Subject: Fan Club follow-up

Hey,

It's Erik Sorensen,

Well a few questions I have been asked about the fan club that will be
taking full affect very very soon I wanted to address and make sure that
some things were clear........

1.) Right away there is going to be an official newsletter and hopefully
web page if I could
ever get the F**king thing to work..... ARGHHHH

2.) Right now I am in process of getting things rolling and going
efficiently and all....... It is extremely hard to start an official
fan club, but I am so so close to it being there......

3.) There will not be any dues and I will try and fund it as best as I
can... We might take donations or something down the road, but I am not
going to do that unless I absolutely have to!!!!

4.) Right now.. it looks like I obviously will be running most of this
and a good friend John Boyer will be helping me out extensively as my
Right hand man and VP.... so feel free to drop questions to him also...
if he doesn't know them he can pop them to me.....

5.) My main concern right now is to get things going and to get the word
out so!!! I you are wanting to help out that is the best thing to do
for me.......

I wanted to drop a thank you to everyone that has been kind enough to
offer help, thanks, and etc.... I will try and mail everyone back that
mailed me and I will always try and keep in contact.......... Hopefully
in the future, when BFF goes on the US tour again next year we can get
some big get togethers going and etc....... Thanks again!!!

Subject: Fluid Ounces

I read the posts about the band Fluid Ounces, which some fellow Armchairites
have recommended. First, I listened to some samples at the CD Now site. Just
listening to those few bits, (especially "Birdbrained") it seemed that these
guys were doing their damndest to impersonate BFF. However, I wanted to
analyze it further, so I ordered the cd.

It's really a pretty good cd. They're definitely from the same tree as BFF,
but I wouldn't call them a clone. To me, Fluid Ounces sound more like
Jellyfish or Crowded House. They are all in that same "pop" family, but BFF
are definitely in a class by themselves.

Subject: Dustin digest

It's not often that I have enough on my mind to make myself a digest but
dammit, today I do.

1. Will everyone please take their thumbs out of their asses and lighten
up.
2. Marriage and Ben Folds Five
3. Barenaked Ladies, good stuff.
4. bnl mailing list/listserv?
5. dmb at Vernon Downs

1. You know what amazes me? The number of people on this list that need
to lighten up. It makes me want to join the Rockford Files, just so I
can read message by people that aren't always being crotchy. How do I
join RF? I really want to (email me doneil41@hotmail.com). I read a post
about trying to stop the covers thread, WHY? This is the first time I've
seen more than 3 people respond to an idea. It's obvious that the people
are having fun, and who cares if the band will never do the covers it
was a great idea, and I think it involves a lot more than just naming a
random song by another one of your favorite bands. I personally put
thought into picking a song that would be amazing covered by the band.

2. As I step off my soapbox... I just remembered that last year I went
to the HORDE Festival in Vernon Downs, NY. I also remembering Ben help
someone to propose to his girlfriend (wife now?). Is the guy that
proposed or the gal that was proposed to on the armchair? Just curious,
I thought it was really cool. That was my first bff show too, don't
really remember too much because I wasn't a huge fan at the time, but at
the time they were the band I was really looking forward to seeing at
the show.

3. I bought the new Barenaked Ladies cd, I love it, and hell since I'm
mentioning the cd, I might as well name a song or two off the cd (Stunt)
that would be cool if covered by bff. She's on Time, and Who Needs
Sleep? would be really good in my opinion. Go buy the cd. I definately
think we should keep the cover's thread going. It's the only thing
that's keeping the list happy. God forbid the armchair be happy and full
of funness(it's a word now). Hey it's actually on topic too, so no one
can get kicked off for posting their ideas. Oops, back off the soapbox.

4. Does anyone know if there's a Barenaked Ladies listserv or Mailing
List? If there is could someone tell me how to get on it, and if no one
knows, who likes the idea of me starting one? I definately think that
it's worth it.

5. Are there any armchair people that are going to the Dave Matthews
Band show in Vernon Downs on August 2nd? I'm organizing the get together
for the people on the dmb listserv and if you wanna join in, you're more
that welcome, just email me (doneil41@hotmail.com).

And that's it for today, whew, had to get all that out sooner or later.
Any comments, complaints, and praise can be sent to
doneil41@hotmail.com.
Flames I can delete, kinda like if you don't like a post to the armchair
you can scroll down, not too hard is it? Go on try it, there's a little
arrow in the lower right corner, if you click it the message moves off
the screen! OH MY GOD! It's so amazing! Instant orgasms! Instead of
bitching about everything now, you can just do that. I'm so smart. Last
time for the soapbox.

S'all for now,

Subject: failed attempts at Conan tix..help?

Hey all...I'm just wondering if anyone knows of any last minute ways to get
tickets for the Conan show. I'm visiting in NY right now - several hours away
from the city - but would like to be able to make it. I wrote to the address
listed on the NBC webpage a while back and even called the # but couldn't get
through. I'm unfamiliar with the city and don't know much about going to get
tickets, so any info ASAP would be absolutly fabulous. Thank you so
much....MiceKrispy@aol.com

I would really like to hear Ben cover "whippin" by Pearl Jam of the vitology
album. It's a really fast Punk-Like song. Knowing Ben He woiuld turn it into
a slow ass Balad. I loved what he did with vasoline. he took a somewhat
silly song and turned it into something Beautiful( and yet silly at the same
Time.) god bless em'

I was wondering if you'd come along

I'll do the same if the sames what you want
But if not I'll go, I'll Go alone
