I just saw BFF at the Supper Club in NYC yesterday. It was my first BFF show!
I could not have expected more. My friends & I got there about 5:30 and the
line was still short, so we were psyched. We got all the way up to the stage
(being 5 feet tall, that was the only way I was going to be able to see Ben,
Darren, & Robert).
The opening bands were good, in my opinion. Verbow was ok, & Travis was good.
In between opening bands, they played Fountains of Wayne, which made the
waiting a little more bearable.
Then, Ben Folds Five came out. The concert seemed similar to the ones I have
been reading about. During Song for the Dumped, somebody threw a black t-shirt
at ben. Later on in the show, he stood on his piano & changed into it. I
really enjoyed the whole show. It was awesome. Now, I can't wait to go to
another show!

After reading recent concert setlists, I ask Where's Summer B? I mean,
really, WHERE's Summer B?? I hope they play it in Philly. (And maybe even
chant "Eat that cheesesteak" during that middle part of Stephen's Last Night.
(BTW, that's an obscure Philadelphian food reference for those around the
globe.))

Anyway, Misconstrued lyrics part #754: During BOWCCL, my daughter always
sings "Sometimes I wish I was...fat free." Joanne

For Skip A.:
Just wanted to say "Donkeychains" for the chords and compliment him on the
awesome sig quotes!

For Everyone:
Does anyone have any (non-easy) sheet music for piano? I've been looking
everywhere for some. I heard there is some overly-simplified stuff out
there, but I was hoping to find something on a more advanced level.

Thanx!

hi guys! i went to the show at the supper club in nyc last night...wow!! it
was sooo good!! almost as good as my first time ever seeing them (which is
coming pretty close). i met darren and robert...we were waiting on line
outside and these two guys walk out and walk in the other direction and i
recognized robert from the back and said to the people i was sitting with
"ok, and i think i just saw robert sledge, so i'll be right back." so, i got
up and walked after them and they were turning to go into the hotel next door
and i said "darren" and he turned around and was all excited that someone
recognized them and told robert to come back outside (he had gone in because
he didn't see darren had stopped because he was in front of them) and by that
time, my friend got there and she took my pictures with the two of them. i
was soooo excited!!! anyways, the concert itself was amazing, too. verbow was
decent...i live for their bassist, luc, he was standing right in front of me.
that guy sure does have energy!! i thought the floor was going to
collapse...it was getting pretty shaky and i kept having to move my hand so
he wouldn't jump on it!! then came travis, WOW!!! i live for them! i bought
their cd about 2 weeks ago and they were so incredible in concert. i knew all
the words to all their songs, so it ruled. and i am IN LOVE w/their lead
singer (fran!!) and their keyboard player. the keyboard player kept smiling
and winking at me. it ruled!! as for ben folds five, they were GREAT!! they
had sooooo much energy! kept talking to the crowd...just were overall
hysterical!! more in my next post.... --jess

ok, i'm back...anyways, robert and ben kept pretending they didn't know how
to talk. they kept stuttering and stuff at the beginning. it was funny. then,
they were talking about 'one angry dwarf' and ben goes "people always ask me
if it was autobiographical and i say 'do we look like the kind of guys who
got our asses kicked in school?' it's from the other point of view...of all
the asses we had to kick!'" or something along the lines of that...robert did
his line of underground in some crazy disco thing...it was hard to
explain...cool thing of the night--my friend who i went w/brought a black
tshirt (ala, song for the dumped) and wrote on it w/iron on letters 'jessica
and rachel love ben folds five'. so she threw it to him and at the end of the
show, he picked it up, took off his shirt, and put that one on! how cool is
that!!! anyways, enough for now...if someone doesn't post the song list, i
will try my best to do that...people who were there--EMAIL ME!! i wanna hear
what everyone thought...and if anyone else likes travis, please please email
me!! ok??
one last thing....there was a kid next to my friend rachel...he said he
wanted ben to play song for the dumped in japanese and was with a lot of
friends and was standing all the way to the left of the stage...he said he
had gotten a set list offline, so i figured that meant he was on the mailing
list...and he kept talking about bar mitzvahs (i know that sounds very
random)....if this sounds like anyone else out there, will that person please
email me? i was the girl w/the short brown hair, green sweater (had a white
shirt on underneath), knew the words to travis (one of your buddies commented
on that)...alrighty...email me! later! have a nice day. --jess
