Hello... I'm an armchairite from Tucson, AZ... any others?

I used to post all the time on here, now I only read it soemtimes...
nothing personal... And BFF is still my favorite band, has been since
those Cool in School Tshirts and Underground on the radio...

Anyway.

I have tix to see BFF june *7* not june 6. Now, while I wish they were
playing a smaller venue, I don't want the date changed cuz I have tix to
see Elvis Costello on the 6th... so given the choice I would pick Ben, but
I really don't want to be out 50 bucks, ya know?

So anyone with the straight dope who wants to fill me in, it would be much
appriciated. Also. Anyone who wants to meet up, let me know. Email me
off the list if you please, and put something like BFF in AZ for the
subject as my mail box is, um, kinda full right now.

See ya!

Here's a somewhat interesting interview. The interviewer says "Army" was
the only song on the album which was "radio-friendly." This guy must just
watch the videos.

Anyone who plays electric bass (or guitar), knows that when you pull the cord
out (or push it back into) the bass while the amp is still on, there is a
loud pop. This is what the noise is.
P.S. Who said that anyone here wanted to get a bunch of advertising on MA?

Good grief...it seems like half the population of the armchair want a copy of the Ben & Frally article judging by the amount of email I've been sifting through tonight...sewww the obvious thing to do seems to be to post the whole smozzle of a thing into a post. Hoochee mama, my fingers are going to be sore after this. The things I do for you guys...

BEN FOLDS TAKES A QUIET STEP INTO MARRIED LIFE
By Music Writer
SARAH THOMAS

He may be the man who penned "Song for the Dumped", but last night American singer Ben Folds was feeling far more secure about relationships.

The new Adelaide resident married his sweetheart Frally Hynes at their Hyde Park home yesterday.

The intimate ceremony was followed by a celebration with friends at the Botanic Cafe in the city.
Despite yesterday's inclement weather, the pair said the wedding was "perfect".

"I used to play weddings when I was a teenager," laughed Folds. "This was the best one."

Folds, 32 and Hynes, 27, met at a party in Glen Osmond in January last year, when Folds was touring with his trio, the Ben Folds' Five.

After travelling overseas together, the couple settled in Adelaide three months ago.

And the pair is due to become a family in July, with twins - a boy and a girl - on the way.

They originally decided to marry in New York late last year but Frally was ill with the pregnancy. They then planned to marry here later this year. "We just decided to do it a little earlier," said Frally, who wore an elegant cream gown by Melbourne designer Annacat.
"And it was perfect."

The wedding was very intimate, with only Frally's brother Andrew and sister Jane attending.

There are no plans for a honeymoon yet because the couple expects to be kept busy with the twins and Folds' Australian tour this year.

"But we might go to the beach tomorrow if it doesn't rain," Folds said.

The modest musician said he had settled in well since arriving in Adelaide, despite being kept away a lot with touring obligations.

"But everything is great," he said, beaming at his new bride.
"I don't have any complaints about anything"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Oh, now that Ben is such a darling, isn't he? You can see the picture that went with the article at Clare's page as she mentioned before, right here at her outstanding BFF site: http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Vine/3381/benfoldsfive.html
Oh yeah, did you notice the mistakes in that article, for instance Ben penning SFTD? 'Twas Darren! As WELL as calling BFF THE Ben Folds' Five - aggh, apostrophe and all!
I actually walked past the Botanic Cafe the day after Ben & Frally's party had been held there...My friend had to hold me back from entering the place and asking if they still had the remains of their food and serviettes tucked away in some pile of rubbish out the back - I would have sorted through it too, you know.
As of yet, I still haven't sighted Ben around the town, even though my friend's brother (the fool) has caught him in a shop without saying even a "hello there" to him. Also, a friend of my friend's sister (oh what a tangled web we weave) lives just around the corner from Ben & Frally, but I haven't got the exact address yet...I would LOVE to interview Ben or even Frally for my English assignment. A few people on the armchair seem to have interviewed him before...how did you set that up? Me, well, I'm considering just rocking up and knocking on the door, but I think that might be a bit rude. Oh well, 'tis all, 'tis all, goodnight to y'all.
"I feel like lint on a towel" - a metaphor I proudly made up tonight when feeling useless in the packing up stages of lighting and electrical equipment from a concert I was in. Ooh boy, which reminds me - if anyone knows the jazz singer Grace Knight, please boycott all of her shows. She really is a mean, spiteful, rude cow of a woman.
Subject: Redneck Past on TV & Me going to Summer Stage
	Well, remember how someone said he heard "Regrets" playing on an NBA
pregame show?  Well, history has repeated itself ... kinda ...  Anyway, I had
just finished watching the series finale of Homicide (the best "cop show"
ever), which I had taped last night, and I turned off the vcr, and an Inside
Stuff was on (a weekly NBA show, kinda pregame) ... well, I turned off the
TV.  Then I realized something ..."wait a minute ... that music ... it sounds
familiar ... oh my god!  It's redneck past!"  so I turned it back on and it
kept playing for a bit ... they were doing some personal profile about some
player.  I think it had to do with his roots, or his house, so I guess the
song relates then. Wow, this is really my first time hearing BF5 when not
expecting it!  Especially on TV!
	Anyway, isn't this great:  Here is the dialoge that occoured between
my father and I this morning:
		My dad comes into my room ....
Dad:  Good morning
Me:    Hey, were going to central park in New York on June 24th (we live 2.5
hrs away)
Dad:   Uh-huh (sarcastically), and what's there?
Me:     Ben Folds Five
Dad:   Wait ... June 24th ... what's june 24th ... my anniversiarry with mom!
	Well, you get the idea, we planned it so that they can have a
romantic anneversiarry in central park (not at the concert,) while I meet up
with some friends from camp who live in the city, and go see Ben Folds Five,
for free!  If anyone has any info about this show, then email me.  Now all I
need is a Philly date (which, if at all, would probably be right after NY).
What a day!
let me just explain a few things, your worship:
first of all, the majority of those posts all appeared in ONE digest.  nobody
knows that when they're posting that someone else is also posting the answer to
that same question.  it's not our fault because we have to wait for the digest
to come out before we know whether the question is being answered.  but because
we're being nice, and helping to answer someone's questions, we get flamed by
people like you.  thanks, i appreciate it.  it helps to have morons like you
that don't understand how things work and therefore think it's your job to
flame on this list.
***SNIP***
your time?  your precious time?  oh please, just skip the damn message (as you
say so below!) if it's not worth your time.  we're not posting on the armchair
in mind of your time, we're posting to talk about ben folds five.
we're just trying to keep the armchair a friendly place.  when all a person
does is flames other posters and stays completely off topic, a problem arises.
> or how cute (fill in the blank) is, and
what's wrong with that?  someone sees magic played on tv and they mention it as
a bf5 sighting.  i was previously on a triumph autos mailing list where we
would post sightings of triumphs in movies and on television.  there's nothing
wrong with that.  and as i explained above, it's nobody's fault that the post
happens to be repeated.
yeah. asshole. that sounds about right.  next time, keep your uneducated flames
to yourself.  they aren't wanted here.
Hey, has anyone noticed that on YMVP that if you turn it up really loud, you
can hear some other talking on the tape when Ben's dad pauses?  I think maybe
the erase heads on Ben's answering machine are a little dirty or something. =)
There was a cute little snippit of Ben Folds in the National Post today
(sat.).  Nothing big, just hair advice; I don't know why.  Oh well, it made
me happy.  Lately I've actually been seeing them mentioned in the media.
The paper, Chart magazine, and I've actually seen thee video on Much Music.
Now the only thing I need is a show in Ottawa.
Wishful thinking.
I really want to thank all of those people who sent me links to sites for
sheet music, YOu guys rock a million, I was very elated to know that a lot of
you are actually nice and if I didn't thank you personally, well thank you
now.  Because I honestly I was expecting something more along the lines of
this:
<<George, I hate you, go to hell, Burn and die there.  I hate the way you
post, You prove that your nothing but an idiot, I think we should have a vote
and kick you off the Armchair forever.>>
Well speaking on emails like that I just want to say, What makes you think
that saying that will make me stop cut and paste posting.  Honestly you are
wasting your time flameing me in public. I am sure that a lot of people like
to see posts about "George should die and Go To hell" I think it becomes
annoying to a lot of people, so what I am saying is think before you say.  We
all hate repetative topics. 100% of the content on the armchair can't totally
be BFF can it??  But just think you could be wasting as much space as I do
sometimes.  I have decided to do, maybe 2 a week mst3k posts now, with more
content.  I also want to say that my intent isn't to hurt peoples feelings
with that.  And if you don't like it use your scroller and scroll down the
page.   It takes about 2 seconds to do, besides that, have a lovely day.
