Just to let you know, Ben Folds Five lost to the Rentals' new song by a vote
of 79-2. Hmm. And I was one of the 2 who voted for it. Callers expressed great
distaste for the song as well...it's not looking good folks! Or it is looking
good depending on which way you look at it.

My college radio station just played "Army" for the first time today...I must
say, I like it a lot better on the radio then my mp3. The dj was running some
kind of "cage match"/ viewer's choice thing, and when he came back he said, "I
don't normally say this, but I really, really don't like that." It's kinda
candy-pop ain't it? I dunno. I'm not seeing TUBORM turning platinum with
"Army" as a lead single...and I'm as big of a BFF fan as anyone out there.
My two cents,
Dan

I work at Camelot Music and I noticed that the price for the video/cd is
$30.99 in our computer, but I'm sure that will be cheaper at other places.
Oh, just a side note, I found a copy of WAEA on vinyl, it is pretty cool.

help. someone please give me some information of the tufts university show on
president's lawn (i don't know what this is) in medford, MA on may 1st. i am
missing all of the shows near boston and in new england because of my trip to
europe. i know this show is supposed to be students only but i am accepted to
tufts and some friends of mine are freshmen there. my friend got accepted and
is already registered for the fall. i need to catch bff at least once in my
life. the date keeps disappearing and reappearing on the official site and i
called tufts to ask about it and they laughed at me because they had no clue
what i was talking about. if someone wants to help me, i would be greatly in
their debt.

Yeah, Chris Evans is a fan of the band - I remember that he played
Philosophy on his radio 1 show one morning in late 1996, and instructed all
his listeners (in his usual cocky way) to go out and buy the album.

I wouldn't have thought that the band would come over just for one
appearance - has anyone heard of other shows they'll be on?

Paul.

Dear Armchairers... You lovely people!

Thanks for the post regarding TFI Friday, I'll be watching that!
Also I just popped into cdnow.com and hopefully got myself one of the
limited edition CD's with the video bits, I hope I got the right one,
one was about $12 and one was about $20 so I opted for the latter. I'll
probably have to pay tons on the customs charges though (boo, hoo).

Anyway, I still haven't heard "Army" no one will play it over here, I've

tried all the suggested stations too, still maybe Chris Evans will play
it soon!

Got to go,

Victoria

It would be annoying if TFI was the only show they do in the UK. As ~joyti
said before it really does suck. If you want a laugh at how people in
the media never get facts right then goto the TFI site and see the
information they have on BF5.

http://www.tfifriday.com/home.htm

I hope they do the Jools Holland show. I remember when they played
Philosophy on their and it was fantastic. Maybe they'll do Live &
Kicking as well or the ITVAnt & Dec kids show. BF5 on UK Kids T.V
would be amusing.

Has anyone heard Army on UK national radio yet ? I haven't heard it
on Radio1 and I don't listen to Virgin any more.

Hey y'all....anyone else hear Chicago in the horn section of "Army?" I do. I
recently acquired the radio promo of it from WHMP, 99.3. For all of you in
the
Northampton area, they're not playing it because they gave it to me :) They
said it wasn't "radio-friendly" or some other crack like that. I was tempted
to whoop some ass at the radio station yesterday but my boyfriend doesn't
like
it when I do, he thinks I show up his manliness or something crazy like
 that...

 Amherst....who's going??

 Sarah ;)
  >>
I could not agree more about the sound of the horns ... very reminiscant of
Chicago ... that's the first thing I thought about them. The horns sound alot
like "Saturday in the Park" or whatever that song is.
On a further note, an opening-up of a can of whup-ass on that radio station
would be required and appropriate. Even the annoying, top 40 station here in
Philly is playing it! Why shouldn't they?!

 Hey Chickens!!

(call me stupid, but) I have decided to take up the shirt thing where
 it left off.

That's a good thing for us Aussie's, not so good for others as
 postage may be slightly higher.

Anyway, the first step will be choosing the design. I've called a few
printing companies, and would just like to advise that the price
seems to escalate sharply for detailed designs with many colours.

Another thing (sorry to get dictator-like, but this could get
extremely complicated so I have to decide a few things first), the
shirts will be Australian made, cotton or polycotton, one colour,
 round necked and short sleeved.

So just a few restrictions for my sake...
 1. Limit yourself to two colours
 2. Simple design
 3. Small print on front/ large print on back
 4. No profanity

(if you have a huge problem with this email me and i'll see what i
 can do)

The second step is getting an idea of how many shirts to print. I'll
only be able to finalise the price after i know how many we'll need
(sorry), but it shouldn't be more than $A 20. I have no idea about
postage to the States or Europe, but I'll find out soon.

If you think you'll want a shirt (I won't hold you to it this time...but
please try to make your mind up quickly, as i want to get the shirts
out asap.) email me privately with the number of shirts you want,
an idea of size (sizes will probably be limited to keep costs down)
 and your idea for design.

I'll try to keep this private so as not to clog up the 'chair (nice to
 see things moving again :-).

So if you're interested please write to me privately or you might
miss out, as i'll only post to the 'chair occasionally.

see ya chickens (sorry for my long winded ramble)
  - julia

PS- My little disclaimer: I'm not in this for profit and I won't be held
responsible for any lost mail or socks) >>

Yeah, I'm up for a shirt. A small, or should they not have small, a medium.
Thanks!

Has any body heard BAZ LUHRMAN's "EVERYBODY'S FREE TO WEAR SUNSCEEN?" It
is a song, if you can call it that, that sounds like a knock-off of FOP's
"IN LOVE." It might have been made before FOP, but It sound a hell of a
lot like In Love to me....You can hear a .ram here:
