Check out the band Thin Lizard Dawn. You NEED to get this disc! They are
on the RCA/BMG label.
Like the Beatles meets XTC meets BFF meets Weezer.

Really killer great disc. I got it yesterday and have been listening to
it non-stop since it went in my player. The sweetest harmonies I've
heard in a long time.

Okay, I'll shut up now. But seriously go get it, you won't be
dissapointed.

PS> the Cleveland Tree structure is on the way.

I also heard Monday night the Aristocrats (A recnet joke on letterman about
Paul's Band) [laying Battle of Who Could Care Less. At this moment a thought
occured to me. Often times they play the music of a band they want to come
to the show or is coming. E.G. In the summer of '96 they would play PJ stuff
and walla the boys played the show in September. The commercial free
broadcast if you remember. Anyways cross your fingers and email Dave at

This one is a little late...one of my friends went to the edgefest in
Dallas, where the crowd wasn't into BF5. She got to see BF5 3 times that
weekend, and here she is having to defend them to some no taste idiot...

<< as for bf5, i jumped up, and yelled and
screamed, while the rest of the crowd got up to pee or sat on their a**es.
 this
one grunge-trendy-pierced-teenie-bopper was complaining how they sucked and
that
they should get off the stage. i turned around and promptly told her to
"shut
the hell up, that bf5 is the only one at this damn festival with any
talent." >>

shanna-
hey. just thought that was kinda funny. anyway- i have a short break
between
classes now- just wanted to fill you in on edgefest. (oh- by the way -
thanks
so much for all the emails! some of those bf5 people are obbsessed though!)
anyway- here was the line up.

cowboy mouth
matchbox 20
bf5
k's choice
moby
beck
cake
inxs
vallejo

i think that's it. anyway- i missed cowboy mouth and vallejo, but here's the

scoop on the others. matchbox 20 was pretty good- 2 radio hits- a very "san
antonio" type rocker band. the crowd sang along with the radio hits, but were

seated and good mannered throughout. as for bf5, i jumped up, and yelled and

screamed, while the rest of the crowd got up to pee or sat on their asses.

and she sorta looked at me, then at her friends and shut up. neato. the
crowd
was not into them, and i felt sorry for them. i do think ben was kidding
when
he flicked the crowd off though. they put on a great show, but they aren't
much
to see and the sound was distorted. they need a smaller venue. plus-
everyone
there was waiting for beck. well, then was k's choice, who was good and they

crowd liked them. then came a mad rush of people , and then standing on
chairs,
and moby. he rocked. the crowd went wild. then more mad rushing for the
stage, and then the man- beck. let me tell you- he kicked ass!!! i don't
really even like him, but he rocked out for almost 2 hours and i never got
bored
once! he rules- even if he is a geek and his music is mediocre. then, was
cake
who looked bored, and dull compared to beck and moby. the crowd dispersed
and
cake was upset i think- they had to prod the audience to participate and
chant
along with them. they were much better at sxsw. they left, and between cake
and
inxs, i saw komeda (they sat right in front of me and i said hi), stood next
to
moby (he's cute but short), and saw kate (bf5) talk to the lead singer of
cake
for about an hour, while the drummer and bassist from bf5 wandered around the

sound booth (right next to me- i waved- ha ha). anyway then inxs came out,
and
they were really good- i'd seen them before. they did mostly new stuff-
sounds
more electronic (surprize!) and michael hutchence looked hot as usual, but
very
dave gahan (depeche mode) like. even when he moved around stage. anyway-
then
we left. so it was great- a fun filled day. i gotta go i'm late- more
later!

love-- di
