Subject: Hello, piano players!

Any fellow (friendly) piano players out there? Hi. If you have figured out
any of the bff songs on piano, PLEASE mail them to me as soon as you can.
Even if it's just chords (though actual sheet music is preferred) anything
and everything will be a great help!

Also...has any one boughten the Songbook for the first album? I'm rather
skittish about buying it because on the "official" webpage, it says it
contains "simplified versions that anyone can play". But I want the hard
music! If you've got the book, please tell me about it.

Thanks again.

Never thought that I'd be submitting anything so quickly after just getting
on the list, but I must agree with Nancy. After going home last night and
listening and listening to "Brick", I think that we are talking about an
AIDS test, thus his "dying for me" line. Just a quick thought to share and
steer us from this other topic about which some of us think it might be.

But I truly think that that is what it all leads to.

P.S. I'd really like to get some BF5 live stuff, but only have a ton of DMB
to trade for it. Any takers?

greetings all. im new here but i just wanted to take a moment to proclaim my
share of cyber space in the BFF galaxy by way of the HORDE fest's stop in
Kansas City (it was Bonner Springs actually but that place sucks so we'll
pretend it was KC).
needless to say, you guys were exceptional, and for most, i would say that
BFF was the highlite of the day only contested by the heat. (people kept
asking me if i had any acid, and the only thing i could think of was, 'in
this weather???')
i would, however, like to express some qualms i've been harboring since the
show; just little details that really chapped my hide about the performance.
they are as fallows:
1) the fuckin' seven-foot, semper-fi reject in front of me who wouldn't get
out of my way the whole show except to lean over to his equally annoying
friend to say, "the violin chicks are hot"
2)THIRTY MINUTES!!!! i know it's not up to you guys but that doesn't stop the
pain. I did notice, however, that you ran fifteen minutes over time. thank
you for that. i hope Primus didn't try to rumble with you guys.
3)i was really looking forwad to yelling "FUCK YOU TOO!" in Song for the
Dumped. oh well, maybe next time.
despite my petty remarks, it was definatly one of the best shows i've been
privy to. come back real soon, guys.

Hello! I am new to the list, so please forgive me if do something wrong!
(I am sure you will, y'all seem really nice.) Um, also, I adore writing
and hearing from people, so I would love to tell you all the story of how
much I love BFF if it appropriate! Also, you can email me at
pflatt@flash.net or stacyf@u.arizona.edu if you wanna chat w/ me about BFF
or anything.

Ok.. Did anyone see BFF at the Pima County Fairgrounds in Tucson, AZ last
April? How was that show? How about HORDE up in Phoenix?

Also, I hear you all talking about trading bootlegs. I have nothing from
BFF, but would love to get a hold of some of this stuff.

Um.. when I think of anything else, I'll post it. Until then, I am going
to wear out my BFF tapes (ich habe nicht CD Speiler!)...

Well...I'm going to HORDE! Hehehehe..one of my friends decided to take pity
on me as well as a day off of work, so I get to go now, and frankly, I
can't wait. Only approximately thirteen days or so until the big show at
SPAC! Hopefully I'll see others from the Armchair there...uhhh..I don't
know how we'll spot each other out..maybe I'll just keep saying Magical
Armchair or Frank Maynard under my breath until someone says something. And
as for the video..I liked it! I laughed..I gawked..and I must say, Robert
has got one of the best shoe collections I've ever seen before, it's
actually become kind of a topic of interest on the AOL folder they have.
Anyhoo...hope to see some of you at SPAC..ciao for now!

Hi,
re: the whole "Brick" interpretation, I originally got the impression that
the woman in question was mentally ill and my girlfriend's take was the
(pretty universal at this point) abortion angle. We've since switched
positions (idealistically - get your mind out of the gutter), so the
interpretation is still up in the air on this end. - Just thought I'd share.

Also, it was mentioned before, but I forgot, what's the bonus track on the
Japanese WEAEA? I saw it the other day for $30 bucks and that's a lot for
one song. I just bought the 2 Kate singles, and the stickers were reversed
too, so that seems to be pretty universal.

Thanks,
Worth

Hello, collective!

Is it possible to receive the Armchair as individual mail messages, or
does it only go out as the digest? I really do not like the digest
format, and would really like to switch if possible!

Thanks

Quick thoughts on the OAD video. Thought it was cool for my
non-concert-going roommates to see what BFF is like live. Maybe next
time I can convince them to get out of the house for a great show. I
already knew I'd like seeing the video, but was surprised when,
halfway through it, one of my roommates said, "if anybody's going to
save music, it's going to be THIS band." First, you must understand
that 3 of the 4 of us are musicians + are pretty cynical, both about
today's LAME scene and about the corporate nature of the industry, so
to hear him say that ANYTHING could save music was impressive.
Second, he hasn't shown the obsessive interest in BFF that I have, so
to hear him say that about, arguably, the best band in the world was
also good. Thirdly, I agree with him 100%. BFF shows the
all-too-rare combination of skill, intelligence, humor, and taste that
makes music worth listening too. In a world of Hanson, Spice Girls,
and Bush, it's refreshing!

Hey, take it easy on poor Paul 'The Shiv' Shaffer... I think it's an honor
that he chooses to use "Battle" on the show. True, they use it A LOT, and
his band is a bit large and given to excess at times. But Paul Shaffer is an
excellent musician. In fact, Paul and Ben's piano playing styles are quite
similar, more similar than Billy Joel or Joe Jackson or whoever. They're
both rockers but have that jazzy background. I'd like to hear more than the
first and last 5 seconds of their version of 'Battle'; actually I'd like to
hear them do one where Ben goes nuts, Paul could do the solos justice.
In defense of an (angry?) dwarf,
Joe

Next time somebody posts a review of a show, try to do more than say
"Morphine sucked" "Big Head Todd was good." IT doesn't help those of us who
weren't there know what sucked. We all know BFF ruled but why not say
something about the other bands if your going to include them.

for the record (no pun), I have enjoyed the HELL out of the topten thread
here, it's positive non-flame threads that make a list WORTH reading
between large events for the band we're all here to chat about.

but goes out to <rsnead@awod.com>, who obviously has been part of mailing
lists as long as my invisible friend has been employed by Microsoft. Any
asshole who thinks we can pick apart a group and make it absolutely
enthralling reading day in and out, is an arrogant petulant annoying
narrowminded fuck, and if he existed here online i know a few people who'd
wanna box his ass one.

Mailing lists are like little cities or dorm communities of people with one
similar interest. I admit to having complained about the non-BF5 content
here, but when something truly INTERESTING comes up, I am not about to sit
back and whine like a fucked bitch.

Ok, EVERYONE...just for this fuck <rsnead@awod.com>, let's all start up the
ever-popular threads about Brick, the supposed illegal nature of live
tapes, and Ben's hands being too small...ok? I know and you all know
that's just what this prick wants. Make him happy, kids...thanks...

Anyways, If you were wondering
Bhagavad Gita:a philisophic diologue that is sacred Hindu text, found in
