TOP TEN LISTS:
The Top Ten lists of other favorite bands have been fun but are
beginning to annoy a lot of subscribers. Let's try to curtail the thread.
If anyone wants to volunteer to accept top-ten lists and make them
available some other way (such as on the web somewhere), please step
forward. Or we could all post them to alt.music.ben-folds-five! Also,
please don't post comments to the list saying how annoyed you are with
the top-ten lists, as that would be off-topic. Thanks.

did anyone tape the guys on mtv, either last night or earlier in the week?
i don't have cable, and was going to ask a friend but couldn't get a hold
of her in time.
thanks!
megan
p.s. someone asked about seeing bf5 in different states. illinois and
missouri, but that really doesn't count, since they're, like, next to each
other. :)

Subject: Brick...
I have seen many posts recently asking what Brick means.
I think some things are better left unsaid. I do enjoy
hearing other people's theories, but getting an official
meaning from the band would ruin some of the fun and
mystique.
For example, I thought Boxing was a conversation between a
father and his son, Howard. The father has been a boxer
for many years and is on his death bed due to it. Howard has
taken up boxing also, but the father wants to persuade
him into giving it up without coming off as an asshole to
his son. Because when the father was younger, his own father
told him that if he took up boxing he was no longer part of
the family. He chose boxing, loved it, but regrets the
suffering he has endured. He wants to give his son
advice without ruining their relationship.
Am I reading into it? ;)
When it was posted that the song actually was about Ali
and Howard Cosell, that song became different for me,
although I still love it.

When are they going to be back here ( in the SouthEast that is). I've seen
only one show in the last while and I require more. Does anyone know?

Well before i rant on the technology and abuse of the internet...
July issue of SPIN states that SPINonline on June 27 will feature the trio.
And now for my non BFF but armchair related diatribe...
I do not care if you post top ten lists...I do not care if you post top ten
bashes...i do not care what you post...I just want everyone to remember that
the internet is a form of expression. Yes this list has a theme and it
should stay on BFF, but if it strays a bit i don't see the harm...Is it
really difficult to use your mouse to skip over a post? The subjects are
listed at the top so you can even get an idea of what you want to skip before
you get to it...
Also...sorry to all of you hardcore fans...I guess i jumped on the bandwagon
because I like the sound of the band...Shoot me. I guess I'm ruining it for
that small group who liked it when BFF wasn't so popular...i apologize.
Chris O.
Remember when the internet was used to express opinions and was fun and
independent. Now all it is is just a reflection of all the negativity in
society.
