PERIODIC PURGE ADVISORY!
Just want to let you know, in advance, that I'll be removing from the
list in the next couple weeks any addresses that come back as
"undeliverable" for whatever reason - mailbox full, expired in queue,
user unknown, etc. This is to cut down on the volume of net traffic that
happens as a result, not to mention the 20-30 bounce messages sent to my
inbox for each issue of the Armchair that goes out.

I know that announcers or other uninformed people calling Ben Folds Five,
The Ben Folds Five is annoying, but technically it is the more logical
choice. It's like The Max Weinberg Seven from Conan O'Brien. I don't know
if you guys that are complaining about it realize this, or if you're just
complaining because these other guys don't know BFF as well as us, but I
just felt like pointing it out. Well, I feel like I have to point it out
because for so long that never occured to me.
Oh yeah by the way, when did Led Zepellin become a "shithouse" band?

um...I think the BFF underground web ring is for BFF sites that are really
good. Hence, they are in the ring. They exclude sites that have old content,
or just content that is boring. The sites that are in it have worked for
their places, and if you want to be in it, I suggest you work really hard and
come up with something very original. I'm just in defense of the web ring.
It's a good deal. Excellent in fact.

your webring is virtually gonna suck cause people are gonna have to weed
through a bunch of shit pages....and btw, accept is spelled with an A like

Someone asked what Alice Childress is about, and since it is my
favorite song I thought I would throw in my two cents....
Alice Childress is a song about Ben's faith in humanity, and how
the only way to have faith in mankind is to not think about the
bad things. While Ben is pleading for Alice to "try not to think
about it" and keep her faith in this messed up world by pretending "it's
not that way", he is really speaking with himself and trying to
convince himself that he should not think about it. It's really sad.
In the end, when he is robbed it totally destroys all his chances of
being blissfully blind to the cruel world. Finally, when "some dude
just knocked me cold and left me on the sidewalk... he took
everything I had", he not only steals his money, but moreover in a
metaphoric sense steals his faith, leading to the climactic last
choruses, where Ben tries more than ever to keep Alice from
realizing how horrible this life can be. (sad, eh?)

Yeah, well last Friday I was in Philly, and in the middle of the street I
realized that was missing Hard Rock Live.
Ok, no big deal, I can just tape it later this week.
So I planned on taping it Thursday at midnight. But then I was over my
friend's house, who is just down the street. It was really weird,
actually...It was 20 of 12, and we were watching the wedding singer (billy
idol can actually act pretty well!), and I kep thinking, "I should go home
before midnight." But I decided just to stay...but then I had to run back to
my house to pay my friend back, and when I went back to give her the money,
she had Vh1 on....I see them doing SFTD, and I actually screamed "SHIT! I
MISSED IT!"....so I got to see the end....But I do know that it will replay
again in September....You know, just in case there's someone else who was
stupid enough to miss it :)
