For all you who didn't know:

Ben Folds Five is
just a band.

Robert Sledge, Darren Jesse, and Ben Folds
are just men.

and so are you.

When is the official SNL date? My friends said that SNL said it was DEC
20, not JAN 10. Im confused, I dont know who to trust, I cannot miss it!
It would make sense that they stay in NY this week, but I do not know! I
need guidance, the official word from above!

About a month ago someone posted a web address to a font patterned after
the writing on the Ben Folds Five albums. I think it was called "Font Of

engines. Any clues?

Hi.
Personally I'd like to seem them do Phillip the Hyper-Hypo w/Mike Myers
and have the guys play little kids, or have them shopping at Gap with
the Gap Girls--Sandler and Spade, or have the Motivational speaker,
Farley, lecture them about smoking doobies. Two words: WAYNE'S WORLD!
I like old SNL, but I guess that probably doesn't count :)

Ben Folds Five was on Are-Oh-Vee on Sunday night doing some "live video"
thing. My friend taped it for me but I have no idea what it is yet and
I was wondering if anyone else knew.

Ben Folds Five in YM?!! Young and Modern, yeah that's Ben Folds Five
:P I also heard they play "Uncle Walter" at Brass Plum, the junior
section at Nordstrom's department stores. Ick :P

Fun.
Janet.

Here they are, not as they were printed on setlists but as they were
actually played. Those of you who have seen a BFF setlist at a show may
have noticed that the band never actually follows it.
'Escape of the Lizard' is what Trey called 'Pyser' before the band named
it.

Great thought, but I just spent a week working with the Klezmatics, and spoke
to a couple of them about recording with BFF, so I'm sure that if there were
any plans for them to do the SNL date they would have mentioned it.

I'm not sure if this has previously been posted, but I found this REALLY cool web
site with 3 BFF concerts (including conversation) in Real Audio. It is
www.liveconcerts.com They're under the KCRW section in the archives. The first is
from Oct. 95 and the other two are from this past summer and are about 40 to 50
mins each. I haven't listened to all of them all the way through, but what I did
hear kicked butt. So if you've never been....check 'em out.

Had this not been completely and totally clever, I would have been a bit
upset at the bastardization of one of the most dramatically powerful songs
I can name. However, only by sheer and utter cleverness do you squeak by
without a flaming.

> Yeah, we're all big

But Eric! You can't deny that knowing a guy is really really into Ben
Folds Five doesn't exactly peg him as a wife-beatin' dumbass jerkov (It's
Russian). Nothin's wrong with liking sex and professional sports and beer
and lots of other "insensitive guy" things; but most guys who really listen
to BFF would, I daresay, claim there's more to life than that. (This is
not to say I have anything against sex or beer, although beer may have
something against me.) A "sensitive guy" for example, doesn't necessarily
like "The Family Circus". (Why is this comic in print?)

This is the most amazing thing I have ever heard.

My personal favorite is, "Oh my God! I love your shirt! I was never cool
either!" and I say, "Oh, are you a fan?!?" "Of.....?"

So, I unsubscribe. I'm leaving tomorrow for home, and while I have access
to email there, I don't have it often. I'm gonna take my sweet ass outta
here. Miss me?

Did anyone in the SoCal area catch Are-Oh-Vee last night? At the end of this
local music video program, they showed a live clip of Ben Folds Five doing
"Underground." It must've been a bit old, because Robert's hair was a LOT
shorter than it is now. It was a really funny clip, especially when Ben and
Robert said their lines a la Edith Bunker. Cute!!! =)

I was wondering where and when this was filmed at? If anyone can recall??

Hey, I don't know if anyone has talked about this, since I haven't read much
of my Armchairs lately, but how about this:

It probably won't do any good, since we're all mere cogs in the wheels of the
Machine which governs all our lives and controls us with unseen tentacles, but
I wrote Saturday Night Live at snl@nbc.com and begged them to let the boys
play more than once, and to let them be in a sketch (I lied and said I'd met
them and they were really funny). Like I said, someone may have already
suggested it, and it probably won't do any good, but it can't hurt, I guess.
