Hey Everyone,

As you all probably know, She Don't Use Jelly is a Flaming Lips song,
covered by BFF on the lounge-a-palooza CD. So just for all you special
people, here are the lyrics to this EXCELLENT song:

She Don't Use Jelly

i know a girl who thinks of ghosts
she'll make you breakfast
she'll make you toast
she don't use butter
she don't use cheese
she don't use jelly
or any of these
she uses vaseline
vaseline
vaseline

i know a guy who goes to shows
when he's at home and he blows his nose
he don't use tissues or his sleeve
he don't use napkins or any of these
he uses magazines
magazines
magazines

i know a girl who reminds me of cher
she's always changing
the color of her hair
she don't use nothing
that ya buy at the store
she likes her hair to be real orange
she uses tangerines
tangerines
tangerines
tangerines
tangerines
tangerines

I hope this helps...

Your BFF Buddy

Paul May

Latest dream: I went into a coffeeshop, and there was an upright piano
in a nook in the back. The place was deserted. I sat down and started
playing BoWCCL, but the soundtrack playing in my head in the dream was
the CD version (excellent), not what it would sound like if I were really
playing it (lame), so I'm thinking, "Wow! I could never play this that
well before!" I closed my eyes and leaned back to enjoy it as I
continued, and that should have been my second major clue that I was
dreaming, because no way could I play BoWCCL with my eyes closed.

Oh, and for those of you who email me after I post stuff like this and
ask about the availability of BF5 sheet music, sorry, but I play by ear.
I think the sheet music from the first album sold out (it was available
on the band's website), and nothing from the second album has been
published. However, some people have written out chord charts to some of
the songs from the first album, and Frank's got them on the web site
(http://oeonline.com/bff). For the second album, I did a simple
transcription of BoWCCL, available on my website
(http://pobox.com/bluejay), and I just now did Brick, posted it below
since it's not on my website yet.

Please let me know if any of you find these transcriptions useful, 'cause
I'm not gonna spend any more time doing them unless people are actually
getting any benefit out of them.

BRICK by Ben Folds (Five), 1997
 This almost accurate transcription by
 Michael Bluejay (bluejay@pobox.com)

Notes:

(1) The bass and bass piano in this song are usually just the root note
of the chord (D, G, etc.). So for piano playing, you'll usually play
just the root note and its octave and not a D chord, or a D9 chord, etc.
The chords are written for the benefit of guitar players who are playing
without the help of a soloist (whose melody combined with the bass notes
or plain chords would give the impression of D9, G6, etc.)

(2) I only wrote out one verse, since the song repeats itself.

O.K Im sure you Australians are cool and all, but I could give a flying
fuck what the hell this rage crap is, the Armchair has gone from BFF
discussion, to what the hell is happening on Rage. I dont care, Im sure no
American cares, and frankly, Rage sucks. I haven't even seen it, but it
sounds like they are copping a feel on MTV.

And another thing. No one in Pearl Jam is a better musician than the boys.
Particularly Jeff Ament. The only thing Jeff is better than Robert at is
not showering. Pearl Jam sucks fat whale wad, and they should all be burned
to remove that putrid stench of not showering from their worthless bodies.
The fact that you compared them to the greatest band in the universe in
sickening, I think you and your potty mouth should be washed with soap just
like Pearl Jam needs to be.

In response to Smarshal1@aol.com's comment..

Pj vs. BFF.. i dunno.. two completly different bands, so when ya call me on
my talent comment, i have no real basis to defend myself since i don't know a
whole ton about Pearl Jam except for my knowledge from like 2 years ago when
i was into them. But nonetheless, i'd say just the fact that pj is just
- -another- guitar based band while BFF is a new sound, not to mention the fact
that they harmonize, is definitly a whole bunch of points for BFF.

Well, maybe i should shut up though, since i don't really know what i'm
talking about.
