Hello from Japan.... yes, I'm here in Tokyo and I do in fact plan on
hitting the Fuji Rock Festival on Sunday and I'll try and get a report out
once I get back to the states (unless someone beats me to it and I have
nothing to add)...

While I confess that I haven't been reading the armchair in great detail
of late, I'm pretty sure that this hasn't made it up yet. Our friends at
Shinko Music Publishing (who gave us the sought after piano score for the
self-titled album) released a band score for Whatever and Ever Amen. It's
142 pages of bass tabs and piano info, as well as strings and brass where
appropriate.

I must say that while I am not by ay stretch a competent piano player, I
noticed right away that some of the transcriptions are close
approximations but suspect nonetheless. If I can catch up with ben or
some managerial component on sunday I plan to ask about this.

For those who want tight details, it's a band score and the first
publication date is listed as Feb. 15, 1998. As far as I know there is no
second printing. Please don't ask me how to obtain it because I only
found the one copy and that was because I was in a bookstore in the
countryside where the only copy they're ever likely to get just happened
to still be there, plus I'm leaving Monday anyway.

I will say however that I don't think they've dried up completely yet, and
if they have the Japanese publishers will likely, true to form, reprint it
at least once. So there is yet hope. And the cover price was 3000 yen,
which wasn't too bad at all given the current 140yen=1USD exchange
rate.....

But anyway, I thought some folks might want to know in case they hadn't
already heard. Sorry if this was already mentioned when I wasn't paying
attention.

"Cool Whip, oh, oh, oh..."

...has downloaded itself inexorably into my brain. From a rather sketchy
sounding realaudio version at that.
Fairly lite'n'frothy....certainly not up to BFF's usual
standards....probably why it's not on an album....but it's
catchy....very...very...catchy.........ARGHHH!!!

"That tops it off. We think you'd better cool it down."

And now for something completely different-

I have really enjoyed reading _BFF News From Down Under_! Great stuff
guys! Would love to see some photos though....Julie...you there?
Anyway, THAT'S what the Armchair is all about, isn't it!

<<I see kids with Bf5 shirts on every day, and they know almost nothing about
the band. Half of these shirt-wearin' mom-waiting-outside-the-club-to-pick-
you-up-after-the-concert 14 year olds can barely sing "Brick".>>

i wear bff shirts and i'm 16....i don't think i should be categorized b/c of
my age...and i had to have my parents pick me up at plenty of concerts, not my
fault i couldn't drive, doesn't mean i still don't like the music...and good!
we don't want them to sing brick!...and in defense of the people who write
about WAEA, they just got on the list, they don't know what people here do and
don't have, hell for all they know we're a bunch of brickheads that threw
together a list after the release of "brick"
