Hey kids,
I am putting up a page on my site devoted to Ben Folds and
the gang (as it were). I am also going to include a TMBG,
Bloodhound Gang, and Tool area too. I plan on giving my
favortie movies and directors some space there as well.
Anyone with any advice or stuff to include on my Ben Folds
Five area should E-Mail me ASAP! I'm gonna put more on it
besides just that, but those are going to be my main points.

First of all, I'd like to thank the person who sent me 120 minutes on tape
without charge.. (lost their email address)
While watching this video, I noticed something.. they can say "and he sees
his children smoking pot, and he knows that soon they will be shooting up
heroin" from the uncle walter video, and "kiss my ass goodbye" from the
angry dwarf clip, but they can't say "call up paul to see if he can score
some weed" on the battle video. CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN TO ME HOW MTV THINKS?
I know this subject has been brought up before, but no one mentioned the
drugs in uncle walter... cya!

Hey suckers(we all are),
Anyone mailing a video to me (Joel), Please have the tape mailed
by June 4th. I will be taping 120 minutes on the 8th, and only on the 8th.
Enough on that. Well, it's nice to see the name issue has
settled abit. One last jab..how about the "compulsive debators?"
Isn't it weird how we all seem to love the same bands? I was
very happy to see that Toad the Wet Sprocket liked BFF. That would be a
damn good show. Does anyone know who's opening for them when they come
back to the U.S.? I hope it's Cutting Crew.

Hello, and hi, and howdy, and all that
First off I want to say, NEGATE my other cover votes. Mr. Roger's theme
would be PERFECT. Did you know that good ol' Mr. Rogers is from Pitssburgh,
my home town. (I live in AZ now) And hi to all you 'burgh people who get to
see bf5 at the Metropol. I envy you. I saw many great bands there back in
the day, but none as cool as the guys.
And I second the post that gave a shout out to Chiori and Azusa. Two great
fans that make me smile, and feel all warm inside. Makes me happy to be on
the armchair.
Speaking of that, I don't remember the Armchair being a vehicle of hate. Lay
off the dis of Beeftodd, for crying out loud. He is hurting no one, and you
make all americans look like pinheads.
Who says "rad" anymore?

Hope you get this posted out by Friday the 23rd of May, because BFF will
be playing live on 'TFI Friday', (an immensely popular 'yoof' TV show
which showcases lots of 'indie' music).
Many an upcoming band has benefitted from the patronage of their rather
annoying host, Mr Chris Evans, so pehaps this will the start of Ben-mania
here in Britain. I hope many of you will get to see it, but watch this
space for a copious review. I think this will be their first LIVE UK
televsion apperance.

I agree with Sangame, Beef Todd is absolutely stoooooopid and I'm offended,
please lets get a campaign going. Ben would be distraught to find a
non-American person slaying good old traditional American values. When I
wake up on a morning I raise my little American stars and stripes flag and
proudly sing the National Anthem, praising the Lord for providing this great
nation with such gifted performers as Ben Folds Five. I too went to the
Detroit concert and "yee-haa" Ben gave a rousing performance that any quaint
little country village wouldn't understand. Gee it was swell, awesome even.
My mom also took me along but we had to go with my sister too :o( She's only
9 and when you're a cool 13 year old its kinda embarrasing to have your
little sis dragging along. Mom was excellant though, she spoke to Ben at the
end of the night and told us she was going to speak to one of the "roadies"-
is that the correct term? Anyway we had to wait about 30 minutes until she
came back. It must have been real hot where she was talking to the road
person because when she returned she was sweating a lot and her shirt top and
jeans were undone. We went home in our Chevvie after that. It was a swell
night. I especially like the way Ben can actually play a piano. Normally
these techno bands just record a sequence in, but he played it live (I think)
GEE!!! Awesome or what!!!
With regard to the cricket noises on 'Cigarettes'. Holly molly they ARE
chirupping to the USA national anthem. How cute indeed, how did they get
trained to do that? Cool and rad dude.
I think sangame should change is name to Jackson Kate Walter, that would be
so cool. Imean WOW a guy with a name of some Ben songs!!! I thought of
getting a tatoo, not a proper one, but one drawn with a felt tip pen by my
school friend Randy, but mom said I couldn't because it would go against her
traditional American values, so i gotta respect her decision, but last night
i drew a piano on my upper arm!!!!!! if she knew she'd kill me, but I'd do
anything for Ben Folds Five, so don't tell mom or I'll be grounded for like
ages!!!!!!!
AND Sangame, did you see the Gladiators where Wesley 2 Scoops kicked British
butt? How cool was he.
See y'all.

More stuff, with unfortunately little BFF content, but give me a break....
Someone mentioned about "secret" bands to recommend. Well, I don't know if it's a BFF thing, or just my taste, but I've become besotted by The Candyskins' "Sunday Morning Fever". Superb album. Most recommended.

Assuming that's a typo, and should be Powderfinger, you know, last year, in our bar at my uni halls, we had a band called Powderfinger play. That seems a pretty big coincidence for two bands to choose such a surreal name. But it can't have been them? Supporting Crowded House? After all, they played to about 30 of us, all pretty annoyed that some Pearl Jam wannabe's had come in and ruined our conversation......

No, but it's cool to know how to spell BUFFOON (or INFERIOR for that matter). Now don't get me started. You wouldn't like me when I get started.
And Bluejay, are you STILL trying to be a BFF support band? I would have thought they would have given in by now. After all, you *have* to be better than Komeda....
Nice to see the creation of alt.music.ben-folds-five. I had a bit of a shock when it popped up on my news server. Makes a change from wondering who the hell posts in alt.sex.religious.dogturd anyway.
That is all...

RE: Subject: Slander, BEEFTODD and BFF
I'm sorry to waste valuable BFF space, but please can we have some
'Mailing List Law' that prevents the transfer of negative comments.
i.e.
"Is he English or some other inferiour nationality?"
and
"Piss off and get a life you sad waster?"
plus,
"Is it cool to be a baffoon in England?"
This is a successful and enjoyable mailing list, please don't spoil
it with useless, non-BFF conversations, that benefit nobody, and are
blatantly offensive and racist. Yes, I'm from England, and yes, this
other bloke's messages were stupid. But, for God's sake, don't stereo-type
the rest of us!!!
Please, even if you must have cause for complaint, back it up with
some legitimate reasoning and don't follow your message with such
comments as:
"I love BFF so much I'm thinking of changing my name to 'Kate' I love him
and if I was gay I would marry him, if he wasn't married to Kate that
it. I've already got a stick piano tatoo on my right arm and the opening
lyrics of 'Underground' across my chest."
Hmmmmmm?! I rest my case.

I enjoy Beeftodd's posts, I find them entertaining and a nice change from
some of the same old same old about what we should call ourselves and how
good the Barenaked Ladies are (gag). Don't mean to offend anyone.
Especially since I have contributed to same old same old before.
And Sangame, or whatever your name is, be careful about going off on
"inferior" nationalities. I won't say too much because I don't know how
serious you were, since a lot of your post was obviously a joke.
By the way, to whoever suggested the b-side of 24 minutes of Ben asking if
his hands were too big, I thought that was brilliant.

Hello all,
well, this is my first post and I just thought I'd take the time to say hi.
Obviously I love BFF so I won't start telling you the extent of my love.
Anyway, on to my point......
As long as someone brought up the issue of doing covers, I thought of a great
one. For all of us that are both fans of BFF and the simpsons, we know of
the birthday song that bart writes for lisa. It was the one that the
Michael Jackson wanna be helped bart write. I just thought that would a fun
cover for BFF. Oh,and foes anyone know if ben or the guys are simpsons fans?
alright, thanks for your time.

someone posted to the list asking about when the bff song appears
in "the truth about cats and dogs", and i'm not 100% sure, but close to
it because they have an easily recognizable sound - and if i'm right,
the song appears just after brian and abby have that really long (and
interesting) phone conversation where they both say "i wish you were here"
and brian says "Ok" and leaves and then abby is running around cleaning
up her house or putting on that facial mask or whatever she was doing :)
listen for it and tell me what you think.
