I saw BF5 in New York City last night (show #4 for me!) and I have to say
that, except for the idiotic, beer guzzling slob in front of me, it was the
most fantastic show!! Everything was perfect! The banter on stage was
hysterical (during the beginning of "Underground", Robert went off on a
little bass solo involving his deep desire to be a Disco Queen, Darren told a
story about some chicks in an elevator saying his soul was too old, Ben took
off his shirt at the end, etc. etc. etc.). I'm sure someone else will post
the set list, it was incredible.

The best part?? We hung out afterward and waited for the band. Robert scooted
out pretty fast after the show (we didn't try to stop him, he looked way
busy), but Darren stopped and signed an autograph and let us take a picture,
and then, half an hour later, Ben came out and did the same. They were SO
incredibly sweet. What great guys, what a great band!!!

Oh, new opening band for this show - Travis. After seeing Kim Fox at Cornell,
I was thrilled to see any other opening band. I liked Travis. It wasn't all
brilliant, and they seemed a little pompous, but they had quite a few catchy
songs.

Love me some Ben Folds Five!!!!

No, I think I know who you were (I was about center stage, long brown hair,
glasses), but this guy was center stage, not really that tall.
It wasn't just that he was jumping and blocking people's view, but that he
was also hitting people with his flailing arms and jumping on their feet.

You can't go to a BFF concert and not dance, no matter how tall you are, so
I can completely sympathize with you--and if you get there early, you
should be entitled to be up front. But one doesn't need to hit people
and ruin their dancing, etc., which is more what I (and people around me)
had a problem with.

Anyway, a minor complaint on a great concert, where I came to the epiphany
that Robert should be my husband.

westminster show, tell me how it was. well, maybe not, i don't want to
cry. hey, just do it quickly please. (i'm kidding, i'm delerious)

Hi Ya'll!!! Everyone seems to be really bummed out about the track-list
for Naked Baby Pictures because it has so many b-side songs. I just had
to add my 2-cents in and say that I'm really happy about it. No one
knows who Ben Folds Five is down here (except for anyone who is EVER
around me), and I had a hard enough time getting their albums, let alone
their singles. So I'm really glad that I'll finally get to hear some of
these songs. I can't wait for it to come out!!!!!!! all right, I'm done
with my little speech now. Bye!!!!

Hey Eric, or anyone else who could answer:

What time is the show at Notre Dame? I would be there in a minute except
that I've got at test that night and I go to Purdue. But, if it's a
later show, I'll get somebody to get me up there. Then Eric wouldn't be
the only non-Irish there, and we could all unite in the spirit of BF5.

And one more thing to Garrick. I know how you feel about the height
problem, though I have about 5" less to deal with. All I can say is get
up front, have fun, and apologize to everyone behind you... after the
show.

for your troubles. E-mail me please.

hey people!

this is to all the aussies out there (and to all of you who have heard
amatuer lovers)...

i was listening to the radio (yup...your station, mike!) and these
guys were talking to the dj, blah blah blah. i was only half listening,
but then one of them said that they had toured with bff in australia!!
oh boy!! what lucky men!! so, i was wondering if any of you who heard
them liked them, and feel free to give your comments, too, mike stone!
(he is a very cool dj on a very cool radio station in spokane)

oh, and this is really random, but i know that there are a few dmb
fans out there. i have noticed that the intro to "tripping billies"
sounds A LOT like the theme to "growing pains" that is kooky.

i promise this is bff-related, just keep reading.

my one-year anniversary with my girlfriend is coming up in december. i
have a really neat idea for a gift, but i need a second opinion. i
would say right here and now what the gift is, but seeing as she's on
the armchair as well, i can't really do that (haha, stacy, thought you
were gonna find out :P ).

anyway, the gift is bff-related, sort of. so if anyone wants to e-mail
me privately, i'll tell you what the gift is, and you can tell me what
you think.

thanks in advance to anyone who decides to help me out.

oh, btw, i can't wait for naked baby photos to come out. sure i have
some of the songs already, but now i'll have them in one place. it's
very convenient for lazy-ass fans like myself.

the one I've been couting down to...
Ben Folds Five on Sessions... Jane's Addiction on SNL... and Brick on 120
Minutes...
I've had the flu since Tuesday, so you can see how TV could become the
highlite of my weekend...
I even woke up five times in the last two nights in panic that I missed BFF
on Sessions, as pathetic as it sounds...
AND NOW I FIND OUT THAT I DON'T EVEN GET THAT ****ING SHOW IN MY STATE...
and if it's not enough that BFF has made ONE, just ONE, measly appearance to
my state, and that one time with HORDE, and me very very inconveiniantly out
of town then...
AH!!! I CAN'T TAKE IT ANYMORE! I had tickets to see them open for CC, they
cancled! I HATE PBS!!! THEY SUCK!!! THIS SUCKS! I'M PISSED OFF! I'M REAL
PISSED OFF.

Damn it....

Greetings.
I just found out (thank goodness for friends that read newspapers) that
at the same time Ben Folds Five will be on Sessions tonite, they will
also be broadcasted on 89.9 KCRW (think "Morning Becomes Eclectic"
w/Chris Douridas, also host of "Sessions"). So anyone in the L.A. area
that has access to 89.9 can record it. I know I will.

Take care.
