Is there any way we can order those singles form Caroline records or
something? Or does anyone know any stores in NY, that carry the Uncle Walter
and Underground singles?
Thanks.

For those interested, BFF will be playing Dingwalls in Camden Town,
London, on 18th Nov and (Caroline Records tell me), on 26th of Nov too
altho' the ticket agency I have just booked with didn't have them down for
the 26th. Caroline Records is checking this out.
Other gigs that I scribbled down are
Leicester 19th Nov
Manchester 21st Nov
Sheffield ??
Glasow 22nd Nov (thanx Zoe)
Also, having spoken to GLR (Greater London Radio), who booked them last
time round, and Caroline's pluggers, JTM, it is very likely that there
will be a short live session on said station around the 18th or 26th Nov.
Space this watch.

I think the mixup lies within the Turturro. I've got that Conan episode
on tape and it was Nick Turturro, not John Turturro. See j'all later...

i left over the summer, so i missed a lot of the listings, but BFF came
thru raleigh for the first time in AGES with Neil Young and Jewel. i
don't know if anyone else posted about this, so i'm sorry for any
repeat.... i've known these guys since very close to the beginning of
their performing career, and i've seen the audience size get bigger and
bigger, and frankly, i didn't enjoy going to see them in clubs after the
album had been out and talked about so much, but i was really afraid of
what would happen if/when they got to a huge(arena) venue. they played
Walnut Creek Amphitheater in Raleigh, I was on the grass, there were
*drunk* people everywhere screaming for Mr. Young to get onstage, people
were walking all around to get to their seats, but despite all the
commotion, (i even noticed a few of the old blue BFF shirts), i was still
drawn to the stage...they haven't changed a bit. Robert was still jumping
around, Ben was throwing his stool at the piano, lunging towards it at
times, all the stuff i've come to expect from a live show...all the stuff
i was praying wouldn't be lost in an arena. thank god it wasn't...and
they pulled it off extremely well, and it got a good portion of the crowd
yelling and cheering along. they even did "stephen" with the
melodica--and you could hear EVERYTHING...i was soooo happy!!!
unfortunately, i wasn't able to talk to them later, which i am always able
to do after a club gig, but they are back in Chapel Hell (oops, i mean
Hill :o) trying to record their next album. the lovely hurricane/tornados
came through and killed power/phone lines to a LARGE part of the RDU area,
so i don't know how well it's coming, but i've heard Feb. for BFF part
2.......
the moral is...take any chance you can to see these guys live, be it club
or arena...if they get much bigger, they may ONLY be playing arenas, but
don't be worried about them losing the closeness to the crowd. they're
incredible musicians and performers, and based on what i've seen, they
won't LET that happen to themselves---they pride themselves on a great
*show* music AND stage. take care, kids --alessa
