Hey, all you armchai-ites!!!

I used to be on the list, then my e-mail stopped working, finally got a
new address, and finally resubbed! :) Woohoo! (If you remember, i was
the girl who liked Bruce Springsteen -- he really is the boss -- and who
went to the Chicago HORDE, but didn't get to meet up with all of you
guys!)!!

Anyway, just a few questions...

01... So, how are all you LA bff-fans?! ready for this weekend?! :)
just flood my box -- even if you're not gettin' the cool opp. to see our
band! :)

02... philosophy -- god this is an awesome song! I will never get over
it! Just so inspiring!

03... bff story ... Soooo, I was at school (as usual), and I saw this
guy wearing a "whatever..." shirt -- and we actually became friends
(well, more like "hi" in the hall acquaintences) b/c of bff! See, it'll
one day bring the world together! :)

04... any band suggestions? I was just wonderin' `cause i wanna explore
the whole music realm (not that i'm not satisified w/ bff, dmb, and the
boss -- just addin' a little flavor!)!!

05... well, farewell, and have a nice night! Armchairs are definitely
the best! :)

Whatever and ever,
Melissa

"you got no philosophy" ~bff~
"seems poured from the hands of angels" ~dmb~
"baby i was born to run" ~the boss~
"the man who would be santa slips into the room..." ~vertical horizon~

so...............
on my christmas list:
bill holman does t monk
radiohead's ok computer
ben harper's a will to live
and the gladhands latest. phish has a new one out?
so i've been lax in buying cds lately.

we're always saying what's in our changer.......we never give recommendations
as to what new to put in there...........
now i should say something trite like: "ooh man, do i love brick."
i am curious as to exactly what is on the b-sides to the singles and i do
eagerly await naked baby pics, but.........i think it's safe to say many of
us have been enjoying brick for a while now.

question: does anyone out there who plays know much about old moogs?
(i may soon have access to one, but it sounds like it'll need work...the
hammer, duct tape--joke, i sure hope--and screwdriver and glue type.)
how much is one worth as an investment, even marginally "antique"?
i have liked their sound for a while.......let me know.

They should first go on Conan O'brien--He is alot better and funnier than
the two aformentioned talkshow hosts. He has a late time slot, but we all
know we will stay up 1:30 to watch Ben and his other 4 (2).

That was a truely pertinent, and poetic statment. Instead of an FAQ lets
do a RAQMN of the Repetitively Asked Questions of Most Newbies. Just
kidding I love all of you, including the nubies.

Petra a great poet in our own time...That touched me :)

Ben plays an old Baldwin. It's not that it's necessarily cheap, but
it's just so beat-to-sh*t from all his years of abusing it in his own
special way that makes it sound tinny @ times.

Subject: Review/Comments on Denver Show

I arrived at the Denver show kind of unhappy, because, having arrived in
town recently, I didn't have tickets and planned to purchase them at a
local record store. They only took cash, and I only had my VISA on me, so I
couldn't get tickets there. I then went to the Ogden theatre and found that
THEY only accepted cash only (Which is completely retarded), so I drove the
30 miles home and 30 miles back to the Ogden now armed with cash, and 15
minutes late for the start of the show. I was really scared that I was
going to get bad seats due to my late arrival, but I went inside about 3
songs away from the end of Old Pikes set. What can I say about Old Pike
except that they don't have a bright future in the music business. Their
music is indistinguishable from the rest of the crap that the teeny bopper
seen listens to. Thank god I was almost through with their set. They
thanked the crowd, and got off quickly. During Travis' setup time, I took
my time to examine the crowd. I am pretty critical of crowds, but this one
looked typical denver. A few lesbians, a lot of teenagers, a lot of
beatiful women, and a lot of punks. The group of kiddies standing next to
me in the "mosh pit" area(Right in front of the stage) was telling a really
fascinating story about how their mom's let them go to the concert, but
ONLY because they were in their group, AND because they had 1st and 2nd
hour off. I have no problem with high school kids, I obviously once was
one, but I have a problem when they are at the concert SOLELY because Brick
is the only song they know, and half of them were closer to the stage than
I was. Travis came on, and while I wasn't impressed with them, I found that
they had a great sense of humor, and were REALLY into the music. The lead
singer kept complaining about the altitude, which I found humorous, but
most Coloradans do. Finally Travis got off and the Boys got on stage. They
looked to be in a chipper mood, moreso than the Westminster show, in which
they appeared to be in a lackluster mood. The setlist was identical to the
Austin show. I don't know if anyone knows this, but every setlist is
identical, they just change the city name on the top of it. This time
though, they actually played the real Julianne, with a REALLY funkdified
intro, kind of a swing funk thing, not lounge swing. For their finale they
played SFTD and she dont use jelly. I was really psyched because I A)Hadn't
heard it live before(The Lounge-A-Palooza version is MUCH better) and B)I
knew the words, unlike most of the crowd. All in all it was a good show,
not great, but very good. Part of my un-enjoyment was due to my extreme
dislike of smoking, and this was a VERY smoky place, it has been in every
show I have ever been to. The one bonus was that I met this really hot
chick named Ashley Brothers. She tried to convince me that she knew Ben,
because during the show Ben asked "Is there anyone named Ashley here" and
she said yes. But Ben was referring to a lady that he had gone to Junior
High with, and not her, but I found it humorous, and it didn't hurt that
she was a honey. Anyways, I have a girlfriend, so it's not like anything
would have developed, but she was really hot and I have a lot of single
friends that would be into her. My one fear was that she was underage. I
wasn't in a pimping mood so I didn't score up her number. We hung out for a
while after the show trying to get an autograph from the boys, but the
staff at the Ogden apparantly decided that they wouldn't let us watch them
rape barnyard animals or something, becuase they did everything they could
to kick us out as quick as possible.

P.S If anyone IS Ashley Brothers, or knows a girl named Ashley Brothers
from Denver that is into the boys, E-Mail me.
