WARNING ON OFF-TOPIC MESSAGES
I hate to have to be list-mom again, but consider this a warning that
those who post off-topic messages may be removed from the Armchair. I
consider much of the recent discussion on racial matters to be off-topic,
particularly the personal insults, and the discussion is largely
inappropriate. Like your mom, my judgment may appear to be arbitrary but
in order to keep an all-out fight from breaking out, some of you are going
to have to go to your room.

Hey! I really didn't notice the sound on Hard Rock Live. It was
Ben Folds Five it was great. nuf said.
As far as Bette Midler doing the cover of, "Boxing" you should you
consider it as something great. What I am trying to say is that someone
wants to cover a song of your favorite band. You should be happy. It
will probably do more good than bad.
Are we still talking about racial issues? Hasn't that gotten old to
anyone else? Please send your hateful opinions to me by email because I
know I will get some.
This is off topic but so is everyone else: Saw the Dave Matthews
Band last night and it kicked ass! It was my first real concert. My
grandma made me go see a country singer but he don't count. I hope Ben
Folds Five comes to Memphis soon, because I really wanna see them live.

Subject: Burt Bacarach

Hello all once again!

I have another request of my fellow-armchairers. I heard somewhere recently
that the boys did "Raindrops keep falling on my head" from a Burt Bacarach
special on TV a while back. Well that song was my most favorite song when I
was a kid. Going on long trips in the car would be awful for my parents
because I would make them play that song over and over until I fell asleep.
Now, hearing that the best band in the world has sung this very song once, and
I have not a copy makes me quite sad.
Can anyone help me? Can anyone cure my sadness?
I can pay if someone has it on a tape.
I can say THANK YOU SO MUCH if someone has it on their computer.
Unfortunately I cannot trade. I have nothing to trade. Well, okay, I have a
tape with the boys on it with their performance on Conan O'Brien, their
Performance on SNL, and their most recent performance on Hard Rock Live. Any
takers?
PLEASE write back! Thanks all! Love ya!

Hey everyone,
This isn't a total waste of bandwidth I think, so here goes. Please
check out my webpage, not to sound full of myself, but it's not a
typical geocities site :) There's a partially full Dave Matthews Band
section and the Ben Folds Five and Barenaked Ladies sections are in the
making. So please go give it a look, and tell me (constructively) what's
good about the page and what could be changed. Here's the address:

or if that doesn't work or you have aol use this:

Subject: hard rock's stool mishap

Referring back to Sunfire's comment about the stool breaking in Ben's hand, he
DID say "Fuck!" I don't think a tv station can exactly blip something out if
it isn't neccisarly said out loud, you know??? Maybe if they should, VH1
wasn't doing a good job anyways on the show with the horrible sound quality
and the camera angles that give you headaches... I thought it was so funny
that it broke before he chucked it at the piano, but he DID twist it back on
so he could throw it at the piano twice more.
I liked the show a lot and thought they did a great job. I just thought it was
weird that no one danced or anything for them, but they grooved the nite away
for Squeeze.. Hmm.. Just a little food for thought.

Also all you Aussie kids (are Weet-Bix kids)- I discovered that Target
sells cheaper singles, that's where I got Brick from. (Ska Kate
rules...) I understand why the Brissie MAer PAID that much, I just
don't understand why they CHARGED that much. Was it an import?

Hey!

Actually, I was changing stations one evening and caught the end of Brick,
so I left it there until it finished. You see, my radio/alarm clock is one
where you have to use a dial to change channels and estimate what channel
you are on. So I thought it was 104.1 since it is so close to 104.9 (triple
m), but when it got to the end of the song, I found out the staion was
triple m. I was absolutley shocked.

Another triple m story. My brother was listening to this station in his
room and he came out of his room into to mine to tell me that someone
requested Brick but the radio announcer refused to put it on cos it is not
a "rock" song. So, there's a bit of contradiction for you by triple m.

BTW, anyone know when SFTD is released in OZ?

It's nice to be back, armchairers!

I just have a couple things to say since I've been gone for a month. First of
all, for those of y'all who wear fannie packs and watch MTV, I have a serious
problem with that station. I mean, today on Drive-Thru America they were in
Chapel Hill at this day spa, and not one mention of bff! That's sacrilege!
Oh, and then while I was gone in England for a month I got sent an email about
possibly interviewing the boys on the MTV show Fanatic, but by the time I got
back to the States and called them up it was too late!!!!!
AAAAAARRRRRRGGGGHHH!!!!!!! If i had one reason to contemplate suicide...
(does anyone know who got that pleasure?)

Well, I was happy to see that England does have bff cds in both Virgin and HMV
stores. But where were all these British singles of Brick, etc.? The only
thing I could find was the Kate single, with which I am very happy. I guess
I'll have to special order the rest. Anyway, thanks for reading this slightly
pissed off (wouldn't you be?) babble. By the way, if anyone taped Hard Rock
Live, Conan, or anything else I've missed in the past five weeks, please email
me and I'm sure I've got stuff to trade.

"God damn!" - BFF (For Those of Y'all Who Wear Fannie Packs)

P.S., I just got the brochure from University of Carolina at Chapel Hill
(Ben's alma mater) and it looks like a cute town. Guess I just gave away my
age, oh well.

Oh yeah! To those of you who have been turned down by the Ben Folds
Five Underground web ring can join mine! Ben Folds Five Underground is
like that little snobby girl on the playgound in third grade that
wouldn't let you be a part of her club. and she was too good to be your
friend. So after many rejections I decided to make my own web ring to
tell Ben Folds Five Underground they could kiss my ass! "Don't be
oppressed by the man!" Join the ring! My ring where it isn't virtually
impossible to get in. As long as you have BF5 content your in. You can
have Ben Folds Five Kicks Ass on your pageand that's all and I would
except you. Because I know you are a fan just as much as I am! At
least I have the common decency to email you back and not make you wait
for 2 fucking weeks!
