I'm not sure if anyone has seen the previews for it, but they have a
specail edition of Artist Cut on MTV called Mother's Cut, where the mothers
of artists talk about their videos. I'm reallt not kidding. It has Ben's
mom on the commercial talking about his dancing in the Underground video.
She said that is the way he used to dance when he tried on clothes at the
department store when he was little. I'm really not kidding, so peel your
eyes to the tube and watch for the commercial and time, 'cause I'm not
exactly sure when it will air. Check ya later.

Subject: favorite shows

hi everyone!
I have another midterm on Friday and it is time for me to procrastinate
again so I thought that this time I would send in my favorite concerts.
I have really noticed something about the concerts I have been to..I'm
not sure if anyone else will back me up on this. Im going to college in
Chicago and the concerts here are so much different from the ones I have
been to in Texas. At the several concerts I have attended here, people
generally dont seem to move around as much or get into the music as much
as they do in Texas. I was wondering if it was because I haven't been
to an outdoor venue in Chicago yet or what. Maybe someone that lives in
Chicago can explain it to me. I geuss I'll find out for myself soon
enough when I see Ben folds at Tinley park. Anyways...my five best
concerts.
1. Rockfest (Jewel, Counting Crows, Sugar Ray, No Doubt, Paula Cole,
Third Eye Blind, Collective Soul, Nixons, Bush, Wallflowers, Matchbox20,
Duncan Sheik, Soak, Sister 7, 10000 Maniacs, Jackopierce)Texas Motor
Speedway (Dallas, Texas) I am not reallly into all of these bands...but
the atmosphere was awesome...5 hour road trip, millions of people, lots
of music
2. BFF at the Vic (Chicago, IL)
3. Poe, Better Than Ezra, Cowboy Mouth at Sunken Gardens Theatre (San
Antonio, TX) ...the best outdoor theater!
4. Radiohead, Spiritualized at Rosemont Theater (Chicago, IL)
5. BFF at the Riveria Theater (Chicago, IL)

I could name some more...but I thought I would keep it short. The BFF
concerts would be higher on the list if I had seen them in a place like
Austin...the crowds here in Chicago... well...like I said only a handful
of people move around and get into the music. Well I think this has
been long enough. I really need to study

Hey,
Just thought i might post this in response to Erin's
post. In Australia a lot of the live shows that bands
do are only for over 18's because the venues are
licenced (eg there is alcohol sold). So pretty much
what happens to me is that one of my favorite bands
come to oz and i cant go cos they play at a pub.

Oh well, i guess that all you "old" people can laugh
at me now :)

Hope that when they come down under they play an all
ages gig

I made a mistake in my last message I guess, the Sessions show is on May
16th, not the 9th. Excuse fuckin' me, which brings me to my other point.
SFTD is great, no matter what. If you find the words offensive, then get
used to it, cuz the band's not gonna change them for some pansy who
can't handle hearing naughty words on the radio. God forbid we live in a
country where we can't speak our minds. Oh, another thing, I'm pretty
sure Darren wrote the lyrics, not Ben. So that's all for, sorry for
bitching...oops I cursed, sorry about that. Little kids, cover your
ears, or eyes, or whatever the hell you want to cover.

Um...NO! Not for us 5'2" shortys who dont particularly want to be mowed
over by 6'4" 200 lbs guys who are drunk off their ass and decide to ram
into each other spewing drawfs like me out of the way into the nearest
