Hi there,
In response to the question about Ben and UNC-CH/Duke, he did not graduate
from, nor is affiliated with either.

Just to clear up matters...
The phone ring heard on the album was a phone call from "Mike
in Minneapolis", according to the boys on the WNEW New York
broadcast on April 27, 1997.

hi everyone
just note about a band I've just tuned into which is really good. I think
it's a band that BF5 fans, like myself, would like. There's a bit of
everything - piano tinkling, piano bluesy kind of stuff, a bit of rock,
island music (??) and other stuff. It's called Melis and they're a Norwegian
band. I've only got a taped copy of their album, Postgirobygget. but it's
great! And I'm sure this tape 'll be a bit worn soon. So, if you can, and if
you don't mind listening to music that's all in Norwegian, get hold of it
somehow, coz it's great stuff! The only thing I don't like about it is that
I can't sing along.
cheers,
Claire

Well, according to MY local listings, the show was supposed to feature
K.D. Lang and our boys. So, I ran out and bought a video tape, popped
it in, and sat in front of the box waiting anxiously for a good dose of
fun from the Chapel Hill Trio. Not that this is news anymore, but no
BF5. I have nothing against Paula Cole. Wonderful girl, good musician,
and rather cute too, I might add (calling me a pig would be futile, I
already know I am). HOWEVER, I do not belong to a Paula Cole mailing
list, I do not own a Paula Cole CD and I did not want to see Paula Cole
on that show when I was expecting Ben, Robert and Darren.
Well, not only were they not on, according to the Session's WEB page
(www.sessionsatwest54th.com), they're not even scheduled to appear at
all. They did tape a show, did they not? Does anyone know why they
didn't get or are not getting air-time?
Well, it was a low point in my weekend. I'll keep waiting patiently,
but still bitching every now and again when I get shafted.
Everyone is entitled to my opinion.

Hi all,
Scott, in Australia (my favorite country!), asked opinions on whether BFF was
better in a club atmosphere or in a festival setting. Personally, there's no
comparison.......see them in their OWN show at a club! I've seen them at the
intimate Georgia Theatre in Athens and at the Midtown Music Festival in
Atlanta. First of all, you'll see a longer show at a club. There won't be
any time constraints on the band. Secondly, the people at the show will want
to be there to see BFF. You won't have to worry about the idiots throwing
things at them because they're bored waiting for "their band(s)" to play.
Lastly, I got to ask Ben about this very question and he most definately
preferred doing club venues.
Now, perhaps, this has changed since they have done so many tour shows with
H.O.A.R.D.E. and, don't get me wrong, you'll see a stellar performance from
one of the greatest bands I've every heard, but I hope you get the chance to
see them on their own.
Cheers to you, mate. Enjoy!

Hi all. A small bit of extra information. I addressing a envelope to the guys
and I was drawing Ben Folds Five in the font they use on the albums. Well, a
while back i was wondering just why that heart was on the upper right hand
corner of the first album. Although this doesn't quite answer my question, i
still think it's pretty cool. That same little heart is in the second little
loop of the "B" in Ben. No, i don;t have too much free time I just happened
to notice : )
take care,
Becca
