Subject: Bootlegs / discography stuff.

I'm working on a nice new visual discography for the band, and am
curious about any bootleg or CDR CDs y'all might have. If you coudl
e-mail me any information on them, I would be most grateful.

Also, if you have access to a scanner, a cover / back / CD scan would be
appreciated, as this IS a visual discography.

I am also missing the Kate promo (XPCD2164) and the early Philosophy
promo CD. If anyone has them and has access to a scanner, please
contact me. I want this to be as complete as possible.

Thanks!

Scott

PS-- New FAQ next week (hopefully)!

Hey,

It's Erik Sorensen (The BFF Official Fan Club Presidnet)

I am writing today for a couple of reasons...... for the last 6 months
now I have been throwing this fan club together.... Thinking about it,
deciding how I would launch it, Talking with the band and dealing with
the Managers, and creating a small staff of completely and totally
devoted fans to help me out with this.... I want to stress a few things
to everyone!!!!!!!!!

First of all.... I jumped into this project with all of my heart months
back ... I have put tons and tons of hours into getting this going....
and I have had a couple of BFF so-called devoted fans on the armchair
stress some negative thoughts and doubt on me and the club......

What do I have to say in my defense and response...... You are going to
get a HUGE!!!! awakening when mine... yes .... my address appears on the
Official Sony page..... you are going to get an even bigger suprise when
I completely launch everything soon with me and my staff and it suceeds
and YES!!!! you'll see The Official Fan Club address on the new album
coming out this winter and I am in no way joking......... As long as
verything continues the way it is and has been going....

Would you like me to keep going........ You are going to get an even
Bigger!!! suprise when yes...... When I help Melantha when Bffmail goes
down as of August 9th upon request and I will hopefully personally help
take it over and tie it directly in with the fan club and also do
feedback...... Really I can keep going....

What about when I launch my official fan club article and newsletter
within the next two months???? and keep doing a bi-monthly newsletter
with it's own editorial staff?????

My point is doubt me all you want and call yourselfs true fans or
whatever..... I will suceed in this and that is the bottome line....
I feel very strongly towards other people cricizing or doubting
something... If you think you can do a better job..... well we'll
see...... until then if you are a true fan you could at least
investigate and then talk about it once you have the facts straight!!!!
Ohhh on closing 2 more things 1....

To alot of people thank you for your kind words I appreciate it alot....
It means alot to me to have your support and I promise you only the best
is to come..........

Last we are still taking applications for a head webmaster... if serious
and have credentials mail me...

Erik Sorensen
BFF Fan Club President

P.S.- Frank has done alot of hard work and deserves thanks too for
keeping this going for so very long!!!!

Subject: Wow... Conan!

Armchairians,
'Ello! I stayed up extra late so I could see the boys on Conan. Yes, I'll
admit it was my first time ever seeing them play (besides those videos, mainly
BRICK... never even *SEEN* SFTD.... grrrr) but I was amazed. It was so weird,
I just got these shivers hearing them play and seeing the energy and
electricity they had. I especially loved when Ben threw the piano
stool/seat/whatever ya wanna call it at his piano. Loverly touch. I must
say, these days Song for the Dumped really speaks to me.... maybe because my
$#!%head boyfriend dumped me... Yeah, I've actually had fun with that. (All
the fun you could possibly have, that is) I enjoy turning up SFTD really
loud, screaming along with it (even if they aren't screaming) and beating my
pillows to a senseless pulp. I swear, the next time I see him I'm gonna
"throw him a right to the chin". Hard. I also like screaming along with the
part of OAD where he says... "You'll be sorry one day yes you will, yes you
will, you shouldn't push me around 'cause I will, yes I will, You'll be sorry
when I'm big yes you will, yes you will, YOU WILL BE SORRY!!!!!" <out of
breath>

Okay, enough venting about the dumb $#!% ex.

Another thought crossed my crazed little mind today after seeing them...
wouldn't it be funny if they all dressed the same a la J5? Or they went goth
wearing all black, dyed their hair, eyeliner, combat boots everything? Hee
hee. Or maybe they went funk-ay with big neon pants and orange hair. Tee
hee.

Well, that's all for now. Feel free to e-mail me to assure me that I am the
loser that I know I am.

Now for the stuff I think I'm supposed to put in here:

Hello all,
I saw the Conan show and DAMN! they ruled! Ben looked nice sporting his new
glasses, Rob had a very nifty jacket on and Darren..just flippin RULED. I
loved it when Rob took the chord out of his bass and was pressing it against
his hand, he had that look on his face like "looky what I can do". And when
Ben threw his stool at the piano, it was just great! Im very happy.

love yas all

Ben folds five really sucked on conan. They totally screwed up that song. I
love the group, but that wasn't such a great career move for them!

WELL,

I'm sure everybody knew this would happen soon, as does with any television
performance by bf5. Of course my vcr did tape the show...but in the place
of their singin there were weather reports & talk about viagra. 'What
happened?' you ask...somebody left the sap feature on my tv so instead of
hearing Conan, all I hear is the news station. So...I could see them
playing sftd, I just couldn't hear it. sigh....ANYWAY, if anybody can make
me a tape of possibly the whole Conan show that would be more than great.

what a shitty day, it doesn't tape...then i had to go to a funeral.

Conan O'Brien on July 16(actually the seventeenth... it was at midnight) was
the best ever. Why? Three words: Ben Folds Five. In the beginning, his
monologue went something like this:
"We have a huge lineup tonihgt... Matt Dillon[moderate applause], Jake
Johannson[not as much applause as Matt Dillon], and, get this; Ben Folds Five,
everybody![huge applause and yelling] Whoa, quiet down, the whole point is
ratings! If your yelling about Ben Folds Five wakes people up, they're gonna
say, "Hey, this is on." and change the channel! Keep 'em sleeping![which only
brings more applause]. So, all you guys like Ben Folds Five?[at this point, I
had to turn down the volume, the shrieking and yelling was so loud.} Okay,
I'll take that as a yes! Well, we got Ben Folds Five at your disposal, and
we'll be right back after this!"
I actually cut out most of the parts that weren't about who was on, but you
get the picture: Lots of Ben Folds Five fans were there.

Of course, during the performance, the boys were showing off in the cutest
ways. Like, Ben picking up his stool and hurling it a couple of yards at the
piano, and before that, just pounding his hands on it. The way the boys were
placed onstage, it sort of looked like all the spotlight was on Robert(which
is probably true, literally, because they only had one big spotlight). They
sang Song For The Dumped, a very refreshing change from Brick, which just
would've brought out their quiet side. No, no, we want their loud side, so
SFTD was perfect!

Well the guys certainly ROCKED on Conan! Robert's bass must have been
turned up to ELEVEN, maybe even TWELVE. I'm so glad that they altered
the song, though I suspect that time constraints may have played a role
there. Quick observations:
- -Ben looks cute in glasses, hope he keeps wearing them- I like the look.
- -Robert had obviously invested some of that PLATINUM ALBUM income on new
duds. Love the Buffalo Springfield look. Very cute.
- -Darren is always cute. Always.

Oh my Gawd! A television performance actually displaying
characteristics of a live concert! For those of us who will be waiting
6 months or more to see a live BFF show, hopefully this will keep us
going.

*in awe*,
Barbi
ps. Does anyone else have a fetish for those type of glasses?
