Good morning, lethargy,

1. Whoever was mentioning about how the radio sucks (was it Lauren
Talbot?), at least you've got a half decent choice. Let's have a brief look
at the state of UK radio. Capital FM. Utter shite - nothing but Lighthouse
Family, Robbie Williams and shitey dance. 210 FM/Eagle just as bloody bad.
Radio 1 - gone nightmarishly downhill since 1995. Still no BFF heard on it.
Virgin - not bad, but tend to play too much shitty 80's stuff like Soft
Cell. X FM - purrrlease! No chance, hardly anyone gets it. So in summary -
they are basically all the FM stations "worth" listening to. We don't have
every frequency taken up on our radio, we don't get an enormous choice,
I've only heard BFF on the radio two times in 2 years (Brick and Battle)
and I'm pissed off! I've tried getting stuff requested too, expressly
saying not Brick, not Battle, an album track, and I'm told "no, the
listeners don't want to hear that" (after I asked for Last Polka) (a) has
the receptionist/telephonist/whatever actually heard of the damn song? (b)
How the %"&$ would she know what millions of people want to hear?! MTV
_never_ plays their vids, I've seen Battle twice on VH1 (VH1!!! They should
_not_ be on here!) and Brick once on the Box, and that's it, and know you
go and tell me SFTD video was on the bloody Chart Show when I was playing
footy. Bastards!! So please, Americans and Aussies, count yourself very
very lucky - at least it happens with some regularity. I mean, BFF last
appeared _live_ on TV in a studio when Kate was released over here,(I
think, on TFI) which was godknowshow long ago.
*deep breath*

2. Counting Crows live album rocks. Enough said.

3. Em, Em, Em. Catatonia? Please. They too are poor. Her voice is the most
irritating bar none on the music scene today. And SFA's kick arse live.
Esp. the man don't give a f***.

ps i am w***ing as i write this
and no, I didn't understand this. I don't think the world needs to know
what goes on in the privacy of your own home :) hahahaha, yes I did get it.
Very droll. :)
Sorry 'bout the rant,

Luke

This is to Stacy who is "jaded by Ben, Darren, and Rob's jadedness"

This is Doug. I claim to be BFF's tour manager.

Conan was finished filming at 6:30pm. Darren and Robert flew back to
Raleigh on the 8:30pm flight from JFK or LaGuardia, I forget which, when
they left the NBC studios they had about 1 hour and 45 minutes to get to
the airport, check in and get to the plane, allowing for traffic they
were a bit rushed.

I think that anybody who has seen how the guys treat everyone at shows
compared to the standard 'rock star' stereotype would agree that being
in a hurry doesn't make them jaded.

I'm not trying to make excuses for the guys, but I've been on tour for
the last 14 years with more different bands then some of you have seen,
and BFF are my favorites. They care more about the people who got them
to where they are then anybody I know.

All right, enough of me ranting. Next thing you know I'll be throwing my
opinion into the cover song debate, 'The Moment' off of the album 'Dark
Room' by a band called 'The Angels' aka 'Angel City' would be amazing,
or maybe 'I Feel The Earth Move' by Carole King, or how about 'Fox On
The Run' by 'The Sweet', or then there's 'A Night In The Life Of A Blues
Singer' by 'Thin Lizzy', I suppose 'Ace Of Spades' or 'Iron Fist' by
'Motorhead' are both out of the question, but what the hell, it can't
hurt to mention them, as long as we're in a metal mood how about 'Death
Or Glory' by legendary NWOBHM band 'Holocaust', I guess not.

Anyway we're in Perth Australia now, at least Ben and I are, we came
straight from NY, the other guys are coming from Raleigh right now, they
left 8 hours ago and don't arrive until tomorrow. The glamourous BFF
tour life includes 26 hours in 3 planes, 4 hours of layovers in 2 cities
and 15 hours of time changes but here we are!

See you all next tour,
Doug

Hi All!
I just wanted to say that the Conan show was awsome! I was on
vacation with my family, so we all stayed up to watch the show ( I had a
friend tape it for me, GREAT FRIEND). My father looked at me after the
show was off and said," I would not fall asleep at one of their shows."I
know ya'll are saying so... but this man feel alseep ninth row center at a
U2 concert... so this was a HUGE compliment to the BAND!
While I was on vacation, my little sister is looking at colleges
so we stop at UNC-Chapel Hill, and I go do my own thing and and wander
into a local shop and they had all kinds of BBF stuff! I was so
excited... I do not know why I was surprized, but I was. I bought one of
everything that they had- and I got a poster too!
Well.. that is all for my useless rambeling!

Hello Armchair Inhabitants,
This post is totally inane to you all, and I do sense that it sucks. But oh
well. I want to feel powerful!
	Okay. Double Space.

Strangely, I was wondering the exact same thing <JenH330@aol.com> asked
about-- if anyone who saw the taping knew what they were talking about. I
only caught that last snipet. Just curious.

Not to be rude, but <Keyserdan1@aol.com>, by your post did you mean that just
because you begged the band to go nuts, they did? Hmmmm... Well, if you're
telling the truth, I guess that's pretty damn cool. I repeat- not trying to
be rude, just commenting. The last thing I need is mean e-mail...

I feel very sorry for "Lauren Talbot" and Judi Smith and all the others who
have complained about their pitiful stations who don't play BFF, except for
everyone's favourite, Brick. (Hey, I still like the song, even if it IS
extremely over played) For any fellow Richmond BFFers, we all know that 106.5
THE BUZZ is very good at playing their stuff, and often. I even heard OAD the
other day. They've played all the released singles/songs/whatever you wanna
call them: Battle of Who Could Care Less, OAD, Brick, Song for the Dumped.
Very cool. I remember running to Circuit City to get WAEA after I heard OAD
for the first time. Poor, poor people with their sad sad stations. Just felt
like bragging about my BUZZ. :o)

"Lauren Talbot", I sincerely hope you're kidding. SURELY there cannot be a
"club mix" of Brick! Reminds me of the club version of Celine Dion's "My
Heart Will Go On". (I hate the regular version, and I'm not a Dion fan, but
it's a nice, decent song. Decently over played, but none the less, decent.)
And I was flipping through channels and saw our little Canadian Diva (by the
way, I loved the sketch about her on the last epidsode of SNL- hilarious)
talking about how people had made a club mix of her song. Here's where we get
back on topic. She felt that you know, society today just wants to boogie,
they don't care about the beauty of the song. *The song is not meant to be
played that way*. If I were BFF, I would be extremely angered that some DJ
totally ruined the effect of my song. But then again, that's just me.

As Amy mentioned, the boys will be on the SNL rerun next Saturday, but of
course, the one SNL I haven't seen this season would have *them* on it, and
when they played the rerun I *would* be driving to the beach... so could
someone please tell me what songs they play, and your opinion of the
performance? Reply is appreciated, you may e-mail me privately.

I totally agree with Don Curtis, this mailing list is for BEN FOLDS FIVE!
(woohoo!) Counting Crows are great and everything, but I joined this list to
read about BFF. I have no problem with mentions or anything, but like Mr.
Curtis said, a page is a bit much. Muchas Gracias!

Mr. Erik Sorensen, the BFF Fan CLub president is sounding very unloved. Well,
I'd just like to give you my kudos, because it sure sounds like you're doing a
hell of a lot of work on this, and I'd never have enough incentive to
accomplish something like that. Armchairians, be nice!!!

Well, for those of you still reading this, I apologize, for I have nothing
more to say! Regards from your dear chum
