The Ben Folds Five Mailing List

PLEASE OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING:

     * DO NOT send unsubscribe requests to the posting address!!
       Send all administrative requests to
            armchair-request@maillist.il.ft.hse.nl
     * Change the subject of your reply to something pertaining to your
message (not "Magical Armchair Digest, Volume X, Issue #nnn").
     * Keep your posts short. Remember, you are writing to over a thousand
people. Long posts tend to ramble. Reread your message before
       sending it!
     * DON'T quote excessively, OR QUOTE THE ENTIRE DIGEST, when
replying. Edit your quote to only the line or lines you are
replying to. Remember, unlike Usenet, everyone's already seen the
       original message.
     * Please keep non-Ben Folds Five content to a minimum. Members who
chronically post off-topic messages may be unsubscribed. This
includes chain letters, virus warnings, etc. Also, refrain from
posting a message that basically says "me too" or answers a
question that has already been answered unless you have more
details. Messages of a moderating nature are off-topic; the moderator
will handle this behind the scenes.
     * Before posting questions of a general nature (e.g., "Anyone have
tour dates?" or "What are the words to Underground?"), check the
       Web resources available.

oh gosh i feel like the biggest dolt now that i know the show will air on
hbo... i was right in front of ben =/ i wasnt too pleased with the crowd,
but the set was great. but STILL, not as good as the lollapalooza shwo where
people got to get on stage and some scantily clad woman danced on bens piano.
and he wasnt as violent... y'know, throwing himself against the piano and
doing bodily harm to himself.

anyway i want to know if anone out there has either an audio or video(i doubt
that) bootleg of the show. let me know. email me. thank you.

I noticed that quite a few people were having trouble getting through to the
band when they emailed BFF@aol.com. That is what it says to e-mail in the CD
(i think, but anyway), but as I was on AOL last night, and excited to Instant
Message my favorite band, I was thoroughly dispointed to find that
BFF@aol.com is a 12 year old girl from Tallahasee Florida who does not know
who Ben Folds Five are. She was a nice girl, and I think I talked her into
buying the CD, but other then that it was a lost. Hopefully I can save other
people the heartbreak. : ) Ben Davidson

Sign ups for the Cleveland tree are now officially closed.

The structure is complete and I should be posting it soon. Some of you
who
requested to be A>A people I had to make leafs because we didn't have
many people who were willing to be D>A branch leaders. And in order to
keep the generation to 2nd for the furthest people on the tree I just
make a few of you folks leafs. Sorry if this is a hassle for you.

Subject: Structure for Cleveland Tree

PLEASE READ EVERYTHING CAREFULLY IF YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND HOW TO READ
THIS THING!!!!

This is the structure for the Ben Folds Five show at the Odeon in
Cleveland, OH on April 26th 1997. The master tape is a digital audience
tape or DAUD.

The show fits on 1 90 min DAT tape. (if you can find one) If not just
use a 120.
Or for the Analog (cassette) people on 1 90 min tape.

For those of you who will be dubbing Analog to Analog-DO NOT USE HIGH
SPEED DUBBING OR DOLBY
TO DUB THIS SHOW FOR YOUR CHILDREN. Many of you have said that you have
high speed
dubbing capabilites on your equipment and I'll tell you now that high
speed dubbing will greatly deteriorate the quality of recorded material.
So PLEASE do not use this to dub.

For those of you who don't know how to read this thing here's a quick
lesson:

Go down the list and look for your name. when you find it look to the
name that sticks out above your listing. that person is your parent.
You should immediately contact that person to make arrangements
for trading or sending blanks for your copy of the show.

If you have nothing next to your name you are a Branch leader and
will be dubbing from the DAT you will get to Analog for the people
below you with a "-->" next to their names. contact them and make
arrangements for a trade or blank.

So if you have a "-->" by your name you are an analog to analog parent.
You will look up the list to the person above you that sticks out and
has nothing next to their names. They are your parent and are dubbing
the show from DAT to analog for you. You will have a 1st generation copy
of
the show. Likewise look below your name for the person that is tucked
in and has a "--" next to their name. They are your child/children.
Those are the people you will be taping the show for. Contact them!

If you have a "--" by your name you are a leaf.
Look directly above your name for the person that sticks out and has
a "-->" by their name. That is your parent. They will be taping the
show for you. Contact them! Your copy of the show will be 2nd
generation.

So...Parents contact your children and children contact your parents
ASAP.

Also, VERY IMPORTANT: IF YOU ARE ATTENDING A COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY
PLEASE MAKE SURE
THAT YOU PROPERLY EXCHANGE ADDRESSES AND E-MAIL ADDRESSES IF YOU WILL BE
LEAVING FOR
THE SUMMER. MANY OF YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE YOUR COPY OF THE SHOW UNTIL
WELL AFTER YOU
ARE FINISHED WITH YOUR SEMESTER.

Hi,
Remote in hand 'stone faced and cold' lovin this band, rewinding Ben Folds lyrics over
and over again.
Too bad some of those at Edgefest were asleep and missed something so obvious in front
of their noses. There were a few in Seattle, Berkeley, and San Diego who were
daydreaming during the BF5 performance, awaiting Counting Crows.
Has anyone ever heard Evaporated live? Are there a lot of BFF boots out there?
I just got my first mailings of the Magical Armchair group and you folks seem cool.

Cheers,
Garrick
