Ok.
Someone wanted me to post a reminder about my show on Sunday so that they
would be able to get it in time (they get this on the digest). So here is
my shameless self promotion.
Listen to my show, full of power pop, indie rock/college rock, and emo-kid
music. And other stuff too. Those are just the 3 genres I tend to focus
on. I have never turned down a request, save those I cannot find in the
studio, so please do email your requests to me, or call me durring my show.
My show is on Monday nights at 9pm pacific, 10pm mountain, 11 central, 12am
eastern. It lasts *AT LEAST* 2 hours, but I've been known to play over 5
hours. Just depends how tired I am, how many requests I get, and how much
fun I am having. You can listen to it on the internet from ANYWHERE ON THE
PLANET. yes, even in Australia. Yes, even in Europe. EVERYWHERE. Just
point your web broweser to http://kamp.arizona.edu and click on the link
that says something about listening in real audio. If you don't have Real
Audio, GET IT. Its a super great program, and it is FREE at
http://www.real.com
If you are interested, I have past playlists available for you to look at,
please ask and I will email them to you.
Durring my show, please call in your requests at 520.621.5806
For more info, please check out my website. Also, you can icq me if you
like. Hope you hear me soon. =-)

Subject: Touring news
Several people have been wondering about whether the upcoming shows on the
tour schedule are all ages or 21+. As far as is known, all shows booked so
far on the first leg of the tour are all-ages shows. The band is trying to
make sure that their shows are accessible to as many fans as possible.
Canadian friends, rejoice! Besides the Toronto show on the first leg, it
is the band's intention to have other Canadian shows this year. To those
asking about shows in the western US, a full tour is still being booked to
follow the UK dates.
Minor correction: The Philadelphia dates are indeed April 20th and 21st,
not the 19th and 20th as initially reported. Ticketmaster has tickets.

Well, unless they boys over at Sony are just giving us the shaft, the
journalists have not gotten their promo copies of TUBORM yet. I should know. I
work at The State News, the paper at Michigan State University. I also have
ties at The Oakland Press where I worked and they have not gotten a promo copy
either. I'm trying my damnest to get a copy as soon as I possibly can. If
anyone works at a paper in Michigan and has gotten a copy, please e-mail me. I
want to call up the boys at 550 and make sure I get what's comin' to me ;)
Thanks,
Dan
P.S. NOT ALL JOURNALISTS GET THE "Best Seats In The House" or "Backstage
passes" all the time. I've covered several concerts for papers and haven't
gotten either. Maybe I suck...but most likely, it's the entire state of
Michigan.

Actually, the Big Muff Pi (which Robert uses) is a guitar pedal
(Smashing Pumpkins are an excellent example of what it sounds like
when used on a guitar) which works quite nicely as a bass pedal.
Electro-Harmonix have recently (read: about 5 years ago) re-issued the
Big Muff Pi, and Robert (after having his vintage original break) uses
one of the re-issues.
If you're curious about any equipment the band uses, check the FAQ.
Info current up through WAEA is listed, both live and studio.
http://www.benfoldsfive.org/faq/, or check newsgroups. Also, if
anyone is interested in (quite accurate) bass tabs for various BFF
songs, feel free to e-mail me.

Oh yeah, and the fuzz thing Robert uses heaps can be expensive, you'll
need some kind of effects pedal, not just ba

Sorry for having nothing to do with BF5 but I've heard these two
bands mentioned before so I thought you might be interested.
Fountains of Wayne have a new single out this week in the UK called
Denise.
Also Elliott Smith is releasing Baby Britian from the XO album on
19th April in th UK.
Actually I do have something Bf5 related to say. I'm seeing them at
the Wulfren hall, Wolverhampton hall on the 10th May and I can't
wait. I am so pleased that their playing in the Midlands. It's meant
to be a really good smallish venue. Cool.

I bet I'm not the first, but I hope i am:
bad teacher- bad teacher, listening to ben folds on your radio when you
should be doing other things
okay heres the low down on the interview:
BEN HAS MOVED TO ADELAIDE
I can finally say outloud: HE AND FRALLY ARE HAVING KIDS (mini bens!!)
ARMY HAD ITS WORLD DEBUT ON JJJ
and it ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! very autobiographical and it has trumpets
and most importantly it mentions the MULLLET!!!
which as you will all recall we discussed with such humour late in
december and early in january this year on this very armchair:
SEE IT ALL TIES IN!! off-topic then, but no longer (especially that the
singer mentions having had a mullet haircut....)
oh yeh and i keep hearing built to spill on jjj ('carry the zero'
specifically) and they are cool. I liiiiike.
ben (the man himself) confirmed that said album is called TUBORM, and
told a funny (and true sounding... we know these guys and their lies)
story about darren using teh name reinhold messner on a id card scheme
and getting thrown into jail for it (very abbrevieated version here-
darren was a jailbird, very cute!)
and ben said the album is coming out on april 27th
they played, fear of pop, ARMY!!!! and in love (and not the album
version methinks, I hear ben say, 'hey thats...' about it as I left the
room to rush to class)
that was so exciting to listen to. I had all the old chills adn buzz and
now I'm going to listen to it again, but backwards this time so that I
can retrieve any hidden messages (that was me taking the piss at my own
desperate fandom there)
oh yeh and I'm a bad girl for doing a double message to the ma and rf.
c'mon! I have like, no time.
btw has anyone heard adn pissed themsleves at that m&m song: 'my name
is'
this my people is what these damn mailing lists are for!!!
taves (very excited, very very excited and definitely excited)
(i love army.)
(it's my new favorite song)
'hi, my name is, my name is, my name is - could the teacher please have
the attention of the class...'
m&m 'my name is'
hee hee hee
woo-hoo
i love you all
i love everyone!!
okay I'll go now

'the band broke up citing artistic differences...
and later reformed without me'

Since JJJ is supposedly playing the debut of Army today, I went ahead and
put together the lyrics for all you crazed Australians.
Any crazed Americans, Candians, French, and others are also welcome to check
it out. That is, if you don't mind having the lyrics "spoiled" ahead of
time. It's up to you if you want to look :-)
