okay okay i know im like late with the review....mah life as been muy
hectic....heres the lowdown on the show:
the crowd sucked....point blank...but those who were watching gave the guys
props...but this is the best show ive ever been too (it was mah first BFF
show)... heh.. i was waiting by the gate,after the show, to like see if theyd
sign autographs but darren and rob had left already.. and ben had a limo
waiting for him and his girl Frolly (i hope thats her name cause thats what i
was told) and was going to supper... i really wanted him to sign my cast.. oh
well...anywasy back to the gate.... these five girls were driving me insane..
bens soooooo cute darren is suuuch a jerk... evil teeny boppers... they didnt
even know ben was divorced...but anyways
oh mah gawd....as a first timer (but long time bff fan) the show ruled.. rob
shaked his ass (and the camera showed it up on da screen).. ben beat the crap
out of the piano..and shaked his ass...and thrusted his pelvis...hehehe.. it
rawked...
oh i was able to sneak my camera into jones beach... i still have to develop
the pictures....if they come out good ill post and im willing to send via
email...

SAD: Isn't it truly sad that a huge fight snowballs from an innocent question
like "What's G.A. seating mean?" If you're gonna make a joke, at least let us
know when you're kidding...sarcasm/humor don't translate very well into email
form sometimes....
THEME FROM DR. PYSER: Errrrrr! It's not "that little diddy" or the "warm-up
music" or the "bah bah bah song that they usually play first at concerts,"
okay? Enough! Enough. Enough. OK. Done venting. Ben wrote a song. The song has
a name. If you didn't know that, well you know that now. (Isn't this in the
BFF FAQ? If not, then it should be...) BTW, there *is* no TV show, Dr. Pyser,
right? It's just Ben's sense of humor taking the world by storm, once again.
Ben Folds is screwing with all our heads, don'tcha get it?
"So what's the first song they played?"
"Theme from Dr. Pyser."
"What? Is that on Whatever...Forever..Amen..?"
"No, it's not on WHATEVER AND EVER AMEN...It's not on any one of their
albums..."
"What is it, a cover, like, from a TV show or something?"
"No."

"Then why does a nonexistent TV show have a theme?"
"I don't know..."
"Well, you're the big BFF fan, *YOU* tell *me*..."
PYSER PART II: Finally bought the ARD compilation with the KCRW with strings
recording of Dr. P, and I want to know: What's that sound? Some squeaking,
whistling thing during the middle of the song? Someone's going "Ugh!" and then
there's this whistle-type sound...an unknown use of the me-low-dica, perhaps?
(I spell it that way to emaphasize the long "o" sound, y'know...)
PHILOSOPHY: Some say Philosophy is their #1 favorite BFF song ever. Some say
that the song is about Ben's penis. Coincidence? Mr. Folds himself won't even
give a straight answer...This better not turn into the "What is 'Brick'
about?" discussion....
ROBERT'S WATCH: Am I nuts, or does Robert just like to wear his wristwatch in
almost every single photo of the band? It's a pretty nice looking digital one,
too, I think. Darren sometimes wears a watch, but Ben doesn't...Weird.
MP3: Very cool format for sound files. Like a Windows .WAV file, only
compressed. For more info try www.mp3.com and the like. I recommend Chad
Sarles' page: The Ben Folds Five Audio Archive at
http://php.indiana.edu/~wsarles/bffmp3.html. Be prepared to pay huge phone
bills and give up lots of hard disk space. That is, until you delete the files
24 hours later or risk lawyers coming after you.....? There *are* legal
implications in this, so don't say I didn't warn you.
MODERN ROCK LIVE: Anybody tape this radio show a while back? I remember they
were broadcasting from St. Louis. I had to turn the tape over right when Ben
was talking about his neighbors and calling the police during the recording of
WAEA. What was the person's name? Janet? I am doing a transciption (a la The
Breakfast with BFF on KROQ transcription you guys seem to have *loved* when
you could just read the interview on-line instead of getting a copy on
tape...) and would love to know what is being said, word for word, during
those lost 45 seconds....
I had content, really.....Feeling strangely mellow right now. It is 12:51 AM
where I am....

Subject: Warning about ISPs
Hello, Everyone.
If you, or anyone you know is looking for a new ISP, be very careful about
using a company called EarthLink Network.
Up until last week, I used AT & T Worldnet Service for my ISP, but they
recently changed their policy limiting included hours to 150 per month,
instead of unlimited hours like they previously allowed. Between my
roommate and I, we use more than 150 hours per month, so I decided to
change ISPs.
Coincidentally, I bought a CD that had internet access included on the disc
(EarthLink Network), which offered first month free, $19.95/month,
unlimited access, and no set up fee. Great. . .just what I was looking for!
So, I signed up.
Imagine my surprise when I saw a $44.95 charge to my Visa bill! I
immediately called their customer service center. The woman I spoke to
told me to fax a copy of the offer I received to them, and I would be credited.
I did so immediately. That was a week ago! After more phone calls and
e-mails, my Visa has STILL not been credited!
I have no complaints with EarthLinks service otherwise. . .but please be
very careful if you decide to use them.

Just wondering what big black hole "Naked Baby Photos" fell into. Seems
like the radio stations went from playing "Brick" to nothing. Be sad if
"Emaline" goes unnoticed.

Subject: Whole point of the armchair is to support the band!
I'm glad the Rockford Filers are back. I hope we can all provide more "intelligent"
conversation for them.
I knew Ben a long time ago. Last time I spoke to him face-to-face was two years ago
during a gig in Seattle with such a small turnout that 1/4 of the people who showed up
were my friends.
I'm really proud of him for "making it." But since I now have no contact with him
since he's so big, I always hoped that the band would occasionally glance at the chair.
The whole point, in my opinion, was to provide a place for fans (and friends) to
encourage the band during their hard and grueling tours.
So, positive feedback! And, as all those annoying teachers always say, "the only stupid
question is one that isn't asked."
