NO ARMCHAIRS FOR A FEW DAYS
The list was down for a few days because of a network upgrade at the
server. The mailing list is now running again but other traffic may be
delayed by a couple hours now and then. You should have received issue
#854 with the wrong date, again a configuration problem. The correct date
for that issue is Sunday, Mar. 1, 1998.

I am new to the armchair, but not a brickhead. I was hoping that someone
out there had a few appearences I am looking for. I don't know many
others are familar with JBTV, but a Ben Folds Five concert was shown a few
months ago and I did not have a tape handy after I flipped it on. Did
anyone get the entire thing on tape? I also would like get the Sessions
show on tape, did not get the entire thing, then had the tape stolen, and
the simul-cast show from the Riveira. I was there, you may have seen my
shirt go to the stage when I got naked with Ben, and may I say it was the
best show I have ever seen live.

I do not have anything to trade, but am willing to provide video tapes and
shipping charges. If anyone has all of these together so I could get them
on one tape it would be appreciated. Go ahead and email me personally if
you can help at all, bsthoma@rs6000.cmp.ilstu.edu. Thanks for allowing me
to bug you.

Okay, so I am too late for the first video, I guess, but I'll probably
have enough for a second video. Or should I go ahead & make both anyway?
Please don't E-mail me asking how to get a copy. I get about 15 a day.
This should get the attentiion of most folks who only read in-between the
lines:

HERE'S HOW TO GET A COPY!!!!!!!!

1. WAIT TILL I SAY I AM FINISHED (prolly in about a month & a half or so)
2. I WILL SET UP A PAGE FOR WHERE TO SEND THE $6 FOR SHIPPING & THE VIDEO
& WHAT WILL BE ON IT
3. ER..... I REALLY HADN'T THOUGHT OF A THIRD.

I DO HAVE A LIFE!!!! I JUST HAVE AN URGE TO MAKE A TAPE OF THIS STUFF &
IT TAKES RELATIVELY LITTLE OF MY TIME. So, keep those contributions
coming! I have enough for roughly 2, maybe 3 tapes.

Steve!

Hey all ~

Haven't posted in a while, but I need some help. A couple of friends of mine
are scheduled to go to the Matchbox 20 concert at the Hammerstein Ballroom,
and 3/4 of them have their tickets, but my poor, poor friend got shut out
since she's incredibly absent-minded and forgot her money. Anyway, I feel
terrible for her, so I'm simply asking if anyone on this list has an extra
ticket or knows someone who has an extra ticket that's willing to sell it. If
so, please e-mail me at Roxygrrrl1@aol.com or just post it on the list and
I'll e-mail you. Thank you - you'll make a girl from Long Island very, very
happy. =)

Hi everybody !!!!

<<When people from another country sing BFF to themselves, do they sing
in an American accent, or their native accent?>>

OK, 1st i had the luck i saw the guys on Jay Leno on NBCeurope and that
was the first time i saw them "live" (we never hear bout them around
here, not even the whole "Brick" thing).
Concerning the question, i sing with the american accent, even if at
school here we learn the british accent (english of the queen i should
say)... So, my american accent sounds like a mixing of french- british-
american accent (duh, you don't imagine how aweful the result can be,
almost that i can't sing : )) )
Anyway, Ben Folds Five is very good to improve my accent : )
Now, i should say bye and SHIT YEAH ITs COoL !!!!

Guillaume, the french BFF fan ; )

I was reading Rocket no8's post in MAD V1 #859 and I was just wondering when
BF5 was on HBO2. I have HBO2 but I never saw them on there. Does anybody
have a tape of the Reverb special on HBO2??? I don't have anything that
anybody would want to trade, but we could probably work something out.
Please mail me if you can help me.

After listening to a good number of live DATs, I've decided my two
favorite Ben Folds Five tapes are these:

SANTA MONICA, CA 7-17-97 40'
One Angry Dwarf & 200 Solemn Faces / Fair / Smoke / Kate / Theme From
Dr. Pyser / Philosophy

This one is a Music and Interview on KCRW and features the strings they
had on the Horde tour.

Akasaka Britz TOKYO, JAPAN 5-20-97 95'
Imitation Intro / 76.1 DJ Intro / Best Imitation Of Myself / One Angry
Dwarf And 200 Solemn Faces / Kate / Selfless, Cold, And Composed /
Emaline / Philosophy / Brick / Steven's Last Night In Town / Smoke /
Jackson Cannery / Fair / Sports And Wine / Dr. Pyser / Battle Of Who
Could Care Less / Underground / Song For The Dumped (Japanese Version) /
Mitchell Lane (September 67 b/u vocals) / (Cowboy Needs / Long Tall
Texan / Julianne)

This show is not the best quality I've heard(but it's close). It does
have the best set list, though. Song For The Dumped in Japanese, Sports
And Wine, and Mitchell Lane. If you're looking for one show and one
show only, this is the one.
