I can't resist this one... Especially since these
thoughts have been most prevalent in my mind of late.

> 1) What BFF song(s) do you as an individual do you
> find most personal?
> (Meaning
> what song(s) do you identify with because you feel
> the lyrics have
> captured
> thoughts or feelings that you have had at some point
> in time?)

"Kate." Sometimes when I listen I feel like half the
song is the person I am and half the song is the
person I want to be.

> 2) What BFF song(s) do you find it impossible to
> sit still through?
>
This is very easy, if we're talking in the context of
least favorite and not in the context of most
animated. "Brick." I have a theory that this song,
when it was omnipresent on the airwaves broke up many
a relationship. Just sitting a car listening to it on
the radio felt like such a downer.
I think it's a wonderfully penned song, but it makes
me awfully sad.

Today I was in line in the cafeteria (chicken caeser pita day, y'all!),
wearing my BFF "kiss my ass" shirt. So my friend commences to take a $5 bill
out of his pocket, hold it up, say "Your SHIRT!" and fold the bill in half.
His name is Ben. GET IT? Ben folds a $5 bill...BEN FOLDS FIVE! It was
ass-crazy monkey-butt insane.

San Franciscans... let's have a party before the show. :)

Quick question... How easy is it to get ahold of the older singles these days?
(I'm in Northeast US, if that helps). I'd like to get copies of all of them
(I.E. all the Underground singles, etc.)

Thanks, please reply privately

I received this e-mail from BFF's management, CEC. It was in response to my
"bitch post" on the Armchair #1551. I am forwarding along because I thought
you may find it of interest and take it into consideration why many major
metropoli are being skipped this turn.

Hello

I am sorry that you are feeling ripped off by Ben Folds Five since your city
will not see a BFF show this time around. I appreciate that you recognize
that Ben would not want to miss the birth of his children.

But before you assume the worst, please consider the incredible effort it
takes to get the band to as many cities as we do in such a short amount of
time. Also, look at the itinerary and judge how you could better route the
tour taking into consideration lengths of time to get from city to city
(there are legal safety limits to daily driving hours), giving the guys a
break so they are not playing more than 4 consecutive shows without a night
off, allowing time to shoot the next video, dealing with certain cities and
venues that have limited availability, and a slew of other factors.

We tried to get to Seattle and Vancouver (poor Canadians never get to see
BFF!) but getting to the northwest consumes too much time to then get across
the country to accommodate "etched in stone" commitments. Yes, Chicago gets
a lot of shows because of its central location. It is truly a crossroads.
That is also why it historically developed into such a huge city despite
being lodged in the middle of the midwest.

I only bring this to your attention so that many of the incredibly loyal fans
on the Magical Armchair will consider the band and "real life" factors before
feeling ripped off by any band.

Oh, and by the way ..... even the lord of the Magical Armchair, Frank
Maynard, did not raise too big of a fuss when he realized we would miss
Detroit this time.

Musicians and their team are only human and try to serve the faus as best as
is himanly possible. Hang in there. The band will do an extensive tour of
the US again in the fall.

Regards

CEC Management
Manager, Ben Folds Five

That is all,
Dan

since I never keep old armchairs, Ive gone and forgotten them all. anyways

Hey
My name is Monique, I devote my soul to the band, and I am a poor piano
player. My goal this year is to learn how to play selfless cold and composed
on the piano as it is my favourite song. I cannot read music, I just
dabble, but I have to do this. The piano score book that I found for
whatever and ever amen was $65 and I cannot afford it as I am a student with
barely enough money for tix to their upcoming concert. Can somebody please
please help me in my quest and maybe email me the piano music if they have
it? Are there like copyright issues here or what? Uhh...please... my email
is reinholdmesner@hotmail.com. From one fan to another.....????

Ben is most definitely saying Robert Sledge, it is a sample from one of =
their shows that he seems to have kept putting into the song. I picked =
it up too when he said Rubber sled on the Bass guitar...sounds like he =
cuts off the ge on the end of his name.

Hiya Armchairers!

It is I Victoria, from the UK!

I thought I'd better post as I haven't done so in a loooooong time!

My Boss doesn't like us using personal email much anymore so I have to
get online at home now, it will be soon! oh yes it will be soon!

Anyway, The Forum gig was awesome!!! They are getting a bit too popular
over here now! : )

I love Spare reels I got it and Truth and rumours on the same day, I
didn't know they'd get here that quickly, but they came on the day I
wore my "Kiss my Ass" shirt to work!
And YES!!!! I did finally get the babydoll T, and it fits! I bought the
"medium" Black T with the Messner cover on the tour, but was disapointed
with the lack of girl shirts!

Word to the band: MORE BABYDOLL OR SKINNY T's Please!

Ben took a camera off a girl in the front row at the Forum, London gig
and took close-up pictures for her - the whole audience just ahhh'd and
cooed for ages!
Love you Ben, Love you Darren, but love you Robert the most!!!
Especially in your nice Raspberry coloured suit! ; )

Got my tickets for the Abert Hall gig! Dress Circle though, bummer!
Still never mind, I'm taking four converts with me and the Boyfriend
this time! cool!

...and when my time is up - I'm outta here!

Victoria

Make sure to look out for the oversized Levi^Òs billboards
featuring Ben Folds Five. Here^Òs where to find them:
New York City- 8th Avenue by the Port Authority.
San Francisco- at Union Square
Los Angeles- on the Santa Monica Freeway at the San Pedro Exit.
