Wow...the new cd is very different from the others. It
just sounds so less pissed off. Much more of a classical
influence. I like it a lot. I definately agree with
melissa that the hospital song is very pinkfloydesque. I
was thinking that myself. Also, on Army, Ben's voice
sounds like it is altered or synthesised in some way. Like
they just added some computer stuff to make it sound a
little different. But overall i like the cd, and i
definately plan to see them in charlotte in a month.

I've got a copy that I don't want, so I'll sell/trade it. I'd really
like to get a copy of the new album with Dr. Pyser on it. E-mail me
and let me know. Boys are coming home (almost) to Raleigh May 27.
I'll be there.

I'm listening to TUBORM right now, as we speak and I like it the more I
listen to it. I guess you can say it just kinda grows on you. I just wanted
to put that in there first to let you know, I LIKE IT!!!
When I got my cd Friday, I was sooo excited to put it in my cd player to hear
what I refer to "old skool BFF" as Ass kickin music.... But, for the first
time, all the piano is nice and flowy and not banging the ivories like I
love... Like, I can't picture Ben throwing his stool at the piano after Mess
or any of the songs on this cd, can you???
Has anyone else noticed, the lack of the word, Fuck is in this album besides
in Army??????? Maybe I'm mistaken, and I prolly am, but I just wanted to note
that fact.
Everyone thay offered me tickets to the Chicago Show, thanks again!!! Have a
GREAT time!!!!

hey kids, it's jody. i'm happy to have been mentioned in a few people's
posts. we are so lucky that the boys were in new england for so many
dates! i have met some great people through the five, and i hope to see
you again at more shows! hello to leigh, lindsay, robin, paul and mike!

so, williams wasn't the best, and it was a 2 1/2 hour drive, but it was
better than sitting on my bum watching tv. tufts wasn't the best either,
but it was much better. me and my bff concert buddy kate got to hang out
with the boys for a little while and we even got hugs from them! we told
them that we would miss them because this is our last show for a little
while, and they said they'd miss us too! i must say, as cool as ben is, i
prefer talking to and hanging with darren and rob. i think ben just seems
a little distant, but darren and rob actually approached us as we were
sitting near their tour bus! i was talking to my brother about the
conversation rob and i had and my bro said rob was flirting with me! huh,
i didn't even really think about it at the time, but maybe he was!

oh geez, time for homework.

<in 'your redneck past' it sounds to me like ben is clearly saying "your
<redneck ASS" one of the times -- at about 2:47. its right after the line
<about getting books on tape to learn about holes in space. anyone else hear
<it? its blatant to me.

yeah. i heard that too.

regrets was originally the bridge to army. that's why they are so similar.
if there are themes on tuborm they are thought and sleep (dreams too). my
opinion. the difference between ben folds and me is that when ben folds sits
down to think about things, he creates great songs but when i sit down to
think about things i just think about ben's songs.

Subject: bff at tufts, reviewed

Today the tufts daily published its review of yesterday's spring fling
concert headlined by bff. the writer absolutely trashed the band, calling
it the most anti-climatic headliner possible. this is funny enough alone,
nevermind that they were following sugar hill gang...anticlamatic
following a band whose one hit came 20 years ago?

the author said the crowd was bored and sleepy throughout the set, i
didn't think that was true. i think anyone from the armchair who was there
would agree that it was a good show, and a lot of the people around me who
didn't know bff aside from brick seemed to be won over halfway through the
show. in any case, i just thought anyone there might want to know how the
show was received.
