DO NOT REPLY TO OFF-TOPIC OR INSULTING MESSAGES!!!
So many people are complaining about how much space these useless

problem by quoting or replying to these messages themselves.
Posts with no BFF content are off topic. So are posts of a moderating

hello!

I am not going to get into whether I am an emaline, or an Uncle Plastic
Bitch or whatever... although I got a great kick out of reading that, I
can't classify myself... I have been a fan since Underground, but have
never been able to get a hold of much in the way of singles, imports, early
stuff, ect... and I never got to see them live by virtue of my age (19,
not 21), and the fact that on their all ages gigs, I could absolutly not
get off work. I am fanatical about the boys though... I say "My Boys" and
the world knows of whom I speak... I am known as "Ben Folds Five's
ambassador to the U of Arizona." I open my mouth, and people say "let me
guess.. something about Ben Folds Five." Mostof the time they are right.
Although, I must admit, I do play it up for people, I don't think I am
quite as obsessed as they think I am... but close... I am very, very
close... and I will be seing them live in just 4 days!!!! Anyone else
going to the show in Phoenix, AZ? email me.

Loveline--it aws on last night, and I taped it. they played to BFF songs,
Brick, and SFTD. Recorded though, not live, only Ben was in the studio.
Ben talked a lot... about Australia, about the band, about a trip to Italy,
and he told the story about Brick. More details than ust that it is about
an abortion. I love this song all the more now. Ben got to talk a ton...
every other call was "Ben I love you..." instead of "I'm really screwed up
and need help." It was a great show. Anyway, I have this on tape, good
quality, and the interview itself is highly reccomended. I am willing to
do trades for any BFF stuff I do not have, whether it is bootlegs, videos,
t shirts, CDs, imports.. etc... just let me know what your offer is, and I
can probably work something out. As long as I don't already have it.
Boots I am especially looking for--Pima County Fairgrounds, Tucson, AZ last
april. PLEASE SAY A BOOT EXISTS FOR IT! I am also looking for boots with
the Ben Folds is a Sexy Mutherfucker jam, and any show played in AZ. Of
course, like I said, I will accept almost any offer so long as I don't
already have it. I also have other boots to trade if you don't want the
loveline one.

Thanks, happy listening! I AM SEEING THE BOYS LIVE!!!!!!! =-)

For anyone that knows, knew or wants to know, I'm leaving the list. I
guess I'm like most subscribers too the list. It's too hard to fish out
the messages that are relevant to me. Not saying it's a bad list, coz I
got on a tape chain and a MiniDisc chain here.
All those people that were on the tape chain in 96/97 and had their
tapes sent to Australia... Did any of you receive your own tape back? I
didn't. :) Oh well, it was great while it lasted. The Legendary Jim Ruiz
Group were my fave band that I heard. Love em.

BYE!!!

Okay here I go....

I was wondering if anybody could help me get my hands on BF5 sheet
music. I am starting to teach myself piano again and I thought it would
be really good if I could start with a few (simple!) tunes.

I know it is a big ask but I am afraid I am getting so desperate that I
have started to teach them to myself and it is not doing any justice to
their music.

I run the Ben Folds Five Trading Station and the bootleg index. I compile a
list of shows that are available. I am asking that if you tape a show on the
current tour, please e-mail me and notify me of the show you taped, so that we
can keep the records accurate. Thank you.

Hi everyone,
Well, the other day my brother said he heard Brick on JJJ here in
Oz, and apparently the DJ's were bagging the song out, sarcastically
saying that it sounded a whole lot like some REM song. Did any of you
Aussies out there here this? Just wanted to know what REM song they
were referring to, and which DJ's were making the comments.

Also, does anyone know if the Australian pressings of W&EA can be
used for the multimedia stuff at the ConnecteD web site??

Catcha!
Jodie

PS: Those of you who are getting to see BFF with the Gladhands as a
support band - I'M JEALOUS!!! What an awesome show, have fun!

If you read the linear notes (or didn't know already), it's a Built to
Spill cover. Even if Ben or anyone else had lived in Twin Falls, it
wouldn't matter, 'cuz they didn't write the song.

Well in pondering philosophy like could things have occured diffrently
given the same conditions I have thought about The song Video killed the
Radio Star.

I'm sure all of you who listen to the radio have listened to the
Presidents of the United States of Americas' version. Even though I don't
like the Presidents... too much, I think this song rocks.

I heard a while ago that BFF did a cover of the exact same song(mabye on
some single or just live?) And I wonder if the two versions sound alike
at all? If there is anybody out there who has the song--please give me
some insight.

Back to the Issue at hand...If BFF put their version out do you peeps
think that I could have reached single status(as did the pres of U.S of
A.)

Thats it for now

That is a live version of SFtD. Read the liner notes--Ben talks about
how quiet Japanese crowds are & any other recording anybody's ever made
in that country bears this statement out. Also, listen to how different
the drum part is @ the beginning & how much Robert screws around w/his
pickups during the break. C'mon, people, we're supposed to support
BFF--that's the whole point of this list--not accuse them of putting a
studio track out & calling it "live"--or debate Radiohead lyrics for
that matter. I'm sure Radiohead has several lists of their own!

I was listening back at my CMJ sample of March 1997, and I listened
to all the songs. There is a song that is in there that is quite
popular these days. Marcy Playground with Sex and Candy. Why did they
waited that long to put it as single? Can somebody help me? Has other
songs on that CD become hits? When I talk about that CD, it is the
one who has BOWCCL!

Ok, for those of y'all who have CMJ... I work at the campus radio station
at the UA as a DJ and in the human resources department, and our station
(KAMP 1570 AM, University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ) reports to CMJ... we also
get that magazine in the mail... BUT... I looked at the one that just
came, and BFF is not on the cover... there is no article, so if you would
please kindly tell me the month that the issue is, instead of "this CMJ" or
whatever... I could dig through and find it, or wait for it to come, or if
need be, call stores and buy the damn thing myself. Muchas gracias, please
email me privatly. Danke!

Twin falls was originally by "Built to Spill". They are actually a really

version i was like, WAIT. I think i have heard this before! And I had. I
must say that Ben's version is nicer, mo offense to Built to spill.

Is this going to turn into like a caste system where we won't be able to
associate with members of different classes? :) Just kidding...cuz if we
did that, I would only get to talk to myself, I think I'm between Whipper
and Uncle Plastic Bitch. Anyhooo...Hammerstein sold out? Interesting..I'm
gonna have to get my butt in line early then cuz I want good standing
room. And this goes out to all the tall people in the standing room..if
you see little people behind you, ask them if they want to stand in front
of you :) Being 5'3, I always manage to get behind some guy who's about
6'0 and I spend the entire concert looking at his back, it's somewhat
aggravating. Also..my friend who's going with me, she's practically a
midget, poor girl, she'll need a step stool to see over most people.
Having said this, she's probably reading it over my shoulder, she'll beat
me up later. About the Brick and Kate singles...where can I find them? The
only stores near me are Newbury Comics and Media Play..both of which
continue to disappoint me. Does anyone have catalog numbers for either of
the singles, because then I can order them. Umm...I guess that's all I
have to say, I have to go serve food to vicious college students.

Sarah :)
