I have four extra tickets, on the floor to this gig. Any Armchair folks
interested on buying them at face value? I can't wait for this one,
the Warfield is a cool place to see a good show!

Hey all,

I was sitting in bed tonight when what comes on 120 Minutes but Uncle Walter.
I had never seen this video before so I was excited. If you haven't seen it,
it is great. Just wanted to share. I guess MTV is worth keeping after all.

It was Ben's attempt at being humorous to the English crowd. Apparently, he
handed out toothbrushes and deodorant to the London crowd, but they didn't
like get it or something?

There is now a Big Muff II made by somebody in Russia. I don't see a point in
buying a used Big Muff original when you can get pretty much the dame sound
from a Big Muff II (which is pretty easy to find) for almost half the price.

Hi Fellow Aussies,

Well I guess you all know that One Angry Dwarf was number 12 on the
Triple J hottest 100 today... we were having the obligatory Australia
day Barbeque and swim, and we were in the pool when they announced it,
and everyone went apeshit.

For the Non-aussies on the list, Triple J is a non-commercial radio
station, and they actually play really good music: most of the time.

For the They might be giants fans, I think New York City placed around
the 50s... and number one was the Whitlams. I recommend anyone who likes
BF5 to check them out, they're a really great Aussie band.

Well that's enough from me, what a sad git, on the computer on Australia
day while the sun is still shining.

Oh, wondrous paradise. Imagine the Spice Girls being foisted on you
only as late as March 1997..... Unfortunately, Will, here in the UK,
piggy, tarty, shouty, about-as-posh-as-my-arse, and downright ugly
Spice have been on the radio constantly since about July 1996. Which
would explain it.... Plus the fact that Ben said "*We* are the Spice
Girls, *we'll* be back in March". In case you're wondering, the
openers at that show were Montrose Avenue (very good, starting to get
some publicity now), and The Diggers (pretty bland, released an
album, sank without trace).

Me again

I'm almost afraid to admit it but the Spice Girls have been around in the UK since
July 96 and Ben, being on the cutting edge of music of course, will have heard
of them, especially considering that they were in the UK in August of that year.

One and a half years of Spice Girls? Pity us Brits please.

Hello the 'Chair!

Well, well, well... the truce didn't last long, now, did it?

It must be the depression and bad mood that permeates each of BFF's albums
that causes such vitriolic spew on the Armchair. I mean, the band just
attracts these cranky fans with the type of material they choose to play.
Actually, I have recently heard that a parent in Des Moines, Iowa has begun
a lawsuit against BFF, stating that his child attempted suicide after
listening to Kate over and over again.

Is it any wonder we fail to sheathe our claws in our posts? Truly, each of
us knows what is and what is not entertaining to all others on this Daybed!
The posting of dreams? Pshaw! Why would anyone want to read someone's
attempt to reach out and share a part of themselves with those they think
may be like-minded individuals? Personal musings have no place on a public
forum like this! Don't these poor, misguided individuals know that those
who read the 'Chair only care to peruse requests for information? Just for
clarity -- the posts that are OK include: Does anyone have a bootleg of
7/9/81 show from the Farewell Tour? Does anyone have a ticket to the
Honolulu show? Does anyone know if that is a phone in Julianne? Does anyone
know if it is true that BFF will open for Hanson this June? What do you
think Satan is my Master is really about? Can anyone get me the chord
progression for FTOYWWFP? What does FTOYWWFP stand for? And, of course, the
subsequent answers are OK as well... Also OK are diatribes from anyone who
thinks they are a better fan than someone else... especially if that fan is
new to the Folds Fold. Better to turn off these new fans now, before they
contribute to making BFF even bigger. Also OK in the 'Chair are Pyramid
Scam posts... and actually, posting your dreams are OK, but ONLY if you
include the entire previous Digest in your post. Basically, if your post is
lighthearted in tone... think twice before hitting that "send" button.
Remember -- no one on the Armchair cares, OK?

Oh, and by the way... sarcasm is frowned upon. Many times it is not clear
to all others that you are being sarcastic, so it is much better if you do
not try to impose your so-called "humor" on them.

So, having said my piece, it is time for me to say Fare-thee-well to my
once beloved Armchair. Because when the MA starts putting you in a bad mood
every morning, it is time to vamoose.

But before I go, I want to thank Frank Maynard for being a true Class Act
- -- and Frank, I will be visiting your web site more often than ever now to
keep abreast of the all the skinny on BFF... So thanks for a great website
too! I'd also like to thank the fun people I met on this Loveseat... you
are all so $$$$$$$$ and I know I'll keep in touch with all of you. And to
those of you who have a sense of humor and have tried to save a sinking
'Chair (notably Erik, Sandi, Matthew, Tina, Emily, Carrie, Markus, Eric,
Dave, Lance and the new guy (FHudetz@aol.com-- he of the Schindler's List
comment... brilliant, man!) and those whose names I can't remember right
now, but you know who you are because I wrote to you!) -- keep up the good
fight, brothers and sisters. And Thanks again for all the laughs on the MA!

Bring it.

- -Anne

P.S. Actually, the real reason I'm leaving is because I found out that Ben
really isn't a gay crackhead and they won't be wearing spandex in the
forseeable future... and this is the only way I can save face.

P.P.S. And as my final contribution to the Armchair... I promise not to
send my unsubscribe request to the digest itself!

I must disagree - I love to read about people's BF5 dreams. Better than alot
of the morass that clogs up the list these days. As for "long-winded", dreams
are fairly low on the list of long-winded posts, in terms of sheer number.

People can post shortened versions of rather elaborate dreams here, and I
believe someone out there has a web site devoted to compiling BF5 dreams.

regarding Randy's "brick" post

I always figured brick was about an trip to the vet.. seems to make sense..

"6 am day after Christmas
I throw some clothes on in the dark
The smell of cold
Car seat is freezing
The world is sleeping
I am numb"

yeah, yeah...so its cold!!!

"Up the stairs to the apartment
She is balled up on the couch"

Buffy the pet dog

"her mom and dad went down to Charlotte
They're not home to find us out"

breaking and entering just to steal Buffy...how wrong!

"And we drive
Now that I have found someone
I'm feeling more alone
Than I ever have before

He isn't sure if Buffy loves him as much as he loves her

used a brick just to steal Buffy
Off the coast and I'm headed nowhere
used a brick just to steal Buffy

Well, that was self-explanatory!!

They call her name at 7:30"

Buffy Papagopaliski?? "Woof"

I pace around the parking lot
Then I walk down to buy her a chew toy
And sell some gifts that I got
Can't you see
It's not me you're dying (as in longing) for"

the author knows about Buffy's affair with Phideau down the street!!

"Now she's feeling more alone
Than she ever has before"

she's sad because the truth just came out.

"Used a brick just to steal Buffy
Off the coast and I'm headed nowhere
Used a brick just to steal Buffy

As weeks went by
It showed that she was not fine"

emotional problems due to the shaky relationship and the vet's probing.

rest of the song just backs things up..

pretty clear to me.
