I must say that the show was horrible. First of all, I couldn't hear
Darren's vocals very well. His drum set wasn't miked very well. They
didn't do underground. There were too many little kids, it was way too
crowded, I miss the old days when I could see them in Chapel Hill bars. Ben
told me afterwards that he was sorry for singing to my girlfriend Rachel,
but I forgave him. He also said that Steinway was asking him about a Ben
Folds signature piano, but that he probably wouldn't do it.

Hello! I just joined the mailinglist. Anyways, I just took in a wonderful
show at the Phoenix Concert Theatre, in Toronto, Ontario. It was a
fabulous show, maybe I'll give a personal review later if anyone is
interested. What I really wanted to post was the setlist:

1. Some Lounge Standard (please correct if wrong. This is that
instrumental they play that includes the
                                             theme from 'Pulp Fiction')
2. Battle Of Who Could Care Less
3. Philosophy
4. Selfless, Cold, & Composed
5. Missing The War
6. Last Polka
7. Steven's Last Night In Town
8. Fair
9. Yo Yo Ma (cover)
10. Yo Yo Ma (improv)
11. Brick
12. Kate
13. Jackson Cannery
14. Song For The Dumped
15. Eddie Walker
16. Uncle Walter
17. She Don't Use Jelly
18. One Angry Dwarf and 200 Solemn Faces

Encore

1. Boxing
2. Underground

BTW, I also made a copy of the show. If interested in trading and would
like more details about the recording itself, please feel free to mail me
at mattl@niagararc.com

Later!!

It sure is alot easier to get BFF info here than waiting for the
mainstream press to get on the bandwagon. That CMJ coverstory is long
overdue.
I'm not a new "BRICK" type fan. After hearing BOWCCL on the radio last
summer, I had to buy Whatever & Ever Amen. I was afraid BOWCCL was the
one track I would like. But no, it was genius from beginning to end. I
had to see them live.
The closest the H.O.R.D.E festival came was 4 hrs. away from my armpit
of Ontario, Can. home. (Welland?) Did I go to Syracuse? And how! Did I
dig the 20 minute set they played. You bet! Was anyone else in Vernon
Downs on August ...6th? The 20 minute BFF performance put groups like
the mainstagers Primus and Kula Shaker ('member them?) to shame.
I was hooked, the next date close to me Hallowe'en night Lakewood, OH.
About a three hour trip. Worth it? Hell yeah.
So I drove 22 hrs. round trip for 3 hrs 20 minutes of BFF.
Worth it? Damn straight.
Was anyone else on Armchair in Cleveland that night?
I'd like to reminisce with someone on priv. e-mail.
Or just do tape trades.
I have a 45 min. tape (good quality) CFNY 102.1 tape to offer.

Thanks for letting me speak.
I'll be lurking.

I'm newish to the list and could use some help. I would love a
bootleg of the Hammerstein show - specially if they opened with
the "They Might Be Giants" song "New York City. Regardless I would
like to get ahold of any boots. I don't have any to trade, but I
did work with Hanna-Barbara for three years and have some items
from there I would be willing to trade.

Hey all, I taped 120 Minutes Sunday night, so if anyone wants it, let me
know. If anyone out there taped the San Francisco show at the Warfield,
*definitely* let me know and maybe we can trade! :) I taped it in like, SLP
or something, so it's probably not all that wonderful quality, but if you
want to see it, here it is.

Let me know!

Oh yeah, my boyfriend was looking up "The Muppet Show Album" on Infoseek or
something, and he found this article ... take a look!

Well, I think one word can describe the band right now....tired. This was
my 6th time seeing them, and Ben looked like he was going to fall asleep
on stage at times (that is, until after the encore when he climbed up to
the 2nd floor balcony). The setlist was a nice mix, but overall, there
just didn't seem to be alot of energy...ok, here's the setlist in no
particular order other than the opening song and the encores...

Dr. Pyser
Song for the Dumped
One Angry Dwarf
Fair
Brick
Selfless, Cold and Composed
Kate
Steven
Battle
Missing the War
Eddie Walker
Tom and Mary
Emaline
She Don't Use Jelly
Philosophy
Underground
The Last Polka

Encore: Smoke, Uncle Walter

Kev

P.S.--Hey Joel(?) and Female companion (I'm real sorry, I forgot your
name) from Penn State...hope your drive back was ok. saw you guys 2nd row
from the stage bopping away :)

Alright. Sorry about the whole transcription thing; it never worked.
So now ya gotta go to http://home.earthlink.net/~redrum29 to find it. I
think it works now. I hope it does, anyways. I should have more songs
up as soon as possible. I'll go back to lurking again.
