug. '95 show from Ziggy's NC and an Oct. '95 show
from Seventh Street Entry MN as well as a few early demos I'll be happy to
work something out with you. I also have aPontiac Michigan show from Jan.
20 '96 that includes the freebird jam and a cover of the Charlie Daniels
Band -South's Gonna Do It Again. If you're interested email me privately so
as not to clog up the Armchair.

Thanks-
Gina

I apoligize for the non-BFF content, but since I heard about Sameasyou from
the armchair I thought it appropite to announce this. Ok, Sameasyou is
currently second place in the demo derby so if ya'll could go to-
 www.demoderby.com

and vote for them that would be really nice. They need it, well more like
desevre, they are a great band.

thanks a bunch, and sorry about no bff content

Now I know I shouldn't have had all that cough syrup this morning, but I
think I interpret this as being on TONIGHT (Tues 6/10), even though it's
actually listed as being on 6/10 AND 6/11. I'm confused. It's too damn
hot here.

Subject: Usenet Group and Top Ten PROBLEM

Okay,
I just want to remind everyone that a usenet group has been created. All of
the news servers may not have it yet, but they will. So check and see if you
have alt.music.ben-folds-five on your big list. You may have to select "Get
New Groups" from your menu bar. Actually, you WILL have to do that. Anyway,
come on over and join us, there aren't many right now soooo.....
OKAY AGAIN,
This top ten album thing is *really* getting out of proportion. I know that
I suggested the idea, but I wish I hadn't. There are 1000+ people on this
list and I think most of us are just starting to realize that now.
AAARGGHHH. So, if you're reading this, I'm sure most people would appreciate
the top ten album game to stop. I would. That's all.

ho armchairites!!! (as in greetings)
the day has come...i have taken the shrine that is the ben folds piano
scorebook, and transcribed the first of many songs to my computer for your
sing-along pleasure. the first installment is julianne. well in progress
are underground and jackson cannery, and in the beginningsare boxing and
the last polka. you have no idea how long these take, especially when i
work on three or four at a time....julianne just happened to be the first
done, probably because it's the easiest. for this midi file, go to
http://comp.uark.edu/~adeliss and scroll to the bottom of the page to
where it says julianne, then figure it out yourself from there.
disclaimer: this is the piano score only...there are no drumbeats to it or
melody line (except that most of the melody is in the piano part)...it is
strictly what is in the book for your listening and singing enjoyment.

have fun!!

ok,
here goes. (as usual, no order)

1. Revolver - Beatles
2. Veedon Fleece - Van Morrison
3. #1 Record/Radio City (single CD) - Big Star
4. Pet Sounds - The Beach Boys
5. The Harder They Come Soundtrack - Jimmy Cliff
6. Kind of Blue - Miles Davis
7. Modern Lovers - s/t
8. Buddy Holly - From the Original Master Tapes
9. Murmur - R.E.M.
10. Velvet Underground & Nico - VU

wow, i left off so many good records. Honorable mention must go to a few new
records that i probably couldn't live without either - namely: The Wrens -
Secaucus; BFF - both; Cake - Fashion Nugget and Fountains of Wayne. The late
nineties bode well for intelligent pop.
