Scroll if you like, full of my rantings.

I AM SO MAD!!!!

I went to this record store in Hamilton yesterday and they had the BFF
promotional poster or shipment poster (I don't know) for NBP and I freaked
out of my mind. When do we ever see these? I have the promotional one for
WAEA but not the NBP. So I run to the cashier to try and buy/claim/take the
poster and guess what the guy said...

"Oh...we could give it to you, but the staff has first choice of
posters...come back later and see if it's still here...than you can have it."
There goes my business.

For crying out loud, I live 50 minutes away! And the subway doesn't go
there , only the GO train does but then you have to change a million times
on the bus.

I am so MAD!!!

Val
I hope he has a bad day.

Normally I just lurk, but I found a BFF interview in Hits magazine-it's a
trade, like Billboard, that I haven't seen anywhere on line. anyone interested
can email me.
Two questions:
I read something a while ago about ben moving to australia-and he sounded
serious. anyone hear more about this?
anyone know what they're going to do on their vacations, before they start
recording?

<<anyway, in response to that person that was goin on about the 14 year fans
who barely know brick.. well i'm 14 myself and i liked them before that song
came out. it's really not fair to say that they barely know anything about
the band just because they're younger. >>

I know, im 14 also and i have liked ben folds five since Battle of who could
care less. Im sick of everyone always calling me a "Brickhead" or something
childish like that. Just wanted to tell ya'll.

Fellow Chairers:
I thought we settled this a long time ago. However, I understand that
people have been signing up for our armchair every day and perhaps don't know
about it yet. So I will take it upon myself, whether y'all want me to or not,
to voice my opinion AGAIN!
Leave our younger fans alone!!!!!! I, as a 20-year-pld, remember what it
was like to go to a concert at a club perhaps for the first time. It was a
little band called Riders on the Storm and I couldn't stay in my seat for 2
seconds because Mom was letting me break curfew and the club lifted it's age
requirement for the night so I actually got into Toad's Place in New Haven,
Connecticut.
And even after that first time it's still exciting for "youths" because
it's a free night away from Mom and Dad and you're surrounded by older people
who are interested in the same thing you are so you feel grown up.
It is especially a treat for younger fans to see BF5 because a lot of
times, at least around here in Dallas, they play small venues with age
limitations. I guess it's natural for them to go a little crazy. I mean
damn, I consider myself an adult and I go nuts at their shows. If that music
has that kind of power over me, try to imagine what it does to someone younger
and more vulnerable. Pretty loud stuff.
So what I'm trying to say is that we should be a little more understanding.
You were once a "stupid little 14-year-old" too. And I bet you annoyed a
whole lot of adults as well. Just remember that these "kids" will grow up to
be hard core, mature fans just like you and (almost) me.
I mean, isn't understanding what maturity is all about?

The Texas Yankee

P.S.- Just so I can add a little Bentent....I listend to NBP today in the car.
Wouldn't want y'all to think I was just wasting space.

Hey, did any of you aussies watch ground zero last night on channel
10? my cousin told me that the radio had said BF5 were on it (she
listens to B105 which is our teenybopper kinda station) so I managed
to stay awake till like 1:30 but I was half asleep and I guess I
drifted off cause I woke up at about 1:33 and I saw Ben on the screen.
Except I missed the start. Grrrrrrr.
Did anyone see it and was it particularly amazing? I saw that they
only played the Brick filmclip... I wanna know why they didn^Òt play
SFTD... probably cause it^Òs associated with the teenybopper radio
station and they thought they had better play something that they^Òd
heard of... although I bet none of them were watching at 1:30 in the
morning. Even scarier - I^Òm
related to a brickhead... that cousin that told me about Ground Zero
being on was a fan of BF5... or should I just say Brick, cause I
played Underground to her and she hated it, she hated BOWCCL and Kate
too.

This is my first time writing. i have been hooked up to the Armchair for about
a year and never really had much to say, but lately some of the issues that
have come up have been bothering me.
First of all, I am only 14 years old and i really don't think that i should be
judged just because of my age. Their music has really touched me. It made me
feel like a different person and NO!! Brick wasn't the one song that appealed
to me (i liked them before that was played on the radio), but it was "the last
polka" (my 19 year old sister introduced me to BFF) The mix of bass, piano,
and drums really appealed to me and i really don't see the problem with that!
Second of all,I hate this stereotypical thing of how all the young girl scream
out "we love you, darren(or ben or robert) i am not one of them. i have been
to 2 of their concerts and didn't do that and either did the people that i
went with (actually i went with older not that it makes a difference.)The only
thing i screamed out was the lyrics to the songs. Just like everyone else!
and then there is this thing with brick. who cares if those people like BFF
because of brick?!Let them do that because when the popularity of the song
dies down, the true fans will still be there (including me!) and to tell you
the truth, i've only heard brick on the radio about 3 times here in New
Jersey.
Look, i know i've only been a fan for about a year, and only gone to 2
concerts, but i really don't think that's any reason to think i'm less of a
fan. i may not have every single thing that they've appeared on, but you've
got to remember. SOme people don't have the money to do that. I'm starting my
first job this fall, and i can't spend it all on BFF stuff. although, i DEEPLY
admire and appreciate them. but i do have a life outside of music. thank for
your time.
