Well, I'm still going to get it for REM's new song. And I never heard
that there was a "new" BF5 song, I heard it was a "rare" BF5 song, even
though T&M is hardly rare.

To everyone going to the BFF/Beck/DMB concert on Sunday, ya'll are in
for an extra amazingly special treat. Béla Fleck will be joining DMB on
stage for the concert (confirmed). If any of you know who Béla fleck is,
he's an amazing banjo player who toured with DMB last summer. Also I
hear from an inside source that Ben Folds will actually be joining DMB
onstage (unconfirmed). Alanis Morrisette will also be singing with the
band (confirmed) presumably on Spoon and Don't Drink the Water. I just
thought everyone going would be interested....

Hi Suzanne, I'm with you all the way. I myself have been a member of the
room for some time, but rarely even bother to read it anymore, due to all of
the malcontents who seem to think that they "own" the group; as if somehow
their loyalty to the group gives them more credence as fans. I for one am
thrilled to see BFF build their fan base, no matter who is listening or how
they did it. Music is music for Chrissakes, and the whole purpose is for it
to be enjoyed. I'm glad I read this last post, if only to have read your
message. At least I know I'm not alone in my opinions. Thanks. Write back.

seem to think you can fool all of the people all of the time. Or maybe you
wanna fight. If so I am more than happy to argue because at this time my life

Try Scour.net-- there are about 500 or so listings when you search on "Ben
Folds Five," although Pyser and Pretty don't seem to want to download for some
reason. Anyway, that's at least a starting point for you.

Screw my .02, I've got more to say. First off, I love my fellow
Fjordians, and will support them in their every effort. Let's face it,
reviews are fun, but after seeing topics repeated and repeated, a person
starts to wonder if they're the only soul left with a memory, or a copy of
the FAQ. But I read on, because it can be amusing to see yet another
person reveal the joy they felt when they realized the phone in SLNIT
wasn't theirs. The Files, however, are my alternative source for Bentent.
Hell, it's like a little family, and dammit it's fun. Face it, the return
of the old skool Chairers has made this digest alot more interesting
lately. Watching everyone speak their mind is great. Free speech at its
best...oh man, I'm Annebling so I'd better stop.

Can't wait to see Robert on Springer. I'm not giving away too much by
revealing what he told me the other day. He's going to be surprising an
old friend by telling them he always had a crush on them. I don't think
Elizabeth will be too happy to find out it's Darren, though! Yes, from
the very moment they were DJing at the gay discotheque...but Ben pushed
his way in and offered them crack so Robert left it unpursued. He can't
live a lie anymore, though, and is slowly revealing more about himself,
starting with the baby step of talking about his beloved car in RS. There
should be some rockin' fights, so set your VCRs!

Hmm, a 12 step program is starting to sounds like a good idea...I'm
feeling creative so maybe I'll make one for BeFeFans.

Anyone whose going to the Pgh. show at Starlake Amp. on June 10, let me know.
I'd love to get a little gathering of Armchair members before the show, or at
the show. And I have seats in the pit (which I hope doesn't actually evolve
into an actual mosh pit), so I am more than willing to offer my ticket stub to
anyone who'd like to get into the pit for a closer seat. Starlake is not
really consistent on their pit policy; sometimes they require armbands, and
sometimes its just ticket stub checkage. Anyway, let me know... of course,
mail me, and not the 'Chair.
As a little added note, I went to a DMB show last night, and before they
introduced Hypnotic Clambake, a local radio DJ announced the shows coming to
the Amp. As soon as she said "June 10," I let out one of my characteristic
shrieks of joy, and caused the entire crowd to turn around and stare at me, as
well as the DJ to begin laughing and say "Wow, she must be a Ben Folds Five
fan." But a couple of people also came up to me complimenting me on my
musical taste :) Wow, I'm such a geek.
As for the returning brethren of Helmetheads... as long as you like BFF,
you're down with me (I'm sure you were waiting for my approval too :) Welcome
back!

I love you all so very deeply,
*jackie*

woohoo! I was there, too. I'm sorry to those who wrote me about my extra
tickets, I had some crazy schedule problems and was unable to reply in time.
I really enjoyed the show (bff show #2 for me) the first time I saw them was
at Clutch Cargos a few months back, a friend of mine begged me to go along
with him and I'm very glad I did 'cause I totally got sucked in :) It was
kinda sad to see them at a stadium show after seeing them somewhere much
more intimate. I was also dissapointed at how short a set they played but I
still enjoyed it. The poor piano, though :) That thing has definately seen
better days :) Was that duct tape I saw on it? :) When he started rubbing
the mike on the strings I almost died, I guess being a musician I cringe at
any sort of instrument abuse, it causes me severe pain :) Beck and Sean
Lennon were also great and all in all I found it a very enjoyable show...I
also managed to not get home 'til two in the morning due to that fact I live
in Canada and the person who was driving has no sense of direction (sorry
dave :)) They should really do somthing about that parking lot, it was
absolutly nuts...ANYway..I'm going to end my incoherent babble here :)

I have really REALLY been enjoying the RF assault on the MA (majorly
asinine) of late.

And those of you who haven't been enjoying it are too young in armchair
years to get it.

And may I just say that Anne is smarter than most of you put together.

As are Markus, Eric, Erik and Lauren..and carrie, though I don't think
she's posted yet.

Lauren may be a self proclaimed "super bitch" (although I find her
sassiness refreshing) but she's also dead on abotu a lot of you not
knowing the roots of music. Instead of putting Matchbox 20 into your CD
player (*shudder*) why not make real use of your time and listen to some
Frank Sinatra, Chuck Berry and good old Chetty Baker.

Quit faffing about and learn to appreciate music because it's good, not
because it's what radio tells you to listen to.

And I'm not here to prove my mettle as an BFF fan, because those of you
who remember me are really the only ones I care about. And those of you
who think I'm a bloody whore, nothing but *smoochies* for you.

Complaints will be cheerfully ignored:)

Also a big shout of love to my gal Elisabeth. Wise beyond her 16 years,
she's been holding the fort pretty well.

And let's not forget to set our VCR's for that much anticipated Springer
epsode where Robert puts the smack down on Jerry.

Hey...does anybody hear a phone ringing in Steven's?*

Subject: Old School?

Do you realize that you are a small group of people on a mailing list?
As if the armchair needs to be inundated with the wisdom that is `the
old school.'

You start off with these comments: "for those of you who don't know
me......I was on the armchair before you..blah...blah..."

Who cares? Are we supposed to feel like we've missed out on something
because you left for a while? Like it's supposed to be some sort of
great religious awakening or something....thank god the old school is
back....now we can truly begin to understand the music of BF5.

I don't care if you were on the armchair one day before me...I don't
care if you were on 1 week before.....1 year....I could give a damn if
your Ben Folds mother.....

It doesn't make you a bigger fan....a better judge of music....a human
being for all to admire and model themselves after. It does not give
you the right to assume that you are any of these. And it does not give
you the right to tell members what they can or can not post. If someone
wants to ask what the meaning of Brick is, then they should. As for
Steven's Last Night.......Is that a phone ringing in the song? Is that
a phone ringing in the song? Is that a phone ringing in the song?
There...now you've not only heard that question 3 times in the last
month...you've heard it 3 times in the last post.

What you have to understand is this...and it is a simple concept. New
people join the armchair..they do not know what has already been
discussed...they may ask questions that have already been covered....get
over it.

Is it that hard to answer somebody's question? Isn't that why people
joined this list? To get information on the band they love? Yes.

But if you are annoyed by the questions...then ignore them and scroll
down. But do not...DO NOT think for a moment that because you've been a
fan for a longer period of time, that you are superior to the other
people here.

The armchair doesn't need to be rescued from the "newbies" that are
currently here. It needs to be rid of the people that think they are
better than others. A fan is a fan. Period.

And if you don't like this post, you don't have to stick it out until
June....you can haul your ass back to the old school from whence you
came.

See Ya,
Rusty

Well, after trying my ass off to work up a get together, I don't know if
it'll be happening. The only thing I can think of is to say, look for
me. In the parking lot, if I'm there I'll be sitting on the tailgate of
a red Chevrolet truck, that has some wacky ass bue painting on the
front. I'm well aware that SPAC is huge, but inside, I'm trying to get
dead center lawn seats pretty close to the front. So I'll be up there
too, I'll probably be wearing a Dave Matthews Band shirt. So that's it
for the last SPAC get together update. Sorry, but I'm not a great
organizer obviously.
Oh, by the way, does anyone else think bf5 could do an amazing cover of
Barenaked Ladies' 'Life, In a Nutshell'? I can picture ben singing "When
she was 3, her Barbies always did it on the first date"

That's it for now,
