hey armchair people...

not to make any chicago people pissed, but this is the second show for ya'll
in like 6 weeks. you seattle people really got dicked over. it kinda seems
unfair to me... to play two shows in two months in one city, then NO show in
another city. i live in richmond, va. and we haven't seen the boys here
since november of '97. why can't we spread the wealth, no? i really feel
sorry for seattle...

maybe the guys should play two or three consecutive nights in seattle to
make up for this...

magically yours,

There is one kind of hidden track that I haven't seen anyone else mention
yet, so I will. (not really bentent). Anyways, on the Counting Crows live
album, Across a Wire, at the end of the first cd, if you just let it play
through, it skips through the first few minutes of the last song and all you
hear is a sound like a record that's at the end. However, if you advance to
the last track with the skip buttons, or ff/rew, you can get to the beginning
of the track where the song "Chelsea" is hidden. Sorry in advance to anyone
who gets mad about non-bentent.

ok, I guess I'm not the only one that's hearing that sound. To me, it sounded
like it came from the piano. Hmm...it's hard to put in words, but the pedals
on the piano (that alters or sustain the tone of the sound) often makes that
noise when released abruptly. That noise you heard was probably the "dampers"
that's being lifted or released from the strings of the piano. I'm pretty
sure that's what it was. I'm only an amateur pianist but I've heard that
noise countless times. Well, anyways, I hope I didn't confuse you anymore
than you were before. Just wanted to help.
By the way, is anyone going to their L.A. show on June 10th ( @
Palladium)? Email me privately.

hahahaha! this post was damn funny, i laughed quite hard. (it was
perhaps a little unnecessarily aggressive, but funny nonetheless.) there
was a massive reaction to the "french in regrets (sic)" thing, hey? i
thought it was funny. i also posted a translation, so i am partly to
blame, but i felt like it, so there.

as for the george thing, i gotta agree with Aimer Hater, get over it! he
won't go away, he is probably still going to piss you off, but if we
don't respond, he will get no satisfaction out of it and he will
eventually go away. so like your mum said, ignore him.

while people are comparing discs
with hidden tracks and such, i
thought i'd say this:
there are quite a few things
(besides the hidden track) on
the australian waea that aren't
on the american one (that i have
anyway).
*the "i liked that one" at the end
of dwarf only goes "i liked..."
*the door noise at the end of fair
is shorter.
*no talking after brick
*no "cool" after SC&C
*the last note of SLNIT is shorter
(and *no hidden track).
just in case anyone cared,
janet

Sorry for being so ignorant of the hidden track thingee, I am enjoying the
hidden track on Tuborm emensley. I've never heard a band do anything so
funny. If you go to the fifth song, and rewind, you can hear that "Magic"
backwards is actually the hidden track.
Thanks again

I've seen several web sites that are advertising an import version of TUBORM
with a bonus "7 song CD-ROM". I believe the multimedia version was
cancelled. Does anyone know what this is?

Hi Kiddies

I have one copy of "Truth & Rumors with Ben Folds Five" left available.

What I want for it:

1) Good DAT-quality tapes of the recent Irving Plaza shows (4/27/99 and
4/28/99)

or

2) "Uncle Walter" CD single

BTW, the version of "Emaline" on the Australian bonus CD is by far the BEST
version of the song I've ever heard, IMHO.

Go to it, make my day!

this about another NY show ???? If anyone has major details concerning
another NY show, please let me know !!! Well that's all for now !!

Subject: To Everyone

Recently there's been a lot of anger over redundant posts and e-mails. You
have to think of the way this digest is set up!!! Someone posts
something---i.e. "What's the hidden track"--and everyone receives this in the
digest. Then people post responding to that question NOT KNOWING IF
ANYONE'S GOING TO POST (or e-mail) THE SAME THING. On the other hand, if no
one posted an answer or e-mailed you because they thought someone else was
going to answer your question, questions would never get answered on the
armchair. Let's stop this nonsense of complaining about complaining and
think about the basic workings of the digest before reacting.

If you listen to magic (it's easier too hear with earphones) there's like
little noises throughout the song, I'm supposing the the sound of the piano
keys going down (like if you press a piano key that doesn't work all you
hear is the keys hitting down)
