I taped Live at the Wireless last night on Triple J if anyone wants to
trade. The playlist was

Theme from Dr. Peyser
Emaline
Missing the war
Steven's last night in town
Brick
SFTD

It was a bit wierd, pretty low-energy, but still pretty funny, there was
a bit of bantering between them all, and they were taking the piss the
whole time.
Who else is sick of TripleJ and Recovery announcing them as "The Ben
Folds Five".... and this DJ was such a dickhead!

Why don't you retards just ignore the posts that offend you. It is a
waste of mailing list space just for a complaint. Just like this post
is a waste of space right now. Who cares if your 14 years old? Who
cares if you like Brick? Who cares if you don't know the driver's
licence numbers of each band member? Who cares if you don't know every
job Ben, Robert, and Darran has ever had? Sometimes you people make me
sick. And now I am a hypocrite for saying not to complain on the list,
because that is what I am doing. So you stupid hypocrites can send me
your dirty threatening email to me and don't waste space posting your
hate mail on this mailing list. I will gladly give you all three:

I have an extra, unopened copy of the Underground Single, Pt. 1. It has Satan
is My Master and a live version of Video as the B-sides. If anyone wants to
make a trade for it please email me privately.

And I'm still searching tirelessly for a copy of the Bogarts show on May 19. I
know it's out there. If you have it, for the love of God, let me know.

Hey,

I thought maybe I'd put my two cents in here...I am not a racist but I do
believe that the majority of African Americans are very ignorant when it comes
to music...Either it's black or it's bad...I doubt many have bothered to check
out Ben Folds Five or any "white" bands for that matter...which I think is
pretty crappy because look at all the white kids who dig r&b and rap and that
type of stuff...Seriously when i go to HORDE on Friday I highly doubt i'll see
more than 10 black kids, but at the smoking grooves show i bet a little less
than half of the kids were white...I just wish more black kids would open
themselves to listen to Ben Folds Five...Maybe then we'd see the Ben Folds
Five videos on MTV at a decent hour instead of Monica and all that
stuff....anyways i just wanted to say that, sorry if i seemed like a biggot!

>hope some others feel the same way.

All that I said about that post was that it took about a page to ask
what could have been asked in a paragraph. I said that that particular
message, along with others, should be a little more to the point, as a
courtesy to others on the armchair. I'm doing everyone on this list a
favor...I'm trying to make it a little more efficient to use.
If people remove their names from the mailing list because members
are trying to make it more convenient to use, then aren't they missing
the point? You see, if you'd read ALL of my post, you'd know that it
just asked someone to be more concise. My post had a purpose for the good
of this list: to make it easier to read. (I'm sorry about using sarcasm
in it, I didn't mean to confuse you.) Your post is just telling me to
shut up. So really, "Jess", YOU are the one who is jumping down someone's
throat for no reason, aren't you? Hypocrate.

To Taves, my Australian friend:

Thanks for the response! I hope I'm not out of place keeping this going on
the MA...I just thought it might be interesting...

>how in your right mind can you say LUCKY AUSTRALIANS??????
>YOU have seen bff live nine times (9!!!) nine times!!!

I guess in the big picture, you're right. But I still haven't seen Where's
Summer B?, Video, or Sports and Wine!! So anyone who has, can consider
themselves to me luckier than me.

>Brisbane got to hear 'best imitation' only because I specifically asked
>ben to play it, when i met him before the show. that WAS luck I will
>admit.

Very true. I asked them four shows in a row if they would play Emaline with
Robbie Fulks on guitar. Ben kept saying, "yeah, we'll do that or Alice
Childress." But did they? No! However, when Sandi asked for Tom and Mary,
of course they played it for her. Maybe I'd have better luck as a girl.

>so leigh....
>count yourself lucky and quit whinging
>sorry for the public flame, but some things have to be said for others
>to hear

I guess "whinging" means "whining." I learned something new today! And I
really didn't take it as a flame. It just made me realize how lucky I am to
be able to see my favorite band in the world so many times. But, it did
take a lot of work...many miles, many hours...and way too much money spent.
I've met some great people through BFF though and I wouldn't trade my
experiences for anything. I'll tell you what...come over to the US for the
1999 tour and I'll let you come along with me for the next road trip!

>(nine times!!! most people dont have as much sex as that in one year!!)

I had to smile. What does it mean if you've seen Ben Folds Five more times
than you've had sex, lifetime? I won't ask...

Just another Ben Folds Fiver,

okay, I apologise, Aussies are lucky.... coz we get Live at the Wireless
and it was great!

i'd never heard the theme from Dr. Pyser before, and it rocks - woohoo
(near the end, it sounds like ben is playing the pulp fiction guitar
theme on the piano- lurvely)

Steven's Last Night was great too, coz Ben played the Melodica (a la
concerts) and Robert sang most of the chorus (a la concerts): "Robert
are you ready for the third verse?" says Ben. "I'm damn good and ready
to rock", replies Robert. he he, great drawn out end to this song too.

As ben is introducing Brick: "I love you Ben!""Security get that girl
out of here" (he he) I see I wasn't the only MAer to be reminded of the
concert at this point.

during the intro in SFTD, ben says: "you broke my heart. Why did you?
You hurt me real bad." well I was amused by that

the ad for live at the wireless, where Robert is singing, was fun too.

anyone who didn't catch/tape it- it's repeated this sunday at 5pm.

Also: it really sucks that US and Aust. video tapes work on different
systems :( ....but there are places in Aust. where you can get the
stuff on a US video, taped onto an Aust. type tape. for money :(
so keep heart, bff video swappers.

anyway,
big sorries about my last post. it was a bit much.

and contemplate the blood I could have shed'

          Shivers~Screaming Jets

that's really a rather depressing quote to end on, now i think about it
