COMMERCIAL SPAM
Occasionally, despite the safeguards, an item of commercial spam gets
into the Digest. When it does, please ignore it - I'll try to track down
the perpetrator.

BINARIES
Another reminder: Please do not post binary files (JPEGs, etc) to the
Armchair. They are generally unreadable (because the list server strips
out the header information that is necessary for most mail readers to
decode them), and inflate the digest to a huge size. Last week's binary
post ran that issue to 89k (the usual maximum is 20k) and caused the
issue to bounce from about 50 subscribers' e-mail accounts that could
not handle a message that large.
If you wish to share a picture with the listmembership, please either
(a) post a URL where the picture can be seen, or (b) offer to e-mail the
picture to those who would like to see it.

If the boys do something by S&G, I think it should be Bridge over
Troubled Water. Think about the tingles Smoke or Evaporated or Boxing
bring to you. BOTW already brings tingles down my spine and a BFF
cover would put me into shock.

that's all,

I love Fluid Ounces. I'm wearing their shirt right now. Spongebath Records
is in Murfreesboro, just down the road from me. I've seen Fluid Ounces live
and their great. I highly reccomend their album. Not quite the same sound as
Ben and company but good stuff.

The band will appear on Conan O'Brien on July 16 (late Thursday night,
early Friday morning in most areas).

They are _not_ booked on The Late Show with David Letterman on July 17 or
any other date at present.

This info is from BFF management and is deemed accurate.

Circumstance: The Armchair folks are meeting before the Conan show.

Problem: Dave (me) has to work at that point.

Suggestion: Getting together after the show.

Would anyone else be interested? Going to a bar or a restaurant
or anything? Perhaps that TGI Friday's that is right around the
corner (I was exploring midtown this weekend!)? If the show tapes
at 5:30, we could all meet there around 7-7:30? Perhaps, if they
know about it, certain members of a certain band we all seem to
like might feel like dropping by (yeah right)?

The next Semisonic single is actually "Singing in my Sleep." And maybe
it's just me, but I've never really thought BFF and Semisonic sound that
much alike. Hmm. Dan Wilson sure is sexy, though.

To follow MJ and John's lead...time for Ginger's shameless album plugging.
Everyone go buy Dag's new cd. It rules. And be on the lookout for Jump,
LIttle Children's first major label album coming out soon. They are also
pretty damn cool.

That's all. Um, I like BFF. Is that on-topic enough?

Ginger :)

Hey Aaron, I definitely agree with you about Semisonic's "Never You Mind" and
Ben Folds Five. I bought that CD around Easter, and I was thinking the same
thing. They use a lot of different pianos in their music, in addition to the
synth whistle, trembly guitar, slide guitar, and wah wah guitar. The
drummer, Jake, even learned piano so they could all play during songs. Well,
listen for their next single "Singing in My Sleep" and if you don't like them
now because of "Closing Time" 's heavy radioplay, maybe you'll change your
mind! :)

Hey, I was watching 120 Minutes last night, and the Sonic Youth video with
Macauley Culkin was on. Well, I know it's supposed to be some artistic
masterpiece and everything, but he just makes me sick, so I was half asleep.
I was laying down in front of the TV, and all of a sudden I hear "ONE TWO
THREE FOUR" and I just shot up and went straight for the record button. It's
the first time I've seen the video for SFTD, and I love it! The dueling
barbies are so funny, and I think it's a great way for people to see what
they're all about! :)

See ya, "We said we'd send letters and all of those little things."

anyone have any idea when the BFF sessions at West 54th is airing in
Australia? Also in the whatever liner notes, they thank Dean and
Scotty Folds. Who are they? Also can anyone who has guessed at the
lyrics to Cigarette please e-mail them to me, I’m trying to figure
them out and I'm not sure if they're right so I'd like to compare them
with other versions.
Thanks, Crystal

Hey armchair,
What's going on with BFF? Is their touring almost done? Are they
going to stop pimping WEAEA and perhaps hit Boston on some tour type
deal?
I just bought Rufus Wainwrights cd and I adore it! If anyone
wants to email me on it, Id love that. Although, tomorrow Im going to
Sweden so I may not be able to reply untill August. Rufus is ragingly
talented, eh? Hes wicked hot, too.... Sigh. Sorry. A great additio to
BFFs covers would definetly be April Fools by mr Wainwright.

would love to hear that. Maybe they could play some deep purple too :)
