Here is BFF's set list from their Nashville performance:

1) Theme from Dr. Pyser
2) Battle of who could care less
3) Selfless, Cold, and Composed
4) Philosophy
5) Alice Childress
6) Steven's Last Night in Town
7) Fair
8) Brick
9) Song for the Dumped
10) Julianne
11) Missing the War
12) One Angry Dwarf and 200 Solemn Faces

Here is a short review of the show:
BFF played very well! The show kicked ass! There were only two drawbacks to
this show...the security guards who were harassing us about taking
pictures, etc. and the mob of moshing, fanatical brickheads. But minus
those two things...it was one of BFF's better performances....it rocked!!!

Make sure to check out http://bffirc.home.pages.de for some more reviews of
the shows, etc. Later.

"She spoke to Sanders on IRc yesterday when Ben and Darren were there (At
sanders) and asked about the boys coming to oz in August"

HAHA!!! I WISH!!! If ben and darren were at my house...i would have freaked
and wouldn't be here right now. i would still be in awe. anyways, they were
not at my house...we met up with the band downtown by there tour bus...i
dunno what you or julie are smoking...but it is majorly affecting your
thinking...hehe... anyways, i did talk to Ben and Darren about them coming
back to Oz for a few shows...and they said yes they will be back in Oz in
August...and will play a few all ages shows as well. anyways...just
wouldn't to get that clear and make that correction. later.

Hi everyone,

Just rang my friend from Sony, and I asked him about whether BFF are
*really* coming to Australia in August. He said they are probably
coming for a promotional tour, but they might not do Perth (probably
just Sydney and Melbourne). Don't quote me on that coz he wasn't sure
of all the details. Just my luck, since I'm going to be in the US at
the time! Oh well.

He also said he's heard the new song "Air" and he said its really
good and its gonna be a hit. Cool!

Catcha!
Jodie

A few weeks ago I posted a complaint about New Zealand not getting
anything other than the major Ben Folds Five stuff and generally
criticised New Zealanders for their musical backwardness.
I have to eat my words now though. I went to Wellington, our capital,
and found Naked Baby Photos, and several singles, as well as an
enthusiastic fellow fan who worked at the CD store. I spent quite a
while talking to this guy, and realised that there are lots of us here
who DIG BF5 in a MAJOR way. We're conspiring between us to get BF5 to
come to our wonderful country.

Incidentally, Naked Baby Photos is Fan-bloody-tastic!!! I find it funny
though, that I've been watching the Song For the Dumped 'swearing'
debate with great amusement, and then listened to "For those of ya'll
who wear fannie packs", in which the guys do a great piss-take of
foul-mouthed rappers! How'd you like the masses to get hold of that
one?!?

Duncan.

PS: My non-BF5 Fav 5:
- -Hanson
- -Spice Girls
- -Puff Daddy
- -K-ci & Jo-Jo
- -Anyone (else) who does a disrespectful cover, and/or gets really rich
for no effort or talent.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
No really:
- -Dave Matthews Band
- -Blues Traveler
- -Tori Amos
- -Cracker

I would have to exclude any Grateful Dead shows from this list, or else I
would have room for little else, so that aside:
- -BFF at Irving Plaza
- -Pearl Jam at Randall's Island
- -KISS at MSG ('97 reunion tour - not the greatest music wise, but definitely a
great show)
- -Any live performance of RENT on Broadway (great band, great music)
- -Pink Floyd at Giant's Stadium (can't remember the year)
- -Dave Matthews Band at Red Rocks, 7/4/97
Who knows what I'm forgetting - its all a blur

i saw the the fellows at the Swing Into Spring '98 Festival in Knoxville,
TN last Friday. BFF was the third band of the evening, with Fuel and Gran
Torino before them, and Bruce Hornsby afterwards. This was an incredible
show, people. Both Fuel and Gran Torino gave 10+ performances...Hornsby
was OK. Back to Ben, though. The gates opened at 5, so I was there at
3...first one there, as usual. There was no security at the gate, so I
walked in to use a porta pottie. When I came out, my friend who came with
me kept pointing at these two people walking towards us. I almost peed my
pants even though I'd just peed. It was Ben and his new girlfriend...we
froze and just stared at them as they walked right by us. It was just us 4
around, too....damn it. Chance to speak with Ben wasted cause I'm a puss.
Anyways, the show was mediocre...not amazing. Nothing compared to when I
saw them Feb. 23rd. Here's what they played: Pyser, Battle, Last Polka
(by request), Philosophy (complete with piano dive), Smoke, Steven, Fair
(cool new bass part), Brick, Dumped, Dwarf. The worst part wasn't the
unethusiastic playing, but the teenyboppers crowd surfing during Brick.
The hell with that. When they finished, they threw down the setlist, and I
climbed the barrier and got it (i know this sounds like the biggest lie
ever, but trust me). Here's what the were supposed to play: Pyser,
Battle, Philosophy, Smoke, Alice, Dumped, Steven, Fair, Brick, Kate, Air,
Walker, and Dwarf. What I would give to hear Air...but alas. It wasn't
meant to be. Sorry for the length...I hope ya'll enjoy the boys later on
in the tour, and I hope they get more enthused and don't look so bored.

Okay - I have heard something on the armchair that is worrying me. First of
all, is there an age restriction on the BF5 shows??? A girl in Australia wrote
that some of the shows over there would be all ages. SOME shows?!?! I thought
all of them were! And I have tickets to the May 9th show at the Hollywood
Palladium, and I'm scared I won't be able to get in (I'm only 17). So, if
anyone has info on this subject, I'd really appreciate your input. Also, I've
never been to a general admission show, and i was wondering how early I should
get there becauase I want FRONT ROW!! I'm not talkin front section, or even
second row, I want to be as close to the boys as possible!!! also, is there a
lot of moshing at the shows, because i'm not really into that. so, if anyone
has any answers to my questions, please post your response or e-mail me.
Thanks a lot!!!

alright i agree, some people do like song for the dumped because it says bitch
a lot....however there are some of us who appreciate the song for the real
feelings and emotions expressed in the song...although the lyrics are not all
that coplex and wonderful, the emotions are and that is what songwriting is
all about...darren wrote it, not ben...obviously if darren was a fabulous
songwriter he'd be writing more of them, however he's obviously somewhat good
at it to contribute to songs like Kate that are lyrically wonderful...so let
people think what they want of it, people are entitled to their own opinions
and interpretations of songs... sorry this is so long
