I'm a long time listener to the trio and had never realized they
were on the web. I am an employee at a Blockbuster Music in Dallas, TX.,
and we listen to the CD all the time in the store, and all the employees
think that it is wonderful. I suggest it to customers whenever I can. I
would like to make a request to be put on the mailing list and notified
of future concert dates and other stuff (maybe another forthcoming
 album?)

I think you are doing a wonderful thing by exposing this band, and I
thank you for all your time and trouble.

 Sincerely,
 Adam DeLisse

 Emerging from his lurking pit...

Jellyfish were great, I can only really remember 'Baby's Coming Back'
because I never bought any of their records...the 1990 (?) singles
got a fair bit of play over here on the radio, but they weren't
really to the public's commercial taste.

I worry a bit about that for BFF...Caroline aren't big enough to give
the band the push it really needs in the UK. A good video will get
you heavy rotation (see, I have been practising :-)) on MTV but over
here everything is radio-led and the release of 'Where's Summer B'
 has been too low profile.

This is a band which should be having hits right now!!! But like
Jellyfish, I get the creeping sensation that they will never make it
because although Ben Folds Five are full of top-whack tunes there is
not a crossover hit on there, except maybe 'Jackson Cannery'.

A big UK tour might change this...HINT HINT ;-)

 Farewell, my friends

I talked to someone at Club Babyhead and they said BF5 won't be coming.
Too tired! I am very disappointed to say the least.

we get those "hello" stickers and write underneath the hello:
"I'M ON THE MAILING LIST, FOOL"

well. we don't really need the FOOL part, but i just thought it sounded
 cool.

may the force be with you

 Subject: t-shirts

hi! well, i've gotten about 13 orders for t-shirts as of today. and i've
finally gotten everything straightened out, so i can tell you how it's going
 to be handled!

the cost of the shirts is $15 dollars each. i'm sorry it has to be so much,
but with the cost of the t-shirts, shipping, and the screen printing stuff
(it's expensive!), that's what i have to charge not to lose money. there
are many different colors of shirts and prints, and i have decided to get
creative, and they look pretty cool. i cannot tell you what color you will
be getting, because they are all different. i hope that is okay with
 everybody. :)

if you have a specific size that you need, let me know. otherwise you will
be getting either a L or an XL.

the design that they have on them is "ben folds five" written on the top (in
the same writing as is on the front of the cd), and underneath that is the
stick piano, blown up so it is about the same size as the words. i think it
looks pretty funky, and i've even had a couple people from around here order
them just from seeing mine (even though they don't know the band!)

so all you need to do is send me a check for $15 to "allison trentelman".
the second your check clears, your shirt will be in the mail - i will be
shipping priority mail, and it should get there within 3 days, if not sooner
 (usually sooner).

 my address is:

e-mail me if you have any questions :)

[This sounds pretty much like the ones the band has for sale. I don't
want to sound discouraging, but I've heard that as soon as the tour is
over, they're going to set up some sort of merchandise mail-order. You'll
 hear it here first. -fjm]

 hey all!

After missing the west palm beach show because of the flu (damn viruses!), it
was nice to get a Ben Folds Five tape in the mail. Granted all you can hear
are the drums, but it was still nice to finally hear a version of Steven's
Last Night Out. So, I popped in some Joe Jackson today, and I think any song
that Ben does with melodica (Geraldine and John, The Band Wore Blue Shirts,
Pretty Boys, Big World) would be a good idea.

Any ideas when they'll start recording the new album?

 Adam

What's this? a sly Jellyfish convention developing in the BFF mailing
list? This can only be a good thing. My first thoughts on hearing the
opening melody line to "Jackson Cannery" was 'S***, it's Jellyfish'.
Definitely from the Andy Sturmer school of songwriting.
Have BFF got any plans to tour the UK? I missed their debut show in
London & I've really got to catch them live. That's all you guys
drone on about and I'm starting to get severely jealous, OK?

Someone's been mentioning a possible Providence, RI show. Dearest (TV's)
Frank, can you confirm this???? I'm dying to know 'cuz I'm in Boston & if
they're playing Providence they're probably coming back to Boston as well. I
must know!! I'm sure you understand. And I'm sorry, but I, too, like the
Marco Polo-type chant "Frank..." "Maynard..." -- although I admit I probably
wouldn't be quite so fond of it if my name was Frank Maynard. That's all.
Sorry if I screwed up -- this is my first posting, you see. --- J9Good

[I think it's been concluded that they will not be playing in
 Providence. Sorry. -fjm]
