Is anybody involved with WBCN on this list? I was thinking.....
The BFF DMB concert is June 5, the Friday of the 1st weekend in June.
THe WBCN River Rave is usually at Great Woods the first weekend of June.
(Saturday and Sunday)
Ben Folds Five played the X-Mas Rave in December...right before they mad
blew up....
So the band and the radio station have a relationship....
BFF will be in town that weekend...
Are my hunches right?

Here's my Input:

What's happening here is the Mighty Mighty Bosstones Effect. Before the
Bosstones were very popular in the general public, they had a few devoted
fans. But once that the Let's Face It album was released with "the impression
that i get" as the first single, the general public began to like them. The
original fans started hating them, calling the Bosstones "sellouts" simply
because of impression's popularity. Abandoned by their devoted ska fans, the
Bosstones rode Impression and Rascal King till the album went platinum, then
the hype was over. Now, amung the Skate Punks and non-skater ska fans (like
myself), the name is synonymous with "Sellout". As an original fan (not
bragging, but that's how I like to consider myself), I only have the old
albums to dwell on. I am shunned by the ska community for merely sticking by
MMB.
This same sort of thing appears to be happening with BFF. The old fans get
upset that they no longer have something of their own, Brick skyrockets into
popularity, the album sells a lot of discs, the old fans call the Boys
sellouts, and you wonder why you bought the album in the first place. Sure,
there are still a few devoted fans, but liking BFF isn't "cool" anymore.
I would hate for this to happen to our boys, but that looks like where they're
going based on what i've seen on the Chair.
