Subject: Giants Stadium show and a little more.

Hi, hello, hola, bonjour. I know this has probably been posted by at least
10,000 other people already (are there really that many here? Nah, probably
not...) but I'm just so damn happy. :) The Giants Stadium gig was my first
time seeing BF5 live. I was so excited this whole weekend. My friend Josh (who
I dragged along, but he LOVES DMB...) thought I was crazy for the way I had
been acting Saturday and Sunday. But when I got there (almost late, damn NJ
Turnpike is confusing...) it was almost time for them to come on. I brought my
camera (that whole "stick it in a granola bar box" thing worked, although it
was a rice krispee treat box), took some pictures of them but I don't know how
they'll turn out. I was dissapointed that they only played 8 songs (6 of
which were from WEAEA) and none of them were Underground. =( Here's the Set
List, in order. I know, I'm crazy for sitting there with a pen, writing each
song onto my hand as they came on, but I was just so happy: 1) Fair. 2) Battle
of Who Could Care Less. 3) Philosophy. 4) Emaline. 5) Steven's Last Night In
Town (hey, is it me or does anyone else hear a phone ringing?? hehe, j/k.) 6)
Brick, with the guys next to me offering to all to get out the lighters. No
one did, that I saw anyway, and I didn't think many people really sang along
to it either. 7) One Angry Dwarf and 200 Solemn Faces. 8) Song For The Dumped.
I really liked when Ben stripped down to his shirt (ooh! Naught boy!) and
pants; basically just losing the jacket. Oh, and for all those fashion people,
he wore some form of a yellow shirt and I think dark pants. I couldn't really
see Robert or Darren's attire, damn, I'm sorry.
The scraping of the piano keys was awesome too, and I definitly dug Robert.
He was awesome the whole time. Not that Ben and Darren weren't (what
musicians. Sheesh. I found them impressive) but I definitly thought Robert was
very into it. :) The piano stool throwing was cool too (I've known about these
things, and just to prove I'm a "real" fan, I've liked them for about a year
and I've been on this list for a while, but not the beginning when Mr. Maynard
took 6 days to create what we now call "The Magical Armchair" and on the 7th
day he rested, is that ok with you?^) *Sorry, sorry, so sorry*. I was the only
one in my section singing but that didn't bother me. I tried to bring a tape
recorder, but I didn't get it in time. Damn. :) Beck was awesome, he's just
such a fabulous performer. I have to say though, that I was way more into Ben
and the boys than Beck and DMB. However, I got up with everyone else for DMB.
I also, however, was just a little high during Dave. But who wasn't? And
considering I'm not a huge DMB fan, I was dissapointed that they didn't play
"Ants Marching", "What would you say", or "Sattelite". But I bought my $22
Ben Folds Five maroon t-shirt with "Kiss My Ass" on the back, what a satisfing
night?!? :) I'm broke, but *very* happy. Can't you tell?
God, I just love all you people. Even with all this fighting, I really feel
like one big family. That just happens to not really know each
other....Hmmm...Oh well, I still think it's fun, although rather "redundant".
;) (very funny Springer joke. Hahaha, um, no.) I'm just kidding around with
all of you, please don't hate me. I really mean no harm, and I'm sorry I'm
rambling but some of this fighting is just being dragged out, beaten, hung out
to dry, and thrown back into the drawer. Whatever that means. Pot has some
strong effects on me I guess...Yeah, that's it. =)~
But in conclusion, I love you all, although I don't know you. And that's the
point I'm trying to make. How can you *hate* someone you don't really know? So
you disagree. Who cares? I don't get agree with my best friend all the time,
I'm sure you all don't either. So point being, as fun as this little thing has
been, it's getting boring. But I won't tell you to stop talking about it
because I don't want anyone to feel like I'm violating the right given to them
in the First Amendment of the Bill or Rights (all you Americans, and I guess
all you other people too. We can pass it around I suppose.) Anything said on
here shouldn't be
taken for anything more than face value. It's an online mailing list!
I'm not saying my point of view is right, I'm not saying anyone should follow
what I'm saying... Talk about it all you like! I'm just stating my oppinion, I
hope it's ok with all of you... =) Please remember that I love you and don't
hurt me, I'm weak. Harsh criticism could make me cry. =( Anyway, I'm outta
here. Love you all lots. Try to refrain from sending me hate mail, is it all
neccesarry??? :)
Love ya,
~Brooke, your friendly neighbor.

p.s. anyone have any bootlegs they'd be willing to trade with me?? I don't
have any myself, but I might be able to come up with a poster or something
like that. Mail me privately of course...Thanks dudes and dudettes. :)

It's special seating for gay airheads. This is only for you if you're gay
AND you discovered BFF via the Godzilla soundtrack. If it's either/or, you

Hey...I get 1234 extra points for destroying my WAEA (bought it first day and
kept it firmly in my CD player until other friends started liking BFF)...do i
get points off or added for lending it to 19 people in three weeks (and
spawning too many bootlegged copies to mention)?
Speaking of boots, Lianne (she's the infatuating one) and I want to know if
any kind Darien-attending soul can get us a copy of the show (BFF only is
fine, Beck if you want to work extra). That would rock. Too bad she failed her
driver's test last week and today is Meghan's mom's birthday. Sob sob...

MY DISGUSTINGLY TRENDY BENTENT!!!

(Ye gads, I hate that word)

According to my friend who works at a local club where the boys made their
first appearance in Syracuse long ago, they stopped in tonight for a round
because Darien is smack in the boonies between Buffalo, Rochester, and
Syracuse. Just thought I'd pass that along...

To whom it may concern,
There's probably not a service out there that will burn your MP3s
to CD for one basic reason: MP3s are illegal. If you want them
burned, however...you could just find a friend or someone that has a
rewritable disk drive and just ftp them or e-mail your mp3s to his
computer. I did that up in college all the time and wound up with
over 3 cds of music. Besides that, there's not any legal way to burn
MP3s

The rockford files was a 70s television show. I want to say it had
either Patrick Duffy or Burt Reynolds or Tom Selleck starring in it,
but i'm not sure. It's just another cheesy detective show that bombed
out after like 3 years, so..um..yeah

Right on!!!! I'm a member of BOTH RF and MA and I think that many have
forgotten that we're here for one reason: because we love Ben Folds Five.
I've been a fan since I first heard them. I was the first person in my
little town to have the ST album. I had to special order it from Hastings
(our local music store) for my friends b/c I was tired of loaning out my
demo copy that I stole from the radio station I work at. Soon the orders at
Hastings were so great they started carrying BFF CDs. When WEAEA came out
Hastings got three copies in-all special orders. Now Hastings has so many
copies they can't sell them fast enough. I know that this message has been
skipped over by most of the people on the list, but I think SuperDave has
the right idea. We joined this list for a reason. Why should we let
"Brickheads" ruin the list for us, and why should we ruin the list for
them? So crank up your favorite BFF song, "Brick" or otherwise, and let's
jam to the music together.

- -J.

p.s. Yeah, I think Rockford Files is cool, but I'm not leavin the 'Chair
yet. But when I do, I'll go quietly. Not 4,000 page post letting you know
why I'm leaving. Old soldiers don't die, they just fade away.

Hi all.

i have to say, as a resident of Australia, i still love the song Brick.
it has been released as a single, but it hasn't been played to death
here as it seems to have been in the states. have any of you US
residents actually gone back and had a real, close listen again to it?
it is an incredible song, the depth of emotion in both the music and the
lyrics is amazing. try this - get WAEA, put on track 3, crank the volume
up as high as it can go, and just sit and listen to it. maybe you will
love it again. then again, maybe it will still annoy the shit out of you
;-)

anyone going to the Adelaide show, email me if you want to meet up.

>From Ben.

P.S. to quote Kathryn:
"Mr. Frank Maynard, I do, like many others, realize that this mailing
list had become a bit tedious and unpleasant of late, and I, as a fellow
Armchairian, do pledge to do my best to relieve this. Thank you for
continuing the Magical Armchair, because it would not be possible
without people like you, father of the list. I am eternally grateful, so
please don't stop whatever it is that you have been doing to keep this
going. Anyway, thanks for listening...."
i believe the best way to do this is to post things about BFF! (this
includes not posting things like "Stop posting this crap".) if we all
ignore the morons posting things like "I hate the new fans! i have been
a fan since before they
were even a band!" maybe they will go away...

P.P.S no offence was intended by the above statement. if you were a fan
since before they were even a band, then more power to ya ;-)
