I always thought that the "mortar, block and glass", the "helmet head"
and the "torch" all had something to do with NYC and the Statue of
Liberty. What does everyone else think? Actually, don't tell me, I'm
sick of getting so many f*cking armchairs in my mailbox every day! :)

Well, I've finally unlocked the secrets hidden within WAEA, and it was
interesting. I accidently deleted Duke Nukem 3D from my computer, trying to
increase the amount of memory I had left on my drive..my dad's gonna kill me
because this is the second time I've done it, whoops. I'm a big fan of
Pong...together Ben and I shut out our opponent, his head is an excellent

This could sound dumb since I haven't been keeping up with the armchair lately,
but....I was reading the (small) article on NBP in the new Alternative Press and the
end of it mentioned that as well as working on a third album after this next tour,
Ben will also be releasing a solo album called "Fear of Pop". Anyone else heard of
this? Just curious.

Hello!
	(Usual first-post tripe deleted)
Hi to all who know me, and of course, to the rest of you as well. :)
NBP rocks. It makes me want to stay home from work and listen to it all
day. (Very bossy, the CD is.)
My bizarre question that brought me out of lurking mode is this: For
all of you who are diehard Billy Joel fans, doesn't the guitared
"Emmaline" sound a lot like "Famous Last Words" off River of Dreams? Or
am I just nutso?
Majorly psyched for the Palace,

Subject: Only me...

Hi, hi, hi

Thankfully, I'm back after a long Christmas break. All that time
without the Armchair! Erk!. Unfortuantely, the ol' exams are on at
the moment, but they'll all be over by Saturday night, when I can
really start celebrating my 21st bday. Hoorah!

Aaaaanyway... I got hold of NBP on Tuesday, so I suppose I should
throw my couple of pence worth in. All in all, a nice CD. It's not
going to be dragged out time and time again, but I've only two
complaints, which are a)Fanny Packs is overlong and just gets tedious
after a few listens. I've already started skipping it. Maybe it
should have gone on as a secret track or something. b) is that
there was no Video Killed The Radio Star or Crosstown Traffic, but
that already got covered here a couple of months back so I'll leave
it alone.

I see reviews were very mixed. NME gave it 4 out of 10, whereas Q
gave it 4 out of 5. Apparently the Daily Telegraph didn't rate it so
highly. I haven't seen the Melody Maker review. Any ideas? I'll get
some of these reviews up as soon as I can on my web site.

Enough. Revision calls... Nice to be back. >8)

I'm sitting here reading the Michigan Daily, quite possibly the
biggest piece of amateurish literary crap I've ever set my eyes on (I know
you're thinking, 'Then why does he read it if it's so bad?' The answer is
twofold: 1, the comics and 2, it's my only link to the outside world.) and
they're doing their wrap up of the years best music. Guess who made the #2
spot right behind Radiohead? Yup, WAEA was appreciated in Michigan. Two of
the staff even had it as their best album of the year, and one of those
guys had NBP on his list too! I may have to re-evaluate them after all.
Anyway, I won't be writing until after the weekend, 'cause I'm headed to
Atlanta to see my Pop. Laters all! Hail Eris!

Of course Jared will get flamed...as will you...as will EW. That is
one of the most ridiculous questions of all time...Who deserves a
rarities/outtakes album? Let's get first things first...it's really a
rarities/b-sides/live album. No real outtakes, that kinda stuff goes on
the Beatles Anthology and their usually just bad versions of songs. Why
shouldn't BFF release this CD? Do they have enough quality songs is the
question? Well...NBP is the answer...there are 16 songs..and i'd say
about 15 are quality and one of em is just damn funny. Half of the CD
is live, and though I would have preferred a much later recorded version
of Song For The Dumped (cause like the booklet says, it morphs...it gets
better each time i saw the boys...adding new stuff, new bassline to the
beginning...and just rocking) at least i have Julianne with the salsa
beginning. That alone merits a CD. I've never heard boxing performed
live before, so that too was great.
Emaline....yes, i did already have it...but it's an amazing song and
this is the guitar version, something I did not have before.
Tom and Mary...studio version...awesome.
See...that question is retarded. BFF could have released it 8 years
from now with the same exact songs and they'd probably get praised for
it. As for meriting a CD? Since when did Chumbawumba merit one? They
released it anyhow.
The CD is for the fans according to BFF. Caroline released it most
likely to milk the last remaining dollars out of the band.
I personally don't care why it was released. It's a CD from Ben Folds
Five and I am a fan. Many of us would love to get our hands on any BFF
item we can. I'm still wanting a whole live CD. So release it for the
fans, like they did. There are no guns to anybody's head. If you don't
like something, don't buy it. They don't merit it, don't buy it. But i
have to say...the leftover material of Ben Folds Five is much better
than some bands main material.
Not like Ben ain't recording in March anyhow. This will just hold us
over.

Sorry to rant. That was really a response to EW, not Jared and Amit.
