Subject: Hey....

Hi people!
Well, nice to see the armchair coming up to 1000, it's quite strange to
see how far we've all come. we're still getting het up about silly
things, and trying to beat the hell out of each other, we're still
seeing unsubscribe posts (no offence-just an observation). We've lost a
few people along the way, which is a shame, but we've got quite a
(argumentative) community going here! Let's hope Ben Folds five keep
progressing, right? (that is, unless you wanna keep them all to
yourselves).

Just a couple of Armchair-typical questions and comments then...

Michele-the 'I'm not a Brickhead' poster. No offence meant by any of
this, and I mean that, but I thought your defence was harmed by a couple
of fundamental things-first that you find 'Brickhead' insulting, and
that you have agreed with the people you are disputing by labelling
another group.
I personally would not give a damn if someone called me a Brickhead-even
if I was one, because it's just a definition. It's got nothing to do
with whether you are a more loyal fan-check the original post. If you
agree with me then you shouldn't defend your position by saying that you
didn't choose to be but was forced to be.
Secondly, what's wrong with 13 year old Oasis lovers? Or teenyboppers?
You're doing exactly the same thing that you're criticising when you say
things like that. I think you're being too cool when you say you don't
like Oasis. Check the song Underground for that type of thing.
The best thing you could have done would have been to wait until you
were attacked, as the your quotation did not criticise anybody. By
entering this debate, I know I'm exercising gross hypocrisy but I just
couldn't let a post like that pass.

Just my 2 cents, no offence.

On a more light-hearted note, (let's say A) does anybody know who's
supporting Ben Folds five when they do their european tour, or more
specifically, their London gig?

Oh, and one last thing. I'm still open to entries for the compilation
I'm putting together-consists of interpretations of Ben fOlds Five
songs, and vaguely similar original works in the style of Ben folds
Five. In fact, I'll take anything, and if the whole thing's good enough,
i'll sample it onto cd and shift copies around the armchair. ok?

Fave bands:
Rootjoose
ether
Take That
Oasis
Stony Sleep.

No, really.

Hi hi hi,

Long time, no post. Damn those exams... Anyway, Larry wrote (re:
Hollywood show)

> why?

Because every damn eejit in the place shouts "who the fuck are you"
in the middle of it, and it *JUST ISN'T FUNNY ANYMORE*. Please,
please, please, will everyone stop doing that. It annoys the hell out
of me. God knows what it does to the band.... When I see them at
Glastonbury, if they play Underground, I urge anyone else there to
refrain from shouting out at that bit... Thanks :) I love you really.

Huh? Is it me, or did that lose something in the translation??!

Ah well...

I must apologize for the lack of ben folds five content in this post, i
just felt that since some of you people like good music besides ben folds
five you might want to know about hayden.

Good god!! The new hayden cd, "the closer i get" is amazing. All
the things that bugged me about his first cd are gone....this is a solid
solid album. It's one of the few albums that made me cry on the first
listen, kind of like "cigarette" makes you cry, only an entire album. It
has saxophones and zylophones and pianos and guitars and harmonicas and
can-openers and telephones and bongos.......it's just....

                             FUCKING AMAZING.

Some songs have a bit of a country feel ("two doors") but i think hayden
pulls it off well...very very well. Basically, if you don't own this album
by the end of the week you belong in a padded cell. I can't wait to see
him!!! 2 days in a row for you buffalo area hayden fans...June 7th at new
world records (free!) and June 8th at the tralfamadore (my personal
favorite venue, and then on june 9th, ben folds five and beck at darien
lake...WOOOO!!! I LOVE JUNE!!!) I saw him at nietzes at the allentown art
festival last year and he was incredibly funny and talented and hugable.
I hear he's touring with a whole band now...it should be really really
really cool. Listen to your local college radio station for the first
single "the hazards of sitting beneath palm trees" (no, it's not cocnuts).
I have a feeling in about 2 months everyone is going to know who hayden
is.

dear michele ,u little teeny bopper-

u r obviously the close minded person in this case bc when u refer to
yourself being a "huge" BFF lover u mention that u bought THE album, its
almost seemed like pointless to point this out bc the true fans who should be
the only ones on the armchair realize..that there are three lps plus a bunch
of other stuff(details obviously not needed)
so in closing i would like to re-solidify my point that u r a teeny bopper!

Geez, I'm going to be so busy on Sunday! I have to tape Reverb at 11 b/c 3eb
will be on there (for all 3eb fans), plus the godzilla thing, plus remember
BF5 will be on Modern Rock Live on Sunday.

- --Lauren--
I don't know exactly where she is...Maybe she didn't feel like going out any
buying it, I don't know, or doesnt have the $..I already made the tape &
everything, but I've gotten a lot of e-mails from all of you telling me to go
ahead and send it, so I probably will wind up doing so...I think she was
planning on sending me a tape of a radio show or something, so I don't mind.
